Easy 5 star rating. When I ask my dog in the morning if he's ready for "Daycare," he becomes some mix of crazy and happy, and pulls me the whole way there. BarKadelphia was much needed in this neighborhood, being such a dog populated area with lots of pet parents who worry. Like myself. My dog can be very shy and timid, but by the second visit ( 1st one being complimentary by the way- awesome!) her tail was un-tucking and she starting mingling more with the other canine guests and the great staff. Jackie and John (and staff) really care about your pooch and ease them into the social scene there at your dog's own pace (They have different areas for different energy levels and different sized dogs). They also send email updates during the day as well as pics of your pup in action! I recommend them everywhere I go, dog parks, to neighbors, everyone! I have such piece of mind knowing they are around the corner to look after my little girl. read more

Our dog loves Barkadelphia. And we love it just as much. We've been to a few doggie daycares and we'd say that if you're really picky, and only want the best for your furry friend, most eagle-eyed people and well-screened dogs to interact with your pup, go here. For the same prices as other places, our boy gets two walks a day, just as much play time, and there's an outdoor area so he can enjoy some fresh air. Dogs are separated by size and all carefully screened to ensure they play nicely. And they're open Saturday!! You can pay by the hour if you need to run errands, or send him the full day if you have somewhere to be. It's why we came here in the same place, and a huge relief to our lives/schedules. Not to put other places down--we still send him to other daycares if Barkadelphia is full or other locales are more convenient, but we know he's in good hands when he's here, and will sleep well when he gets home. read more

We have been sending our two pups there since they were probably 6 months old and they love going so much they will excitedly try to get into the door and almost always know we are walking there! Barkadelphia is easily my dog Cosimo's favorite place in the world and it's easy to see why from the second you walk in the door. They are trustworthy, genuine and legitimately care about your pet as if it was there own. My dog goes once a week and I swear he wakes up Thursday knowing he is going to his favorite place as soon as he walks in the door he starts freaking out and body slamming the glass to get into the play area with his friends. My wife and I are moving out into the suburbs and this place will be the only thing we miss about living in Philly. We love Barkadelphia and couldn't recommend it enough! read more

Barkadelphia is the best, hands down! I struggled with leaving my dog at a few doggie daycares before I found Barkadelphia because it felt like the supervision was low and I didn't like to see my dog picked on by more aggressive dogs. Barkadelphia is so on top of it! There is always someone playing with and monitoring so that the dogs can play safely. All dogs are pre-screened before they are admitted so you know that your dog is going to have fun playing with equally friendly dogs. I love that they post pictures throughout the day to instagram so I can see what my fur baby is up to. I know when I leave my dog here she's in good hands. She always leaves excited and sleeps well once we get home. read more

I love BarKadelphia! More importantly, my little yorkie/chihuahua mix Roo loves it too! I trust Jackie and her team to take care of my baby girl while I'm at work, and it's a relief knowing I don't have to worry about her. They are accommodating, kind and professional and Roo leaves exhausted from a fun day of playing. In the winter months, she doesn't get enough exercise outside, as she is only 7 pounds and the cold can be overwhelming for her, so it's great knowing she can release some energy while playing at BarKadelphia. I've been bringing my dog Rusty here for almost two years -- he absolutely LOVES it and so do I! We're always warmly greeted by the Barkadelphia staff as he drags me through the door (the sprint usual starts about 2 blocks away when he realizes our destination and totally loses all self control) and they take such good care of all the dogs while they get to play and socialize all day. I live about a mile away and walk past several other doggie day cares on my way (one of which is literally out my backdoor) but Barkadelphia is just the best and well worth the extra walk. Jackie and team made us feel so at home right away with their personalized service. We knew this was the perfect match and they are SO much more than a doggie daycare to us. This team is like an extension of our family the way they know all about our pup, keep an eye on her allergies, and take the very best care of her. In our first 6 months of puppy parenthood, we often emailed Jackie and crew at all hours to ask for advice. They were always so quick to respond and so happy to help. I stopped by right before they opened and met the owner and her husband! I loved them and their dogs from the start! I knew that leaving my puppy ( more like my child) with them would be just fine! Finn comes home exhausted from playing with his friends at Barkadelphia all day-- I Love that they post pictures to their facebook page that you can see-- its fun seeing Finn but also all the sweet doggies he gets to play with. The place is nice and clean and they give great advice---regarding all things dog related. Jackie has stayed late a few times because I couldn't get out of work until 8. They are the best! They also work with Pet snobs to get the dogs groomed if you request it while they are they during the day-- we have not used this perk yet--- but its really nice knowing its available. read more

We love this place! Jackie & crew are amazing with all kinds of dogs. My dog has been going there for over two years and he LOVES to go. He normally walks at the pace of a snail but once he realizes where we are going he drags me, racing down the street and forgets all about me once we get in the door. This is my dog's favorite place on earth. He will LITERALLY drag me down the street in their direction at all hours (even when they're closed, which isn't often, their drop-in hours on Saturdays have come through for me on multiple occasions). All of the staff are super friendly and will recognize and call my dog by name and he goes right in, as happy as can be. If they can get a one year old golden retriever to sleep for two days straight after he gets home, they must be doing something right. I was worried and anxious at first leaving my dog in a new environment, but they carefully vet and screen each pup and require all relevant vaccinations, no exceptions. Pros: Just about everything. Cons: Not much. I guess you could say it's a little expensive, but it seems to be that doggy day care is expensive in general and for what you get here, I think I'd rather pay a little more and know that my little man is in the best hands. I am beyond grateful to have found BarKadelphia! It was referred to me and Atlas (my energetic black lab puppy) by another 'dog person' we met on a walk. From the moment Atlas and I walked into BarKadelphia, we felt welcome and Atlas felt right at home. Jackie treats all of the dogs like they are her own (she has two who hang out with the rest of the pack every day)--she knows each dog's personality very well and uses that information to make sure they get the most out of their time at BarKadelphia. The dogs play hard all day long and come home happy and completely exhausted. The staff even takes them on frequent walks during the day to strengthen good potty habits. The staff works with them on basic commands and developing good social habits. In the short time Atlas has been attending BarKadelphia (once or twice a week), I've noticed her confidence around other dogs become even stronger and her former mild possessive streak has been completely eradicated. I am also super excited for the webcams to be activated so I can watch my little girl play with her friends all day (while I slave away at the office). Oh, those lucky lucky dogs!!!! read more
