The last time I came through, I never saw this restaurant. However, when looking and seeing that the outside seats looked very comfy (even when it was somewhat drizzling), we decided to come in and we actually were seated outside. They have heaters along with blankets to cover your legs, the one downside of sitting outside is that food can get cold. We ordered a good amount of food here. From mussels to pizza and then we also had short ribs with pasta. The food had flavor and I could understand why it was so busy. The waiter was nice and helpful, but again you're looking at a 2ish hour experience when you go dining. If you're looking for the bathroom, it's downstairs through a narrow staircase. Other than that, Baracca is great, a little pricey but it's to be expected especially in this part of town. You're looking at tapas styled plates so you're going to probably order a good amount of food depending on how hungry you are. They do suggest that you order up front since they make everything fresh. read more

The concept is Italian tapas. We shared the creamy pumpkin risotto, beefy shroom pasta, oh my mussels, baby back ribs, tagliata, and the salsiccia pizza. The pasta, mussels (they were very small for the fall but the sauce was great), and the pizza were my favorites of the night. If you love elderberry like I do, the croezer is a great mocktail option. Entrance is on Tiensestreet, not Muntstraat. The outside patios are heated and each seat has a blanket. read more

Best night out in a long time. 2 couples. Starting with champagne, we shared 2 orders of the combo bites, which came out on slabs. We added a side of the seasonal white asparagus in a creamy, sauce with bits of pancetta. Winner! A nice Sisclilian red wine was ordered. The slabs consisted of croquettes, seared tuna, veal, pizza, cheese, and greens all concocted and presented in exciting, delicious ways. The dinner included 2 sweets at the end. A mini lemon meringue tart and a sorbet, cream cone. Great service. Nice ambiance. Not cheap. Well worth it. read more

New (10/2015) Italian place in Leuven with great interior. For only being open 2 weeks they already have a good routine, might because of the owners are two young people from the restaurant world. They did an amazing job on this establishment. Food The food like I said was very good. We have a few appetizers to start with followed by 2 main dishes (sausage + the entrecote). The point of Baracca is to share food (if you waitress didn't mention, like ours it can be confusing). The portions are not very big. As an adult I could eat easily 2 main dishes. So you order a lot of plats and you share with the table. Nothing to remark on the food, good, fresh, great taste. The current menu is a temporarly menu so it will change soon the owner said. They are also the only place (claim to verified) to have a wood pizza oven. I'm always a big fan of wood vs gas. I haven't tried the pizza but they looked amazing. On my list for next time. Staff Very friendly staff, service was quick even for the rush. Some minor things were forgotten, but this was due to the IT system for ordering, not staff. We saw the IT guys sitting after hours (we stay pretty long) to fix the bug. Overall If you want to have a good time with friends in a nice scenery, eating delicous food and wood oven pizza's. This is the place. The one down side: the price for what you get in return. I would offer some more food or even side dishes for that price. read more

First off the restaurant has a cool design and a hip atmosphere. The service was friendly and professional. As for the food it was ok but nothing impressive. We had the croquettes which were quite original and good. We also had buratta with radicchio which looked beautiful but what it made in esthetics it lacked in taste. We also had some shells that weren't so good mostly because of sand that remained. A fair note to the establishment they didn't count the shells and that was very much appreciated! We finished with a pizza that had a wonderful dough but the toppings were pretty boring. All in all the experience was good enough and the price was fair but we probably won't be going back. read more

Industrial deco - I already love it before I even sit! You can choose a place in the restaurant, in the heated terrace or at the bar in front of the barman and chefs! The concept is easy: italian tapas to share. Food is of a surprisingly high level! And this is also why the bill is high too! But no regrets - you definitely get what you give! read more
