We were very pleased with grooming our Yorkie at the first visit. The second experience was the complete opposite. The bark room was short staffed. Instead of 2-3 hours our Yorkie was there for over 4 hours. Her face was poorly trimmed. Her tail was knotted and they wanted to shave the tail. We declined. Our Yorkie began to smell after 1 week and her hair did not shine as it usually does after a good wash. We subsequently had her bathed at our vet and with loving care they deknotted her tail. This facility is hit and miss and we will be looking for another groomer. read more

I went in today for the first time with our new puppy, who needed a nail trim (complementary here!). Despite having a couple of other dogs on their grooming tables, the staff was immediately responsive and got right on the trim and filing. Taking your dog to get a haircut could be a difficult task, especially when they are 14. The first time he went to the Bark Room he had a seizure but the staff called immediately and stopped the haircut. When I picked up my dog, Max, the owner was holding my 5 pound Maltese to comfort him. They told us it was common for older dogs to get scared by the loud hair dryers. Kind as can be, Randy said to bring Max back free of charge so he could finish his cut BEFORE THE STORE OPENS. Thank you for making Max a happy lil pup and making sure he was safe! I would 100% recommend the Bark Room for anyone looking for top notch care for their pup. read more

First time we took Lucy in she had some matted fur and they did a good job taking care of her. Fast forward to our recent visit, it seemed like she was only given a bath and her nails done. We had done some trimming the week before around her face and it wasn't exactly done evenly. It didn't appear they did anything to even anything out or do any sort of trimming around her face. Also wasn't really styled either sort of looked the same as when we dropped her off . . . Definitely a disappointment - not sure if we will return again or not. This place was not what I expecting. The place is nice and the staff are friendly. However, the service that I requested was not done. I picked up my dog looking the same as I dropped her off. The only reason that I am giving them two stars is because the nails were trim nicely. I guess, you really need to go to their webpage and educate your self about each package. I will really advice that as customers request specific services, they should be inform their clients that either you cannot do it or what packages are available and refer them to your page, before having the customer make the appt,dropped the dog off and oops surprise... the dogs looks the same! I recently went to the Bark Room grooming spa and lounge and I don't often give 5 stars but I must say this was by far the best experience and professional gromming I have had for my dogs in all the places I've lived. I've lived in New York California and now Florida I have had many private and public groomers but Andrea the owner is so attentive and made me feel so comfortable. We love Bark Room! Anytime we're down in Boca Raton this is the only place we trust with our Jack Russell. She loves the staff here (they clearly love her too!) and the owner, Randy, always goes above and beyond to make himself available for questions or to address concerns. When we're up in NYC we go to a groomer who has cut our dog's nails too short and when we explained this to Randy and told him we were having trouble doing it ourselves he explained that when we can't come to him at Bark Room we can just buy a dremel to shave down her nails. Not only does this make our life way easier, but it shows how much he cares about his clients' dogs that he is more than happy to explain his techniques. We'd trust our dog with anybody at Bark Room and definitely recommend them! Plus, their social media is adorable! Check-in was great and they asked a lot of questions to ensure he was groomed how I preferred. He was done 1.5 hours...a record from previous groomers! Carrie agreed to a Maltese puppy cut, using at worst a #8 blade. My boy cane out SHAVED DOWN TO HIS BARE SKIN, shaking like a leaf & thoroughly traumatized. At first I was very impressed that they listened to me. I have new sheepadoodle and I brush and line comb him every single day. I donot miss but two days in 10 months to date. Every time I went in I asked if there was a problem with matting or my puppy misbehaving and each time the answer was no we love you and are one of our best clients and he is a sweet heart and never gives them a problem. It's the same answer every time. If you start to see matting or knots I need to know. Well 2 weeks before this Christmas they called while we waited at a cafe down the street and said they would try and save some of his fur but they didn't. He was shaved down to raw pink skin even his ears and face and two cuts on his ears. My dog was traumatized not to mention me. It is 5 weeks now and he is still not himself. Why can't a groomer see if I am not doing the correct job? When I asked this to Randy he said he can't tell people what to do. This is both our faults but they should have been checking my dog more thoroughly. Also shouldn't take 3-4 hrs every time you leave your dog. Destined to Die! Is what happened to my beautiful loving dog after he was groomed here! My dog was 10 yrs old & he's been groomed his entire life without any problems ~~Until he came here! He was a Shihtzu, I say was! Because we had to put him to sleep 2 weeks ago! In January we brought him in & when he got him home, he was seemed to be in pain by his mouth, he wouldn't even let me touch his mouth, he would Yelp if I grazed it, I thought that he was probably cut by the groomer but as the weeks passed I noticed his tongue was constantly out, it became more pronounced & he couldn't close his mouth! Also he couldn't pick up his food with his tongue! It seemed as though his tongue was backwards!! He couldn't eat his food anymore, we went to the Vet and he said his jaw has been dislodged ! He said what happened was the groomer probably pulled down his mouth roughly with force & caused his jaw to unhinge! He said he couldn't operate because he was 8yrs & it would be too risky. This continued to get worse & next he couldn't even eat so I started feeding him baby food! It was torture for him! He would try to eat a treat only if he kept his mouth facing upward so he could eat it slowly, because if he lowered his mouth it would fall out ! And then he could No longer retrieve it with his tongue!This last month was So so sad watching him struggle to eat!! He was always a ravenous eater, but now eating baby food became exhausting for him, because he wouldn't close his mouth & he had No control of his tongue!! This groomer did this to my darling boy & this is NOT where you should take your dog, if you love & adore him like we loved ours . I would be remiss if I didn't warn other dog owners of this treacherous horrible place !! read more
