From booking on there was mixed communication. I think everyone is part time because you never get the same person twice. Debbie was the most knowledgeable and friendliest person I spoke with. We received a lot of email communication. I filled out the forms as they came and would still get requests to fill out the same forms. I had rented two of the condos. This one and B405. Communication on check in did not include gate code and I was unaware of a gate. The check in email also listed the wrong WIFI password for 405. When we arrived after our long day of travel with a 7 and 12 year old we had no code. It was on Sunday, so when I called I got the answering service. Michael the manager called us back with the code. This was our first family vacation with both of our grandkids. It was a Christmas gift to them. They were in 307 and we were in 405. We went to our condos and began to unpack. My daughter in law called and there was no water in their unit. I went down to look and since Michael had called me I was able to call him back. He told me where the main water valve was and said it gets turned off sometimes between rentals. I got it turned on and then a bit later when we gathered for dinner, my daughter in law said the water in the primary bath sink didn't work. When we got back, we checked it out. When you turned the valve on under the sink, the faucet worked but it would not turn off and leaked under the sink. I texted Michael at 8:25 PM to let him know. He said since Monday was a holiday, he couldn't get a plumber until Tuesday. I said ok, we would work with that. Tuesday came and went, no plumber. I contacted Michael then it would be Wednesday. He did not let me know no-one would be there Tuesday, I had to contact him. Wednesday, I got the message the plumber would be there by 9. My family had met for breakfast and my daughter in law went back down to clear the bathroom area. The plumber came while she was there, but did not fix anything. We assumed he went for parts but never showed again. On Wednesday evening I let Michael know that he was there and didn't fix it. I got a text back on Thursday morning saying he was there but no one was home. Michael had texted no one had to be there , the plumber had a special code, plus, this was a lie. My Daghter in law was there when he came. Michael's response to me letting him know this was "did she get his name". That was an odd response as you would think he would be aware of who was coming into our condos. We got no communication and Michaels text of lies led me to call him instead of texts. All I got was excuse after excuse. He said both plumbers they use were busy due to the holidays. He just could not get anyone. I felt as a property manager, he should have come there himself to check on the issues at least. He also told me the problem was not there before we arrived. Not true, the water wasn't even on for someone to know. It lead me to believe the bathroom was never even cleaned, nor was anything that needed water to clean. Otherwise, why would they turn it off when a tenant was coming. He had nothing to say to that. Then he said, "put yourself in my shoes, I can't get a plumber, I have and upset tenant and my hands are tied". That was the icing on the cake!!! He should always put the customer first as a manager. I told him to forget about it because we were heading out on Saturday and this had consumed so much of my time on my family Christmas gift vacation. He replied I can't do that, this is a leak and an emergency. To that I replied, " if it is an emergency, why has it been 5 days without a repair or even anyone to look at it." Then I told him this was going nowhere and I was getting upset. My family was ready to go for breakfast. So I told him goodbye and that was that. I never heard from him again and there was never a plumber to repair the issue. The Condos were nice, but not on any kind of beach. We enjoyed the time I wasn't dealing with issues. I would NEVER rent for Barefeet rentals again. I I strongly suggest no one else does. read more

So disappointed in this company. Rented a place that sleeps 10. It only slept 8 and we ended up having two adults sleeping on the couch. The even worse disappointing part was that management from Barefeet Rentals refused to call us to discuss the problem and how to help us. We called every day and the people that answered the phone were nice and tried to be helpful but they couldn't do anything about it. We emailed, left messages, gave our phone number for a return call every day and NOTHING. Horrible customer service. Also, if the paper you signed for guest and parking from the Mariners Club said there was street parking, there is not. Your car will get towed and you will have to pay $25 a night in a boat yard to park your car. Not ideal. To say the least, I would never book though Barefeet Rentals again and will tell everyone I know the same thing. If only the owners of the actual condo knew how their management company handled their property. read more

Kitchen with bare essential no can opener , no bottle opener , no blender. Foosball table is broken , upstairs master shower drain is clogged. Upstairs air conditioner is super loud. Bring ear plugs, outside area was covered with leaves and debris of the 7 day stay no one ever showed up to clean so we could use outdoor fun. The good things house is good size for three couples, is it's a beautiful property with two pools, a great gym It's my fault that I left some money and items in the night stand drawer would have been nice for cleaners to report they found all the items and money. Used Barefoot Rentals for a recent Key Largo vacation. Stayed at 'Mariners Club #408 - unit was perfectly located and overlooked the pool with ocean view. It was meticulous clean. Lots of communication on what to expect and easy check in/out process. Would definitely rent from them again. Wanted to toss this review out here because I I noticed the reviews were not great, but appeared to pretty old so maybe they have new ownership or something. Recommend using them for your rental, cheaper than VRBO/Air BNB with their hidden fees that are added to the daily room rates. read more

