Our dog is a large dog, but she's really uncomfortable with people touching her paws. The minute they employee grabbed her paw, she pulled it away. I expected the employee to ask me to comfort my dog and give her treats, since that worked in the past, but she just cornered my dog against a wall. Then she tightly grabbed my dogs feet so she physically couldn't run away. I could not believe this! I could tell my dog was really uncomfortable and nervous. Harshly grabbing a dog and pushing it against a wall is very inhumane. Thankfully my dog is polite and she didn't nip the employee, but other aggressive dogs might. Bath & Biscuits is a fantastic place to wash your dog, but you should never get their nails clipped there!

You really can't beat the great tubs and having all the soaps towels, etc., that you need available. We never use the dryer because by the time I'm done Max is already so traumatized and he dries pretty fast once we walk around the block a little bit. The pricing is also very reasonable. The bath and nail trim was only $28 for Max, who is about 78 pounds. I'm just giving you the weight because I know a lot of places charge by weight and that will give you an idea for your own doggie. I had a very disappointing experience with Waggers. When I first called to make my appointment, I…read morespecifically explained that I have a 3-month-old puppy who has not yet received his rabies vaccine. I was told that this would not be a problem because they do not require puppies to have a rabies shot for grooming. When someone called later to confirm my appointment, I asked again to make sure. I clearly stated that this was my puppy's first grooming appointment and that he still had not received his rabies vaccine. Once again, I was assured that it was not an issue. However, when I arrived for the appointment, I was turned away because my puppy didn't have a rabies vaccination. This was incredibly frustrating because I had already made special arrangements at work, took my lunch break later than usual, and coordinated with my daughter to pick up the puppy after his appointment. If this is your policy, that's completely understandable--but I should have been told that from the beginning, especially after asking twice. Instead, I wasted my time, rearranged my day, and left feeling very disappointed. Better communication and consistency with customers would have prevented this entire situation.

They use positive reinforcement for their training method. Midtown Mutts also offers dog walking, 1:1 sessions and pet sitting. My neighbor uses them for pet sitting and she loves them. You pay based on how many visits and the length of time you want them to stay. They take pictures everyday they visit to show you how your pet was that day. Pros: they have a membership and you can choose 1 or 5 classes a month. These classes don't roll over if you don't use them - I made the mistake of thinking they do. They have a calendar where it lists the classes, time and topic. The calendar is a bit clunky and confusing so it takes a bit to figure out how to navigate. If they don't have too many people sign up and you need help in a certain area, they accommodate your request. They have answered my numerous questions and been very patient. I can say my puppy REALLY enjoyed class because he was showered with treats also as a lab, he never turns food down! Cons: if there is a large class and the gym in the same business structure is busy, parking can be a bit hard to find.
