Playground is a very fun place, and excellently run. They are predominantly a casino gaming space, but they have multiple solid dining spaces including The Rail (a coal fired bistro), Drunken Dragon (Japanese), and a steakhouse. I have been at least four times there. From the gaming perspective, they are the best poker room in all of Canada and perhaps all of North America. Dealers are excellent, food & beverage service is excellent (and the food itself is great in the poker room), and they have good quality tables, seating, and chips. They also have lots of tournaments there. The overall place is kept clean and they're always going around cleaning the gaming machines / slots. There are no live tables here other than poker, but they have electronic roulette, blackjack, and baccarat. I have only eaten at The Rail. Dinner there was very good. The cheesy garlic bread was solid. The bacon Hawaiian pizza was a great pizza. Service there was good, too. Also, Playground has complimentary valet parking. read more

Came here for the first time on Saturday May 11, 2024 around 3PM. I heard about it through social media as they have recently renovated and expanded the place. I am used to the Montreal Casino, if we are to compare the two, Playground is significantly smaller and more geared towards poker players. Our group was just interested in slot machines - you have to create a membership card to play, which is free, and they give you up to $30 in credits for liking their social media handles. This was straightforward and easy. The slot machines are located on the first and second floor. Upper floor is part of the expanded area and is overally nicer, has fresher carpet and less of a smell. I was surprised to see many smoking rooms - despite being enclosed, whenever the sliding doors open, the smell gets around. Drinks are free while you play, food is free only if you play at the poker tables. Unlike the Montreal Casino, there aren't any self serve stations, so no free soda or water around. The 2nd floor has a stage with occasional live music or shows. The new restaurants for japanese food or steak are also on the 2nd floor. These are beautiful and a nice touch - probably the nicest feature of the Playground. The rest of the area is unfortunately kind of cramped and dark, there is a lack of color and ambiance. Maybe different lighting or more decorations could liven up the place. I found the mood to be a bit depressing. There is no real glitz or glam. Still a decent option if you are just interested in slot machines or poker and would like to have a nice meal on site, but for a fun night out, I find this place to be too small and lacking options. For example, there are no branded slot machines, no famous pop culture icons or anything noticeable. Many other casinos have games featuring celebrity shows or artists which I find more enjoyable. Note the parking is free and there is plenty outdoors however much of the lot is not paved so can be quite messy if you are literally walking in dirt during bad weather. read more

Super friendly staff and well organized area for first timer where you can get up to $30 to play for free as a first time visitor. the first two level are filled with electronics games that is a lot to process especially if you are not familiar with asian culture but it all fun and game. :) Their tables floor felt a bit overcrowded but I guess player dont mid once they are locked in the game. Overall, it was fun playing with the house money that I got as a fist time visitor and was able to convert it to real money after few games on the machines. read more

Honestly, I love this place. I don't play poker, I just love sitting at the 400-500 machines with a buddy. Free drinks while you're playing, there's a fully enclosed smoking room if that's what you need. The employees are very, very nice there. The place is always really clean, it's way bigger than you think, and the restaurant is very good and extremely affordable. The place is only 5 minutes off the island, has parking for about 1000 cars and is open 24/7. read more

We are very spoiled to have this Preeetifulll playground poker house in our beautiful city... I travelled to other countries and cities and besides Las Vegas.. Montreal has the most beautiful poker club! There's at least over 100 tables at this playground and the seats are high end quality I always use to come here to play poker but now and only recently (maybe less than a year) they opened a brand new pavilion of slot machines. I never play slots but if they can add some blackjack tables that would be the only improvement. I also am hearing some rumours that there will be a hotel resort as well that they will open soon! I came here 2 days ago and they definitely improved a lot since the last time I came here.. they now charge for food but i think it's a better move since everyone just came here for the free food the rule was you had to play poker at a table to order free off the menu.. so the hack was you play your blind fold everything and enjoyed the food for free. However, they changed that so less people come but you don't want to play poker with people who don't even play for real as now you pay for the food and the drinks are still free so thats good. It's fun to see less people with dishes out I use to see piles of food everywhere maybe last year so the rules have been updated recently.. they did add a buffet section on Saturday and Sunday so if you pay 20$ you get 10$ of free play Overall, great place and great staff don't kid yourself the food is quite delicious too ! This is such a great poker room that I'm surprised there isn't more reviews. Tournaments, cash games, bilingual dealers/servers/cashiers. Food and drinks provided when you're at a cash table. Also I'm not sure there's a bad looking server in the entire building. This place really caters to the players & is a must visit if you love poker & beautiful women. read more

Much better establishment than I had expected. Be ready to play many experienced opponents because you can run dry pretty quick. Luckily I won a bit for myself. The free food and drinks while playing is absolutely great, but the waiters don't pass all that often so ask for something when you can. The Rail right beside offers good food at a decent price. Water bottles are free which is a huge plus in my mind. The dealers at my table were quick and experienced. As an amateur I often felt the game running too quickly for me to think, but that comes with experience I guess. Only downside to Playground is that tables are selected randomly, so I could not play with my buds. I wouldn't suggest the place for a 'group' event. read more

lots of good reviews but I didnt have a fun afternoon. I went because they had a promotion for brunch at $20 and you get brunch and $10 worth of video slots as a credit. I was greeted at the restaurant and given a seat. i took off my coat and sent an email. no coffee, water or cutlery so i figured it was self serve. I went for an omelette and there were five people ahead of me so he prepared my dish and put it in cue. I was told he would bring it to my table or i could come get it in five minutes. so i sat down again and waited and decided to get coffee water and cutlery. I was told they usually bring it to the table but since i was there i got everything myself. I went to check on my omelette it was ready and he said I didnt know where you were sitting and since he doesnt bring the omelette anyway but a waitress does, im not sure how they figure it out. Simple fix @playground. Give every table a number and this was the guy that makes your omelette writes your number next to your plate and it can be delivered to your table. I finished my food and it was quite good and I went for another omelette. when i returned to my table my plate was still there and my coffee still empty so i again went to fill up on my own. Next I went to the poker table and this is the reason for my review. The second hand, the dealer took the first persons cards beside her even though he hadnt folded. they called over the manager and he said nothing we can do here is your anti back. the player was cool with that even though he didnt fold. About five hands later the dealer flipped a card open to someone face up and continued dealing. then took that card and put it in the center and took everyones card to the left of that person and moved it over a person and then dealt the last person the card. Everyone at the table said no as first of all thats wrong and second of all I had people already looked at there card and it ended up being a misdeal. I had seen enough in my ten or less deals left the table and went home. . Thanks for a waste of an afternoon read more
