I waited a couple days to write a review hoping someone would call and offer an apology or explanation, but I guess they have other priorities. I drove in from Hahnville with my dog for a 1pm appointment allowing enough time to get her checked in before I had to be somewhere else. I arrived early to find the doors locked and lights out despite the hours posted on their door. I assumed they had stepped out for lunch and would be back for our appointment. I left 3 phone calls between 1pm and 2pm with no answer, but could only wait 15 minutes at that location before my next appointment. I did leave a voicemail each time. Since I had my dog with me and it was 100 degrees outside I had to bring my dog inside my next appointment because I didn't have time to take her back to Hahnville first. An explanation and apology might have gone a long way if they had taken the time to acknowledge how much inconvenience they caused. read more

I took my three pound Yorkie to Jamie's and this was the best bath and style my pet has ever received. My dog has been turned away by other groomers cuz she won't sit still and bites at the equipment. Another groomer accepted her and wounded her neck area. But finally, I found a groomer that is able to handle this tiny terror and her cut was absolutely beautiful. I tried to take a good pic of her but she wouldn't keep still for the camera. They request payment before you're even able to get your pet back. When she did hand me my dog, I noticed there was a hard area under his neck. He had a gash in his neck on which they put super glue to try to hold it together. It was left for me to find; the groomer didn't mention it until I asked her what happened. Her response to my questioning was "oh, the clippers must have cut him." The owner could only offer an apology and took my dog back to finish grooming what her employee had failed to do. Needless to say, I will not be bringing my sweet baby back to this establishment. read more

Just moved to NOLA and needed to find new groomer for my dog who was way overdue for a clip. Called Jamie's Purple Pooch this morning and they were able to add my dog Pepe on same day. They even made an accommodation when I told them he gets stressed around other dogs, to bring him when they had fewer pups around. They called me as soon as they were done so he was only there a couple of hours. When I arrived to pick him up, he was hanging out under the desk near one of the ladies. Everyone was very gentle with him and he seemed very happy with his new haircut. His trim looked good, his coat was soft and he had a little kerchief around his neck. I saw a couple of other groomed dogs who also looked good. Price was very reasonable with $5 off coupon. Ease in making appt was exceptional. All in all, excellent experience. My dog and I are quite pleased with Jamie's Purple Poochie Parlor. I was previously taking my dog to another groomer in Metairie, but I have to say that Jamie's has been a much better experience. I feel just as excited to walk in the store front as my dog is and he is always in good spirits when I pick him up. I wish I lived a little closer to this place, but I'm most concerned with how my dog is treated and I leave this groomer with no worries. read more

We have been taking our little Shih Tzu there for years and Ms. Debbie, the owner, is a terrific person and her assistant, Christina, is an excellent groomer and dog lover. They do it all: nails, ears, glands expressed, eyes and have given our little "Sake" all that she needs and all at a very reasonable price! We just can't say enough good things about this place. I previously left a 1 star review but I must correct it. After my review, the owner called me to see what exactly happened since I was a returning customer. I explained the entire bad experience, including where she texted me since she was out of the salon that day for medical reasons. We discovered that my entire bad experience was the result of a terrible employee, including her impersonating the owner. The owner apologized profusely and offered to fix it at no charge to me. The employee responsible is.......no longer there. I brought my dog back today and he had a ball. Lots of loving all day and he looks great. This is the customer service I remember from last year and precisely why I will return to this business!!!! read more
