We moved here over a year ago with our two miniature schnauzers. Our long time vet recommended a vet in Deland and on my first visit there asked for a grooming recommendation. He only gave me one - Bark Ave. What a great recommendation. Miniature schnauzers can be a bit tricky to get right but they look dog show worthy every time. They go the extra mile - they have a new cloth collar every time and our princess always returns with glue on earrings that are adorable. Sometimes the male comes home with a bow tie. We've moved a bit for work over the last 10 years so we've been through a few groomers. None of our other groomers competed in grooming contests or attended conferences like the groomers at Bark Avenue. They work hard to improve their craft. And our doggies love it there - as soon as I pull into the parking lot, they start barking like crazy. Amy has been working with our long hair chihuahua Trei for 12 years. We got him at 4 weeks old (from a rescue WAY too young) and he already had an attitude! If it hadn't been for her, I'm not sure how things would have turned out because even as a puppy he had severe biting issues. She's a teacher of all things dogs, trainer, master groomer and owner of Bark Avenue doggie day care and grooming. She has consistently given us spot-on advise for any behavioral issues and she's the only one I trust for bathing and grooming needs. I've been bring my fur baby here for 3 years. She is a tiny Yorkie and a rescue who is very timid of new people and places. The staff at Bark Avenue goes the extra mile to make her feel safe and comfortable while she is being groomed. To be honest, I wouldn't trust anyone else to groom her. The shop is always spotless clean and they understand each dogs personal needs. The open glass concept at the shop allows you to see the behind the scenes grooming going on and watch your fur baby if you should choose to wait around while they are being pampered and groomed. I am absolutely thrilled with the impeccable service that we received at Bark Avenue for grooming our skin-sensitive Frenchie baby. Our furry friend came out looking exceptionally clean and neatly trimmed, just as we had hoped. Although his fur wasn't overly long, he definitely needed some tidying up, and the stylist did a fantastic job! This place was incredibly friendly and informative, providing us with a brief tour of the facilities and sharing their expertise with us. We truly appreciated his attentiveness to our pet's needs. I had read all of the wonderful reviews about Bark Avenue so I decided to give them a try. Oh boy, do they ever live up to every single one of those great reviews!!! We had such a wonderful experience. My dog Jack is an elderly Chinese Crested. The ladies at Bark Avenue greeted us with smiles and friendliness. And it's a very nice clean place! Right away they wrapped Jack in a warm blanket to keep him comfortable until it was time for him to be groomed. Within a couple of hours they called me and he was ready to go. He looked like a show dog!!! We love Bark Avenue and I will be taking Jack there to be groomed from now on! read more

I have a rescue dog (Maddy) that had a miserable life for close to 8 years. After I rescued her, I began taking her to Bark Avenue for bathing & grooming mostly but also for socialization with the other dogs in play care. She was initially not a fan of the noise from the dryer inside the building, so they went the extra mile and dried her outside where the noise was not so confined. She did much better and now is not bothered by it. She deserves to get pampered and they do a great job. I brought my baby girl Gemma there for her very first grooming session and I was so nervous because I wasn't sure if they would treat her the way I do... Well to my surprise Gemma looked beautiful and she had a great experience. The place was clean and the people were very friendly. The owner and I am sorry I am bad with names, but she came out and reassured me Gemma would be fine. I love this groomer! My dog Jagger comes home not only looking great, but smelling great. I can tell they love dogs by the way they treat them. Amy does Jagger for me and I am always pleased. I also like that you can see their work area so I know it's clean. I've seen them work on other dogs and they are nice to the dogs. (I have seen places that aren't) I feel good about dropping off my "baby" as I trust them totally. I know he's being treated well and that is important to me. read more

Iv've been taking my pets to Amy for years now! Just recently when I was back in town visiting she was kind enough to fit both of my dogs in. Scheduling was easy and Amy and her staff did an amazing job. Both of my dogs are rescues and are very weary of new people and situations, her staff made them calm and they came back happy and well groomed! I have been with Bark Avenue for the past few years and I just love the outstanding grooming job they do with our golden doodle. In the past I hated leaving our Meme behind at other groomers because she would be dropped off early morning & the poor girl would not return home till late afternoon. I love the fact that I can drop Meme off early morning and have her back home 1-2 hours laters. I just brought my dogs to FL from WI last week and they needed a little TLC. Bark Avenue went above and beyond! I could drop off my dogs anytime between 7:30am and 10:00am and when they were done, they called but didn't push me to come and get them immediately. Great grooming service. Showed genuine concern for our dog who will turn 15 in 2 months. Tried to groom on one day and our dog got really stressed from other dogs, so they rescheduled for an earlier time. They did a beautiful job grooming him and he was in good spirits when finished.
