I've been taking my dogs to Bark Ave. since 2015. My 130 lb. rottweiler was a regular & loved it there so much he would get excited when I said the word "Salon!" cuz he knew he was going to Jo & her team. (There was a Vet or two who could not even examine this big dogs ears "because he growled so much" Jo & Nadia had him happy with ears & nail trim). I have fostered a frightened, chihuahua that no one could touch & they won her over. They are loving with my new Cavalier puppy's first experience- he went in apprehensive & comes out happy & beautiful. This is a business that has limited appointments to give. It's not hard to honor my appointment time, they send reminders to my phone. I usually get to bring him in by 8am & he's ready by 12-12:30. I worked there for four days. owner is extremely unorganized and condescending. i am an extremely respectful employee and I had read somany bad reviews but when I first met her she seemed nice and the pay was average for a dog bather. we had a meeting every morning where she basically spends what should be an uplifting team bulding meeting was always a threatening meeting where she actually informed me my additional job would be as acting in her stead as closing and opening the shop. she told me a monkey could do my job and would not allows for not one break lunch 10 min break after 8/9 hours of bathing 27 on average dogs.eating my lunch over the trash can inhaling it. the other employees constantly came to me apologizing for her careless tongue and down right rudeness. not even exchanging good morning was a pleasantry I experienced. In addition she refuses to allow you Dr appoinmebts anf days 10 min breaks which are federal law are unacceptable while she herself sits there. She also in addition to making you feel like you work in a sweat shop violates federal usda laws on animal safety. not once when a new client called was there a request for vaccine records. animals bathed in unsafe pairings which could cause injury to an employee or other dogs. sick dogs coming in not sent home for a buck over the wellness of her clients dogs which she brags are the wealthiest in town. I was appalled and quit immediately bc I was not going to be held responsible for her unaccountability to the basic laws of animal care. so I give it a thumbs down for client or working relationships. she is mean and.even stated people better watch out bc she has a past. i did not know what that meant but she has no clue what bridges she burns. or cares who the people she treats poorly knows. we all have pasts we all know important people but treating people with basic human rights an kindness priceless read more

what a great place, took almost 6 hours to groom my baby, because he has been traumatized by other groomers, Nadia was wonderful, took her time, showed so much love for my baby. I will be a customer for life. Hats off to Nadia again for taking the time to talk to me about solutions and what my baby needs. She did an excellent job, actually cut his nails where as other groomers just filed, and not a lot, he looks great. These people really work with you. BY FAR THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE. I had an appointment scheduled for 3 of my dogs on 1/3 after already waiting 3 weeks for an appointment. I wake up to a "your appointment has been cancelled" text without explanation! I try to call the shop , no one answered and I also texted the business owner and she did not reply! I'm not sure what I did to have my appointment canceled and NO ONE will return my calls! Unnecessary and very bad customer service , needless to say I WILL NOT recommend anyone new to your shop. I was pleasantly surprised by how wonderful the staff was. They were very personable and what was shocking to me was that Just 2 day back I took my baby to PetSmart only to find out when I picked him that they could not cut his nails or groom him because " He moves a lot and was not still." Well guess what? That's why you are Pet groomers, to handle all sort of pets, big or small, puppies or adult dogs. Yet when I took Scruffy 2 days later to Bark Avenue, they weren't just a friendly staff to Scruffy, they were done with everything in 30 minutes and did an excellent job! This is the best dog groomer in the area. Period. I know this because I tried 5+ other groomers before finding Jo and her team. We have a 2yo Havanese, and we kept having the same issue of groomers cutting his hair too short, in spite of specific instructions not to. I've brought him in 5 times now and each time they've nailed it. Even his "summer do" looks fluffy and cute and not scraggly! Absolutely the WORST groomer/butcher I've ever experienced. Gave explicit instructions to just trim our dog and they completely shave the dog down to the skin. Asked to trim nails and this didn't even happen. Personnel was extremely rude!!! Could care less about customer...... I've waited about a month to write my review of this "business" online because I have been so angry. I wanted to at least be rational. When I called and made an appointment I told them she had anxiety problems. They said they understood and they would be fine with it. They could not give me a price over the phone but said they would let me know after they did her how much it was. That was problem number one. I took her in and no cause for concern at this point. After four hours of not hearing from them I called and they said "well she was ready but she pooped in her kennel so we've had to do her all over again." Come to find out for four hours they never took her out. A dog with that kind of kennel anxiety would clearly need to go out. After a total of five hours they called and said she was ready. I went and picked her up. From the moment I walked in to the moment I walked out they told me everything she did "bad." She barked she whined she wouldn't stop looking at the door she wouldn't hold still she doesn't like her paws touched. I get it. I told THEM that. I didn't need reiteration. Staff was rude and not trained. I'm Going back to my other groomer. He is farther away but is professional, positive, great groomer, and interested in doing a good job. These people just don't care. Unless a dog has bitten someone or another dog, don't tell the owner all of the bad qualities of their dog. Chances are they already know. You all are in the wrong business. A very professional and caring staff! I have a new rescue pup who was very nervous. The owner herself took him and held him till he stopped shaking! When I picked him up, he didn't look like a scruffy shelter dog. He looked like a million bucks and was happy! The groom was exactly as asked for, she even threw in a little extra for his first visit! Will def be a repeat customer! They butchered my dogs. They shaved them so close you could see there skin. I guess that was easier then actually "Grooming" them. My dog was very traumatized! He actually shook for over 24 hours! I feel like it was dog abuse. Don't subject your fur babies to this. read more

Seriously the worst grooming job I've ever seen! I have brought my dog to Bark Avenue for about a year now and normally had satisfactory experiences with them. However, the last time I brought him, they did a horrific job. My pup was still dirty! Had a brown dirty face (same as when I brought him in), clearly they take no time to actually clean the dogs they are supposed to "groom." I was so dissatisfied that I brought him back in to show them what I was talking about. The manager and staff were completely rude and looked at me like I was crazy.
