Clarke Field, the home of the FC Edmonton is a great little stadium. It's right in the middle of…read morethe sketchiest, roughest part of town. No where you want to be after dark. But for a afternoon soccer match, it's A-OK - Just make sure to park right in the lot and not a block or two away. The stadium is sponsored by Molson's so you can drink beer, and choose from Canadian, Coors, Rickard' Red and I believe cans of Corona. They have a hot-dog stand that's pretty darn good dogs. The washrooms seem to always be clean and there are lots of staff/volunteers around so you can feel safe bringing the kids. The blue bleachers have new plastic seating that is just as good as any major league seats. Here's my seating tips: If it's Spring or Fall the East bleachers will keep you warmer (ie sun on you much longer then the West Bleachers) for evening games. But, there are only washrooms located on the West side of the bleachers. In the height of summer the West side will provide a bit of needed shade - best bet, West bleachers! And don't forget to cheer!

I definitely would not hesitate to purchase tickets for any future events at this stadium. Parking was a breeze and reasonable at only $5! Go Blue and Black!

Stairs. Everyone's worst enemy lol. (Even those crazy fit…read morepeople!) I haven't actually been to a game here This review is specifically for the special privileged use for the stadium (specifically the stairs)! Thank you to November Project for scoring another great summer at the stadium stairs! (see NP's twitter for details ) If you thought the Royal Glenora and Wolf Willow stairs were hard, think again! Commonwealth Stadium has rows upon rows of extra steps of all varieties, from the lower bowl's shallow wide steps to deeper shorter steps, to the upper bowl's almost-scary even steeper staircases! (Like you're hiking down an Aztec ruin haha) But wait, there's more! You only get 30-45 minutes to get er' done! (Or to challenge those once a month 96'er specials - do the WHOLE stadium in ONE hour!!! Bahahaha!) Feeling the burn yet?

As season ticket holders, we've been to the stadium many times but this was our first Grey Cup game…read morehere. Most things were status quo, but there were a few notable exceptions this time. Being that this was a sold out Grey Cup game, there were a LOT more fans in attendance than usual. The biggest negative we encountered was the lack of staff directing traffic at the ends of the stadium. We ended up being stuck in the middle of a barely moving crowd for so long that we missed some of the opening ceremony. It was very dangerous and scary to be trapped in the middle of that, especially when security and the police came running through to attend to a situation. This was poor planning on the part of the stadium and luckily ended up being uneventful for us. The upside from what I saw, was that the concessions, 50/50 sellers and beer hawkers seemed to be reasonably efficient. The halftime show was absolutely amazing, the fly-overs awe inspiring and the game was pretty good too. All things considered, we had a great time. It's just a shame the Red Blacks didn't win...
