I had a discount card to use which had to be "discussed" first by the women in the shop as they seemed to unaware of the promo from Northtown Hyundai. My haircut was okay, but if you think stopping here is a really great deal, look at the price list before you decide. I was pleasantly surprised with the classy decor & friendly staff. My stylist, Amanda, was super friendly and really "got" what I was going for with my cut. Unlike previous experiences I didn't have to wait around well past my appointment time to be seen and my stylist wasn't manicly trying to work on multiple customers at once. Most importantly I love my new hair cut and color! It was also quite reasonbly priced compared to other salons I've been to in the area and definitely way cheaper than what my friend's salon was charging before she did my hair at home. I'm stingy and lazy with hair appointments - I'm generally someone who touches up their own cut and color between the three or four professional appointments I make in a year but this experience, and the proximity to my house, makes me consider getting it done professionally on a regular basis.

I really wanted to like this place...but I didn't…read more First, I wasn't told prior to my appointment that you have to park in the lot that is actually for the apartment complex next to the salon if their tiny back lot and side street is full - I was worried I would get a ticket but they said no one ever had - I'm glad I didn't. You can tell there's not a community feel - that these are definitely stylists working for themselves and renting a chair. I didn't know I was a person that didn't like this until I was there - there's no sense of commonality or a team feel. The atmosphere was lacking - there was a radio playing but the walls are pretty bare and it was pretty cold inside temperature-wise. The stylist I had was very sloppy in the application of my color - getting it on my cheeks and temples and forehead - I have been getting my hair colored for years and this is definitely not what I am used to. What I didn't know is that the stylist I saw hasn't been doing this for long and had recently gotten her license - within the past year or so. I didn't feel pampered, didn't feel like much attention was being paid to me - my color wasn't even timed. The color washed out after one wash on the grays that I needed covering. I contacted the stylist to have it redone but she wasn't able to get me back in right away due to illness - this I understand, and took it as a sign to not go back. I get that everyone needs to learn, etc., and it was my mistake for not researching a bit more before making the appointment, and it was the night before the big blizzard, however, I do expect to get excellent service when paying for it and I cannot say that I did. My main reason for trying this place out was convenience as my usual stylist is a 35-minute drive. Lesson learned.
