Amazing food, great service, great selection of wine sourced from small vineyards. Special thanks for the pesto pasta, not on menu but amazing!

    Bruschetta

How refreshing! After several days of traveling in Belgium and the Netherlands, I had grown accustomed to slow, lackadaisical service at even the nicer restaurants. Winehouse Osteria broke this pattern of relaxed service with attentive, experienced (and multilingual!) waiters who contributed to an excellent eating experience. We ordered a bruschetta to start, which came with two slices of bread with a light olive oil drizzle. For my main course, I ordered a troccoli pasta with a white veal-turkey meat sauce. The flavoring and plating were superb and our waiter carefully helped us pick a wine to pair with our meal. I had some of my father's eggplant, which was still very warm and had a great texture to it. The portions were on the smaller size, but that just meant there was plenty of room for dessert. The pannacotta was the best I've ever had. It was perfectly creamy with a great strawberry compote and mint garnish that brought together each wonderful bite. The drunken pear was soft and pretty decent, but nowhere near as exciting as the pannacotta. The seating was slightly cramped and the table we were on was slanted, but nothing that's not to be expected from outdoor dining in Brussels. The ambience was great and it's located at the intersection of three pedestrian streets with plenty of other restaurants around. Originally, we had planned on going to a different restaurant, but I'm extremely happy that we stumbled upon this little gem.

    Taglioni au truffe (100g)

Very small, intimate restaurant with only about 7 tables in a quieter corner of the city center. I started my experience by asking what reds are recommended for a well-traveled pallet (they have an extensive wine list since that is what the experience is built around). Of course, of the two offered for a taste once I indicated my preferences, my nose picked the priciest glass, before even learning the price (Verre Toscana Divers)! After savoring the velvety and aromatic red from the Toscana region, I opted for the Taglioni au Truffe pasta with 100g of truffles. A salty, buttery sauce made this an excellent pairing with the wine and truffles. A great experience for groups of no more than 4, but better for romantic couples and discerning singleton foodies.

Cute place, very small. Get the olives, very fresh. The cheese plate was ok. The pasta entrees were lacking in flavor.

I ordered the bruschetta and the pasta with clams. The bruschetta came quickly and was good though hard to eat off the little plate with the toppings rolling off the side. The pasta however was below average. I had to add tons of cheese to it just to make it take decent enough to eat. AND the chef forgot to make my food before her cigarette break and when I asked the waiter how much longer he went out and spoke to her about it. Of course she didn't budge until after she finished smoking then I had to wait for her to make the food. It was almost an hour by the time I got the food and it wasn't good.

Bread, olive oil and balsamic vinegar

If you want to eat here, stop in a day or two before and make a reservation since they only have room for 20-25 total, the place is tiny. It was one of the best meals that we had in Brussels, which is a bit surprising because I thought Belgian food here would be better than Italian food. They only have 2 seatings for the night: 7 pm and 9 pm. A party of 2 is best, a party of 4 is also manageable but harder to get a table, and don't try to come with a party larger than 4, you won't fit in here. But this place has fresh pasta, a unique menu that accommodates a lot of dietary restrictions, and a wide selection without being so large that it's hard to pick what you want to eat. They have a good selection of starters that include bruschetta, olives, a zucchini creme brûlée, amongst other things. They have a good selection of pastas, including a black squid ink pasta with cherry tomatoes and clams, a pappardelle with lamb ragu, and beet & ricotta gnocchi. For those that are gluten-free or paleo, they even have a spiralised zucchini and carrot "pasta". They also have good main entrees, including lamb, ossobucco, a chickpea souffle. They'll bring you some bread with olive oil and balsamic vinegar to start your meal, which is nice. Lamb Pappardelle (100 grams, 15€, 150 grams, 18€) - The pappardelle was fresh, homemade pasta - the texture was perfect and the lamb ragu was also flavorful, not salty, and not overpowering to the pasta. I don't normally care for lamb, but I liked this lamb ragu. Trio of asparagus with parmesan, bacon, eggs (17€) - We weren't sure what to expect when we ordered this - we expected two small green asparagus spears with bacon and poached eggs, but when this dish came out, we were pleasantly surprised to see 9 asparagus spears. They were thicker, white asparagus with a sweeter taste, and 3 of them had pesto and parmesan, 3 were wrapped in bacon, and 3 had a crumbled hard boiled egg on them. After not eating vegetables for the last few days, having this many vegetables in one dish was a welcome thing. It was tasty and satisfying while being relatively healthy. We passed on dessert, but they had a cherry cheesecake, pannacotta, tiramisu, and a vegan millefeuille. Our total for 2 glasses of wine, the pasta, and asparagus dish was 47€ which was reasonably priced for dishes with fresh ingredients and a good selection of food. They take credit cards, have free WiFi, and were friendly, accommodating, and it was a really nice dining experience. Their English is also pretty good. I'd recommend this place - make sure you make a reservation though! If I come back to Brussels, I'll definitely be back here.

