Unfortunately, my first experience was extremely disappointing. I specifically booked with Mya because her profile says she specializes in poodles, and the appointment I selected listed a weight range of 45-75 lbs. Before the appointment, I sent four photos of my dogs' vaccination records--two from their veterinarian in Texas showing their rabies vaccinations and two from Las Cuevas here in Carlsbad showing their kennel cough and canine flu vaccinations. I accidentally arrived an hour early because I keep my clocks on Texas time for work. When they told me I was early, I apologized and said no problem, I would come back in an hour. As I was leaving the parking lot, Mya called and told me the paperwork showed my dog was scheduled to receive her rabies vaccine the next day. I explained that the upcoming vaccine was actually the second dose of the canine flu vaccine, and that the rabies vaccination was on the records from the Texas veterinarian. Mya then said she would have to go back, pull up the email, and review the files. That was frustrating because I was being told my paperwork was incorrect before all of the records I submitted had apparently even been reviewed. Then, while I was still leaving the parking lot, I received another call from a coworker telling me that Mya was not comfortable with large dogs, was behind schedule, and that I would need to rebook. I completely understand if a groomer is not comfortable handling a larger dog, but that should be communicated before the customer arrives, especially when the groomer's profile says she specializes in poodles and the booking system allows appointments for dogs in that weight range. Between the confusion over vaccination records that had already been provided and canceling the appointment only after I arrived, this was a frustrating waste of my time. If the real issue was that you didn't appreciate my frustration during our conversation, just own that. Don't blame the size of my dogs after accepting the appointment. This whole experience wasted my time. I love Tractor Supply and genuinely wanted to have a good experience here, but based on how this appointment was handled, I would not recommend this grooming location.

We showed up on time and were greeted immediately by Micah and her young daughter. She gave me some different options and explained the process in detail. It's so important for us to have wonderful vets. La Cueva always goes above and beyond for us. Recently I took one of our sweet chickens in to see Dr. Courtney. She took wonderful care of our feather baby, called us with reports and gave first class care all around. It's so nice to see such a thoughtful and kind person who understands how much we love our chickens just like our fur babies. Dr Walker Sr. is also first class. He worked closely with me to save a tiny bottle baby kitten who's thriving and happy now. He always goes above and beyond for our animals. I also can't say enough good things about Linda at front desk and the rest of the staff. Everyone is always helpful and cheerful. Everyone there is a true animal lover. I think their prices are very fair given the service we get too. What a blessing it is to have them here in Carlsbad.
