The restaurant itself is absolutely stunning. The space is elegant, warm, and romantic, with a beautiful atmosphere that makes you want to linger. It wasn't too busy (likely because it was Sunday), but that only made it feel more intimate. For appetizers, my friends ordered the French onion soup and escargot. The soup was flavorful and served piping hot--it stayed that way for over 20 minutes! The escargot isn't usually my thing, but my friends raved about how buttery and delicious it was. For mains, I had the spaghetti aux fruits de mer. It looked incredible when it arrived, and the flavors matched the presentation--fresh, savory, and satisfying. My friends went with the suprême de volaille and the bavette grillée & frites. Judging by their clean plates, they clearly enjoyed every bite. We ended the night by splitting multiple desserts, which was the perfect finish to a memorable meal. Overall, Henri Brasserie exceeded expectations. Between the beautiful setting, attentive service, and dishes that truly delivered, I'd highly recommend it for anyone looking for a romantic dinner or a special night out in Montreal.

Caesar salad with a poached egg. The egg was unfortunately translucent and just needed more time. It watered down an otherwise great salad.

Soaring high above the city of Montreal and into the clouds at SORA 45. I stopped by this (actually…read morehidden) speakeasy since I was staying at the nearby Hotel Bonaventure, and it was definitely worth a visit! Located on the 45th floor, you can get beautiful panoramic views of the city, including of the St. Lawrence river. Highly recommend stopping by to watch the sunset transition into nighttime. Now onto their menu- I was expecting a bit more food options, but they really only have light bites/appetizers, so I'd eat elsewhere beforehand. I ordered the Wagyu brioche, which was incredible, but I wasn't as impressed with the crispy hosomaki, which was overly salty and didn't have that much dimension of flavor. The drinks were incredible and innovative though, incorporating authentic Japanese flavors and three eras of Japan's history. The bartenders and staff were very friendly and accommodating, managing to snag me a much coveted bar spot without a prior reservation.

Definitely some of the best prices and the drinks were actually really good even at that price. We went on a Sunday afternoon and weren't expecting much since I heard it's usually quiet but there was a decent crowd. The staff did a good job getting us seats within 10-15 minutes. Definitely looking forward to coming back next time we're in town.

They serve everything tapas style here meaning small plates that you share with others. Even the bowls are a little smaller portioned, a little harder to share. However I think the hot appetizers like the takoyaki (octopus balls), okonomiyaki (japanese omelette/pancake), and the karage (fried chicken) are the must tries! They are super beginner friendly options that taste super good! Lots of umami flavor and they are perfectly sized and portioned for sharing. I also enjoyed their mocktail drinks. The three in the photo are the three that they have. They are all green haha. I really liked the matcha one, it just tastes like a matcha latte but better! All the items came out one by one, and were nicely timed. Once we finished an item another came out! Although they were kind of busy I think they did a great job at service. The ambiance is also amazing, I love the indoor decor.

The vibes are casual, the waiters joke and talk in a more hang out way, and there's no rush to eat and move. They recommend the group meal offering and I can report that it is a TON of food and definitely all their best items. Our colleagues that shared it were the happiest, though they admit they could never hear what was delivered and they are blindly with no reference. I had skewers that I quite enjoyed, though one had enough cheese to last me a week, some of the best edamame (everyone wanted some), and a helping of rice due to my gluten free needs. The cocktails were really something special, definitely a menu you want to drink through. I wanted to love Biirū, but I do admit the reviews around the meal experience and communication from the waiters was fairly accurate. I don't think a few of us would've come here with our allergies had it not been a work dinner. Their understanding of celiac disease was low, like sure I could eat the soy sauce and not react right now, but I will later and that shouldn't be a risk a business presents. Further, we had to confirm 4 times that one dish was made on its own pan due to a severe anaphylactic allergy. The staff don't seem to speak to one another, so the delivery of food was horrible with parts going to one end when they belonged elsewhere.