    Duck ragu was delicious

Small little restaurant. Very large selection of Italian wines to choose from. You can have a glass with your meal, order a bottle and even buy to take home. Pasta is freshly made and excellent. Portions are generous for a European entree. We ordered the cheeses of the day for our appetizer and ordering a portion for one but for two people is plenty. The cured meats were delicious and shared a serving for one between the two of us. Main course of duck ragu and papardelle was flavorful. Not your typical ragu sauce. Three options for amount of pasta. The largest is about the size of a normal portion in America. The chestnut gnocchi with mushrooms was very unique. Gnocchi is not as dense as potato-flour gnocchi. Definitely worth a try, especially if you love gnocchi! We were too full for dessert (ok, we actually went to get a waffle after). Dinner with a bottle of water, a glass of wine each, two single servings of appetizers and an entree each was 70 euros. Pretty reasonable for all the food. They offer free wifi and speak English. I would suggest making a reservation to avoid being turned away! Great spot for dinner and the ambiance is nice enough for a romantic date spot as well!

Came in late but still got service. The food was wonderful, steak was slightly under cooked but it's okay because that's how I eat it (rare). The plate was big and the Service was great. Try it out if you are in town.

Truffle pasta on bottom, so good.

Get out of the tourist zone and find this off the beaten path gem. Food was excellent. Great wine selection. Very small place.

It really shouldn't have been labeled as that, because no one was watching it for travelers like myself. Instead, I had to dig through my email to learn that I was supposed to receive an arrival email before I got there. Spoiler alert, I didn't get it before I arrived. I did get it at 3:15am of the second morning of my stay though! I had to call the number listed in my email to get information to get in. They eventually gave me the door code and told me the room I was in (101) and the combination for the lockbox outside my door. FYI, the elevator that takes you to the first floor takes you to an unlit entryway to room 103. All other 100 rooms can only be accessed by the stairs. Once in my room, I was pretty surprised to see that you accessed the bedroom via the bathroom, which was attached to the entry. It was definitely startling. But there were sliding doors that provided privacy between the bedroom and bathroom and entry and bathroom, so I appreciated that you could separate the spaces. Additionally, it wasn't the cleanest. The red carpet had tons of stains on it, and the counter next to the sink had stains from before I arrived. I was exhausted, so I quickly got into bed, where I discovered that one of the outlets next to the bed did not work, as well as one of the lights next to the bed did not turn on, and one of the switches did not seem to control anything. The phone next to the bed turned out to be purely decorative. I picked it up and there was no dial tone despite it being plugged in. The bed however, was fairly comfortable. The next morning, I tried to deal with the Wi-Fi situation. When I arrived, I didn't see any Wi-Fi information, so I opted to leave the problem for the next day as I was exhausted. I called the desk that morning and was told that they "didn't know the name of the network as it can change, so try the one with the strongest signal". I tried every network possible with the password I was given, and none worked. I tried variations of the password. It didn't work. I reached out via WhatsApp and was told that a technician would be working on it that day. No one did. The next day, there was still no Wi-Fi. They said a technician would be working on it that day and it would be taken care of by the end of the day. It wasn't. After at least five calls to Booking.com to try to resolve the situation and many different answers, they never resolved the problem. The morning after I arrived, I went out to explore Brussels. When I returned that afternoon, the key card reader for the door was not working. I called and was asked to send a video to the number on WhatsApp. I sent the video and waited about 20 minutes before I received a response. After another 20 minutes of back and forth and waiting outside in the cold, I was told to use the door combination from my email (the one I didn't receive until the next morning). They eventually provided me with the door code so I could get in. Once I got to my door, my card key was not working. I reached out again, and was again told to send a video of me trying to open my door. I provided the video and waited for a reply. After another 20 minutes, they said they were escalating it to the "necessary department". I was sitting outside my room waiting this entire time. About 30 minutes later, I was given the combination to the safe, where they kept EVERY KEY to get my own key and let myself in. This is so beyond unacceptable to me. I find this to be a huge security issue, as I could've easily accessed any other room with the card keys in the safe. I had been speaking with representatives at Booking.com during this debacle, and they were working with the hotel to get me out of my reservation. After the hotel initially said that I was able to leave early and be refunded, they reneged on their earlier statement after I was able to access my room, stating that the problem had been solved. When I went to take a shower, I was excited to use the rainfall shower head. It didn't work. I had to use the handheld nozzle, which ended up leaking out the side of the tub because the glass barrier was not actually attached to the tub, leaving a gap for water to get all over the floor. There was no soap in the room. I would've loved to be able to actually wash my hands, but compared to everything else wrong, that's only a small issue. I also would have liked to have a cup for when I brushed my teeth, but that likewise was not provided. The TV worked.

Amazing location and room but a small fridge is missing. I recommend this hotel and would returnread more