We arrive and we are notified the water will be shut off our first morning there. No one at Mariners Club or Barefeet Rentals bothered to tell us and said "we just found out about it" but they had time to write/print notices to hand us, but not call us. I asked the check-in person about a discount for the inconvenience and she said you will have to email us. I did that and after a week I didn't get a response and I had to call them. Also there was a cable outage. I called twice on the matter and never got a return call from their maintenance. I sent an image of the cable outage and screen shots of my phone with calls to their office and this is the response I received: "Also...regarding the livingroom tv, our rooms supervisor does not show any missed or unreturned calls for that day nor does the answering service or our maintenance file so that is a mystery. As to the major waterline repair...we have no idea why the water was temporarily shut down and cannot speak to why we received short notice." They call it a "mystery". Its a not a mystery, you pay in advance and they have your money and don't really care because they include clauses saying it doesn't matter what maintenance issue you have we don't refund or discount, including if the AC doesn't work. Annie, Owner/Broker from Barefeet Rental sent me this: "MAINTENANCE: It is possible that it might be necessary to temporarily close or provide maintenance to tennis courts, swimming pools, marinas, elevators, landscaping and/or other common elements in a community during your stay. Additionally, neither Barefeet Rentals or property owners guarantee against mechanical failure of heating, air-conditioners, televisions, VCR's, DVD's, plumbing, refrigeration or other appliances or utilities such as Internet/Cable/Phone service or construction work in the community. The undersigned agree to report any inoperative equipment, disruption in service or disturbances to Barefeet Rentals. No discounts or refunds will be given for equipment/appliance/utility/plumbing failure or maintenance noise or disruption that occurs during your stay." I responded to Annie's email with: You left out that at Barefeet Rentals, 1. We really don't care, we have your money in advance 2. Good chance we won't return your call 3. Unlikely we will return your email in a reasonable time 4. We don't empower our staff to make arrangements to ensure your stay is as advertised 5. We use clauses to ensure we keep your money regardless of the maintenance condition of the units we rent read more

Mariner's Club unit 408 Would not recommend at all. VERY expensive so we had much higher expectations. Unit was VERY outdated and worn. Cabinets scratched up missing knobs, carpet most stained and worn I have ever seen, main hand rail up very steep steps to get into unit completely broken off wall, master bath toilet was clogged and almost over flowing when we checked in. Let know upon booking we had a 2 year old son. Not once were we told this unit was not child friendly at all and no other unit recommended. Very steep steps, all tile flooring which was VERY slippery if any moisture. My poor son fell many times. Only access to pool very narrow spiral steps made of metal. Not conducive for children or elderly at all. Again,any moisture which is a given as access to pool, makes a VERY dangerous walk up or down. We had 1 fall. Only other access to pool is to go down main steep steps with VERY big drop off first step(again handrail broken off wall), go outside and then walk the whole way around building to get to pool. We had to call 4 times and took 2 days to have someone show up to fix master toilet. Original call day we checked in was at 3pm and were told someone was in their way. 4 calls and another day later, someone finally showed. Huge inconvenience as couple staying in master had to walk downstairs to use bathroom as someone was staying in other bedroom upstairs with bathroom A huge piece of black rubber was pulled out! The main railing up and down main steps was never fixed. Also disappointing a night light and sun glasses case were left behind and we were never contacted about it. Also VERY disappointed at booking we were NEVER told the 2nd pool and grotto was closed for construction. View was beautiful and main pool was nice but that was about it! If we would have known half of this, we would have definately stayed elsewhere. HUGE disappointment for what we paid. Ladies working at barefeet rentals were all very nice everytime we called and when we picked up keys. They should be recognized for this and not penalized for the state of the rental unit. Only disappointment with barefeet rentals was we wish they would have recommended a more kid friendly unit. read more

I was very pleased with the unit itself at 604 Mariners Club. I do not have much negative to say about the appearance or condition of the unit. There is an issue with the dryer in the unit and when we called about the issue, we were informed that they are aware there is an issue and it sometimes doesn't work. So for this, my issues are with the rental company representing this unit, which is Barefeet Rentals. If you know this, why is this information not shared? If you know this, why is the property management company not getting it fixed? I should have understood how bad this company, Barefeet Rentals would be trying to stick it to people when I first reached them to stay there. First, I should have not booked with them direct. I should have stayed with book on AirBnB or VRBO. Second, I was bringing a boat and was directed that I needed to contact other places for storage and launching. Let me tell you, April, who manages the slips at Mariners club, is not managing much and can't even call you back for coordination. The direct you to the Catamaran Boat Yard and Storage as your closest option. Definitely not the cheapest or the friendliest. Suffice it to say after calling around a bit, the best deal is at Pennekamp State Park. Catamaran would have Charged me $350 to store my boat on the trailer and us the boat ramp for 4 nights(we left the morning of the 5th day, yes they charge you for that whole day since it was after midnight). At the park, all you have to do is book a mooring Ball and you get to park your boat and trailer in the park. The difference, was I paid $72 for the same timeframe and had much nicer service from the people I dealt with. I definitely recommend calling a few places. Amazing how the prices are insane (even for the Keys) when we all travel there and the place survives on tourism. In regards to Barefeet Rentals, there is a great deal of information missing and there will be lots of questions you should have and should ask when you finally get someone on the phone. I will tell you as well, do not forget ANYTHING as it will be expensive to get it back. See, after charging you a bunch of money to stay and have the place cleaned, they use a "service" for mailing items which is a $35 minimum! This is for simple items (fishing license, boating license, and some store rewards cards) that were left behind. You think a company making all this money would mail this back in an envelope for the cost of the stamp as a form of good customer service. It's not like was asking them to overnight a PS4 that was left behind. It was a few simple items that they could have sent in a regular envelope. So, when I called to discuss this with them, they simply explained taht it was a company policy. When I inquired as to who creates that policy, they had no idea and guessed the owner does. When I asked who actually was in charge and who the boss really was, I was told that they could not provide that info. Nice thing is you can look up these companies online through SunBiz to find out who they are. Bottom line. I would definitely stay at the Mariners club again. I would never stay in any property managed by Barefeet or their affiliate Tropical ever again. read more

