That's part of the problem too - all new staff due to firing the old staff during C*vid times...ones who had been there for years & were so sweet. The new manager is a guy who frequently complains openly about people shopping in the store, has literally complained about having to check my cart of stuff because I "got too much" and it'd take a while to scan it all in (I had maybe 6 books, a couple of shoes and some small nicknacks - it wasn't a lot). He's also changed sale hours - day of - closing early because he felt like it. He does not make people feel welcome to shop there - it's like we're bothering him to be in the store. Also, the pricing has gotten really bad - it's frequently at or above retail now, which is so sad since this stuff is always clearly used and *given/donated* to the store, but they grossly overprice it. Case in point: A used coffee grinder for $24.99 when it's new for $18.95 on Amazon or $19.98 at Walmart. The clothes have been really stained, hole-filled, torn and ripped lately. I really hate how bad the store is these days... I went in recently and they were selling a side table that was missing two legs, but still had it priced at $39.99. It just makes me so sad since this used to be my favorite thrift store in the area, and it's awful now.

It cost only 60$ and just needs reupholstering. There is a lot of junky stuff, too, but that's in the eye of the beholder, so I can't take away any stars for that. I buy a lot of frames and sometimes, if the frames have pictures in them, the price is too much. I liked the frame, but 15$ for not old and kind of cheesy painting off raggedy anne and andy? Nope. When you donate, the guys out back are efficient, and reasonably friendly when you speak to them. I am quite sad to be moving to Floida as I will miss the Broad Street Thrift Mart as bad as I have been missing The Shrimper!

We drove almost two hours because we heard about how wonderful this place was (on social media) only to be told there were no fitting rooms and they have a 30-day return policy and you can get...store credit. Now that we are living over 2 hours away we were waiting for checks to be mailed for items sold. after two months of "the check is in the mail" the last story about six weeks ago was that the Indian Trail Post Office is stealing her checks out of the mail... We were then told that she would mail a check in a plain envelope with her home address so the mail people would not know it was a check.
