If I could rate Loreto a "0", I would do it without hesitation. He is not who he appears to be. Grooming skills: He badly sliced our dog's paw. He shaved too closely to our dog's skin that it was very red in multiple places. He supposedly cut our dog's nails, but they kept getting caught on our rugs and we were forced to go to our Vet to get them trimmed. Since having the Vet trim our dog's nails, there has not been any getting caught on the rugs. We have seen Loreto go from taking an hour to groom our dog down to 30 minutes. He is cutting corners and not doing quality work. Scheduling and Commitment: You can never count on Loreto to remember appointments he makes with his customers. He has been having our groomer for over a year and we always have to chase him down and reconfirm to make sure he arrives when he committed to. He has shown up without his shears. He has called and canceled saying he is having a bad day and can't make it. However, with our last appointment, when we called to confirm, he admitted forgetting to write it down and had an attitude when we wanted to have an appointment in the same week. He complained that he had other appointments and was unable to fit us in...so the people who made appointments after us got priority treatment over us. And he does not follow up when it suits him....he has not bothered to call us back when he said he would two days ago. He has bragged to us that he is trying to only work three days a week and he tries to put as many customers in a day as he can. An admirable goal, but why sacrifice your customers and their animals to achieve it. He clearly does not have your animals best interest in mind....his schedule....Yes...time off is very important to him! His pocketbook...most definitely!! We know him very well and I have been trying to get my wife to leave him for another groomer for a long time. His unprofessional behavior and rude treatment toward her finally pushed my wife over the edge. His harming of my dog did it for me a long time ago. What a joke of a company! I would NEVER recommend this guy. I scheduled him about 10 days out and was confirmed for our Tuesday 230-3 appt on MONDAY the day before. Come Tuesday morning he is blowing up my phone which isn't turned on because I'm busy with work (go figure) about wanting to come earlier. When my phone was turned back on I had a ton of messages from him and apparently he tried to call me a bunch from his messages about wanting to come earlier. I'm very picky with the quality of care my fur babies receive while being groomed. This is why I refuse any type of crate drying situation. From their first groom he was very mindful of findings spots on both of the dogs that may get hit with the clippers. And they were never hit with his clippers, ever! All around we had a great experience! He was on time to our appointment and friendly. We have three mini Australian Shepherds and all three are neurotic in their own special way lol he handled each of their personalities with gentle ease and made sure they were more than comfortable. All of their cuts turned out great and they smell even better! My dad sat and watched the whole process (because our sensitive dogs can be emotional basket cases) but we've never seen them do better in the hands of a groomer. This was my first time using a mobile groomer and I must say I was disappointed. I was charged extra for my dog being matted however all he did was shave her. He refused to trim her nails because they were "too long", her hair had uneven patches and she smelled as if he didn't even bathe her, and rather than cleaning the hair out of her ears he just clipped it so now my dog is digging at her ears. So, our dogs are very picky, a 10 year old Schipperke with separation anxiety who takes forever to groom, and a small 4 year old pinscher mix who takes about 10 minutes, tops. Before hand, our Schipperke had been injured at a Petsmart groomers (clipped her toe) and she's been wary of the groomers ever since! But the groomers here made her feel right at home! He took the time to make her feel comfortable and safe before starting, as he did with our smaller dog. Not only were they both happy after they were finished being groomed, but they have NEVER smelt so good and been so soft! And this was a last minute before the holidays grooming appointment!