BEWARE! After reserving #411 Kawama Tower on VRBO through another company, I was informed that the unit had been sold and was under new management. I was fully refunded, and assured that the new company, Barefeet Rentals would take care of us at the same rate minus our VRBO fee of $128 if we rebooked directly with them. Though panicked as this was a month before our vacation, we hoped for the best. Enter Annie of Barefeet Rentals. She did call me back after I reached out to them. She assured me that our reservation was safe, and that we would get the same rate minus the VRBO fee, which might help us get over the inconvenience of it all. She said it would take a few days for them to get this property loaded into their system. After several days, I was contacted by Debbie from Barefeet. She said she was handling our reservation and emailed me a contract. I immediately saw that instead of being $128 less, it was over $60 more. So close to $200 more that what Annie had told me. Most of this was because they, unlike the first company, charge a $160 non refundable insurance charge whether you break something or not. I also noticed that check in is only from 3-5. If you can't make it, you must send them a copy of your license and a credit card, and they will leave your key in some sort of dropbox. I called Debbie back and told her about the price difference and told her what Annie had told me. She said that others had been telling her all day that Annie had said their rate was the same minus VRBO fee, and that she would talk to Annie about fixing it. Later that afternoon, I got an email saying the contract was right and that I had 24 hours to accept their higher price or our reservation would be cancelled!! We were furious! Everything about this seemed off. They had us over a barrel a month before Spring Break! Thank God I was able to find something else! When Debbie called the next day to book, I told her no. I commented how I was just reading horror stories here and on google from others about her and Annie. On top of being liars and crooks, if something goes wrong during your stay, you are screwed! Everything a normal customer driven business would help you with is covered as "not their problem" in that contract. I ended my call with Debbie telling her to tell Annie that we do not do business with liars. I didn't, and neither should anyone else!! Steer clear of Barefeet Rentals unless you enjoy being lied to, overcharged, or having your vacation ruined by people that just don't care!! read more

I reserved a unit at the Mariners Club 2 months in advance. The day of my arrival I received a text, immediately followed by a phone call asking to return the "access form" they emailed me. I never received an email with an access form. In fact, i was just about to call barefeet rentals to find out the address to pick up the keys since I had not heard from them. Anyway, I was in route to Key Largo with all my guests. I was asked to list all of my guests which i- was told I was allowed up to 10 guests, she then corrected herself and said i was allowed 8 guests. Well, I had 10 guests in tow, I told her we would need to figure something out to which she said no, only 8 guests allowed. Why is she calling me 2 hours before check in with this information. Poor customer service. She (manager?) must have called the gate to alert them, and in turn the gate attendees (on 5/23) were extremely rude, aggressive and intimidating. Poor representation of Barefeet Rentals and The Mariners Club. In addition, the condo was dusty and bathroom fixtures falling apart, otherwise very nice. According to Barefeet Rentals the owners stay there frequently so couldn't be dusty. I have pictures so Barefeet Rentals if you'd like to see them call me, you have my number. I will try to post them on other formats that allow pictures. I cant believe the customer is being called a liar. Worst experience I have ever had using VRBO for over 20 years and Barefeet Rentals has been the #1 worst. The property of Mariners Club is gorgeous and beautifully maintained. My family and friends had a lovely time AFTER the poor experience with the gate attendees. ps - I did call Barefeet Rentals, the girl who answered was very kind and apologetic. Second time booking with Barefeet Rentals. Just wanted to say thank you guys for being so generous and helping me make a last minute reservation possible! We are currently stationed in Kings Bay, Ga and wanted to have an incredible going away trip before we all get stationed in new locations! Mariners Resort in Key Largo is where we stayed for two weeks and would most definitely recommend to anyone. One of our first phone calls with the staff of barefeet rentals they explained everything that the resort has to offer and why they recommended it to us; pools, grotto jacuzzi, tennis courts and of course..... the fitness center! haha we knew immediately that was the place we had to stay! Location too, couldn't have been better, right in the middle of all the things we wanted to do. And while visiting with an awesome restaurant right next door called the island grill. The grill has live music, great food and is right on the waterfront After fishing all day and checking out the islands we couldn't have found a better way to end each day. So thank you to barefeet rentals for making our trip a success! Ill be back for a third trip! read more
