You swipe in the first one, then wait for it to close and swipe the second door. It's a little odd, but at this price ($8.99 or $18.99 month) does it matter? The two different prices offer differing levels of service and if you scan their website, you can figure out which is right for you. About the only complaint I have is that they play the music kind of loud, so make sure you have noise-cancelling headphones to drown it out if you don't care for the station they are playing.

She is very hands on and patient with the little kids. It's very structured and an open and inviting environment. You can also take advantage of their open gym times and have fun playing on all the equipment there with your kids and this is all ages I believe. I can tell the kids just love being able to adventure around the gym. Just wait around for the big foam pit to be open towards the end of Open Gym. It's worth the wait to go and jump around in there. The staff are great, friendly and energetic. The facilities are kept nice, neat and clean.

The gym itself was very clean, organized and quite new. Today, the one staff member at the front desk was very busy getting people checked in and it wasn't clear as to what the process was. We didn't know where to go or the schedule, procedures, etc. Once we got that sorted (a half hour past start time), the students were organized into groups and rules were reviewed. The coaches seemed really energetic and positive. My daughter was very shy getting started, but they quickly got her busy having fun and she didn't even notice me leave. It looks like it hasn't been renovated since the 70s in the best kind of way. The lounge is warm, cozy, and surprisingly spacious. Their long tables encourage socialization. My only criticism is that they don't start serving alcohol until 3pm on Sundays (they start at noon on Saturdays). It was kind of a bummer finding that out when we got there. The biggest bonus? Drift food truck does their catering and they are AMAZING. Renting a sheet of ice is very reasonably priced, making curling a super accessible sport here. They also periodically offer learn to curl clinics to teach you the basics. The clinic is only $20, lasts for 2 hours, and includes a drink of your choice following the lesson. Definitely worth checking out if you are a beginner. I would highly recommend Shamrock for beginner curlers because it is incredible inviting. I would also recommend it to more experienced folks for the same reason!

Both have great views of the ice, depending on whether or not you want a table or a couch to watch from. The downstairs area has a small canteen with food (menu varies) that is generally pub style. The servings are huge (and tasty)! Upstairs there is a full service bar and tables. There are some games to play if you are waiting between matches and bathrooms on both levels. I loved the community feel of the club, with regulars having their own beer mugs on the wall, and lovely touches like upgraded faucets and flowers in the women's washrooms. I had no idea what to expect from a curling club, and this is a welcoming homey place to relax with friends, whether you are curling or not.

The MacEwan sports centre, which is located downtown, just east of some of the university admin…read more buildings, is a great place to work out or meet for a game of badminton or tennis. Parking's a bit of an issue, but if you're lucky enough to get a meter spot close to the entrance from the back at around 105 St, then you've got it made. The badminton courts are usually half-full, so just bring a racquet and shoes and you're ready to go. The work-out facilities are good, and the price is right. It's a great alternative for both students and the rest of the commmunity to membership at a private club or older city facilities. This sports centre is fairly new and has everything you need to get in a good, fast workout in a clean, spacious environment, without all the testosterone or intimidating buffness of more serious gyms.

I would have thought that it was a hard fought match between two excellent teams, but the fans informed me otherwise with repeated chants in the stadium and surroundings: "Calgary Sucks." More specifically, "Stamps Suck Shit." Oh, and that you want the Eskimos to score so that a sponsor will donate money to HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL. Yes, that is shouted. Don't ask. Just for sh*ts and giggles, I'd like to see the NFL adopt CFL rules for a week. Why? Because it leads to awesome football! There are only three downs, the play clock is only 20 seconds, the defense has to line up a yard back from the line of scrimmage, and the field is about 10% wider and longer - all of which leads to a whole lot more offensive action and risk taking. And less boredom. There are also some random things like twelve players per side and points for missed field goals (WTF?). But I'll take the package over the NFL any day. Except I could really use the Packers in the CFL since only the Packers matter. Whatever, the important lesson is that Stamps Suck Shit.
