I reached out to Linda, and, even though I was asking for services that were outside her normal business hours she worked with me to provide a safe place for my baby. My dog is rarely left in a kennel and I was a bit nervous leaving her behind but when I came to get her, she seemed confident following Linda out of the area where she was kept while I was gone. That made me feel like she must have had a good experience with Linda and put me at ease. The only thing that was a "negative" and not even worth taking away a star is that Linda only takes cash or checks and I am strictly a credit card girl (gimmee ALL the points), but the value of the service is wonderful and she even gave us a little gift bag and a report card when we left. It had some nice pens, good treats and a little plushie that Riley has taken an instant liking to - she was even using it as a pillow this morning, back at home, when I left for work. Unfortunately, my first experience was extremely disappointing. I specifically booked with Mya because her profile says she specializes in poodles, and the appointment I selected listed a weight range of 45-75 lbs. Before the appointment, I sent four photos of my dogs' vaccination records--two from their veterinarian in Texas showing their rabies vaccinations and two from Las Cuevas here in Carlsbad showing their kennel cough and canine flu vaccinations. I accidentally arrived an hour early because I keep my clocks on Texas time for work. When they told me I was early, I apologized and said no problem, I would come back in an hour. As I was leaving the parking lot, Mya called and told me the paperwork showed my dog was scheduled to receive her rabies vaccine the next day. I explained that the upcoming vaccine was actually the second dose of the canine flu vaccine, and that the rabies vaccination was on the records from the Texas veterinarian. Mya then said she would have to go back, pull up the email, and review the files. That was frustrating because I was being told my paperwork was incorrect before all of the records I submitted had apparently even been reviewed. Then, while I was still leaving the parking lot, I received another call from a coworker telling me that Mya was not comfortable with large dogs, was behind schedule, and that I would need to rebook. I completely understand if a groomer is not comfortable handling a larger dog, but that should be communicated before the customer arrives, especially when the groomer's profile says she specializes in poodles and the booking system allows appointments for dogs in that weight range. Between the confusion over vaccination records that had already been provided and canceling the appointment only after I arrived, this was a frustrating waste of my time. If the real issue was that you didn't appreciate my frustration during our conversation, just own that. Don't blame the size of my dogs after accepting the appointment. This whole experience wasted my time. I love Tractor Supply and genuinely wanted to have a good experience here, but based on how this appointment was handled, I would not recommend this grooming location.

More often than not, however, am I asked by an employee who is walking towards my direction if I need assistance. The worst was when they were restocking the dog food before Halloween 2022 and there is no where to go down the aisle. None of the three employees who paused briefly to see me with a shopping cart asked if there was anything they could get me. That still rubs me wrong because I have to see these same employees on a regular basis. I guess their adoption program has been canceled since the COVID-19 pandemic as I never see a single animal anymore. If I could shop elsewhere for my pets, I probably would. They have a rewards program. It's free to join. You buy 10 bags of food and get 1 free. Additionally, Petsense and Tractor Supply customers can be a part of the "Neighbor's Club." You can earn points by shopping at both stores where 500 points = $5 reward.
