I've gone to this barbershop for the past 2 years out of convenience but I wouldn't recommend. Every time I go here I get bad /mediocre haircut. They always talk bad about how bad of a job the last person did even though it was them. 5 years since my first review of Barker-Jackson and I definitely say they are still going strong. They have social distancing measures in place, the shop is always immaculately clean, and all of the barbers there do a very good job. This is still my regular shop after I moved about 10 miles down the road. It's a hole in the wall, but the best barbers typically are! read more

I have been visiting this establishment for years. EVERY encounter and experience I have had with this establishment has been kind, professional and accommodating. The excellence of the haircuts and shaves provided are beyond any competitors in the region and at an extremely competitive price. On a personal note, as a person of color, I must say that, after seeing a recent review where race and ethnicity were brought up, I feel sorry for the woman who wrote this as a quick review of her other reviews (complaints) are laden with racial and ethnic references on why she (supposedly) received bad service. Awesome barber shop with affordable prices. I've been to a few of the barbers here and usually end up with a great precise cut (even though I don't have much to work with up top). It definitely beats going to some of the other well known chains around and never quite knowing what to expect with a haircut. I've taken my boys here as well and never had an issue. I had one pleasant experience here and one not. The first time I was treated nicely and had a good experience and a good haircut. The second time I got there at 6:15 when they close at 7. I apologized for showing up late and asked if I should come back another time. They insisted as long as I was in the door before 6:30, it was okay. I got a 12 minute haircut and didn't get my neck shaved, even after apologizing for coming in late. I left a mediocre tip for a short haircut and not the full service and then was given some choice words by an employee on the way out. I only get my beard trimmed about twice a year, so I'm pretty particular about it being done just the way I want. Over the last 7 years or so I've never been disappointed at this barber shop. Today a barber that was new to me was there and I'm glad I let her, Lenore, trim my beard. She took to time to listen closely and offered to go slow just so there wouldn't be any big mistake, and there wasn't. You can definitely trust this lady to take great care of you. Normally this place gets 5 stars from me. We love SAM!!! But yesterday my youngest wanted a haircut and Sam was off so we had to go to a different chair. Shilene i think is her name, blond woman. She did a decent job but then charged me full price adult for a child's haircut. Makes me wonder, not only that but we have been going here for years and I have watched her ask time and time again if people were law enforcement or military so she could thank them with a discount. Not that it's expected but I just thought it was cool of her to do that. I just got off work and was still in uniform and I don't ever ask for a discount but I have seen her give it to lots of people. So it just was odd that she not only over charged me for my 4yr olds haircut but then no discount. The only thing I can consider is sadly ethnicity being the only differing factor. I sure hope that's not why she over charged us. But either way, next time we will only drop by when SAM is there!!! read more

Probably the worst hair cut I've ever got. I asked for a simple medium fade with a 3 on top and leave the front the way it is. She shaved the front, that's when I started to be unhappy with it. I had to ask her to re do the fade 2x and explaining what it should look like before I finally gave up and left. She probably had good intentions but simply couldn't do a fade. The service itself wasn't bad, she noticed I wasn't happy Definitely not worth 10 bucks, leave it alone 16 (with their military discount). It's just a haircut and in a week or two it will be back, it's not a big deal. However, this is just a heads up if you are trying to find a good barber around. *i can only tell my experience with the Asian lady. I don't know what the other barbers services are like. read more

I saw a sign that said "Barber Shop" and decided to stop in. The lady that cut my hair was nice and the price was reasonable. Honestly, I probably wouldn't have given them another thought except I found myself in the same situation again last week. I walked in and immediately noticed their renovation. New counters, floors, and televisions. The last that did my hair last time was busy and I was immediately assisted by another female barber. I wanted another really close trim and I was in and out in under 40 minutes. Oh, and it was only $16! read more

Great place and was a terrific experience. Got the shave and a haircut with the $3 YELP coupon, No waiting on a Sunday and quite happy with the experience. Usually go to the Canton location, was surprised as they started opening on Sunday. The usual Canton location has a 90 min wait on a Sunday. Owner needs to get a better sign and place it by the road telling people they are there, especially at night and on Sunday's - would stop most males from the desperation after work or on Sunday's for the horrible $35 mall haircut. read more

After living in Canton for quite some time, then moving to Woodstock, I was having trouble finding a good barber - and found myself driving a long way back up to Canton to Barker-Jackson's location there. I'm not sure what type of Supercuts and Great Clips that David has found, but these are not the same. You won't find straight razor shaves at either of those places. In short, if you can recognize quality groomers and their craftsmanship, then I would recommend either of the Barker-Jackson locations. Unfortunately, I had to knock off a star due to this location's appearance. I can understand that it's new and they have to remodel, but they should have done so before opening to the public. They are giving the wrong impression (to those unfamiliar with their work) with such a terrible look and feel to the place. I've been going to B-J's barber shop now (including the Canton location) for years. So happy that there's a second location (and it's close to where I live) now. read more

I've been going for a few years and every experience has been enjoyable. Good haircuts, friendly service and standard pricing. They have been very nice when I've brought in my 2 year old and he has gotten compliments from the 2 toughest critics (Mom and Grandmother). Some mentioned no kids price, but the regular price is the same as the kids barber shops where they sit them in airplanes or race cars as barber chairs. The best haircut my son has had since we moved to Georgia. We've tried two other barbershops in the area that are closer to where I run errands. We will be returning here for his future haircuts. The atmosphere is trendy but still feels welcoming. The employees were friendly and said hello to us as we sat down. We waited no more than 10 minutes before my son got his haircut. This is an old-school Barber Shop that I get my hair cut at. I appreciate the fact that there is not blaring music or over-talkative barbers. Yet they are friendly and give great cuts. The shop is clean and quiet. A little more expensive than other shops, but not too bad. read more

This place is amazing. I've been living in marietta for a few months now and have tried at least half a dozen barber shops and this one tops them all. From the quality of the cut to the simplistic and laid back atmosphere that gives you the feeling you are getting a classic shave from one of those old times barber shops. I went to Barker-Jackson today for the first time based on reviews here on Yelp and I am very pleased with my haircut. I had been allowing my hair to grow for a long time to have the length on top that I wanted. I showed Sunny a couple of photos of the look I was going for and she nailed it! I had gone to a couple of other more expensive salons in the area while I was letting it grow and came out with harsh transitions between the short sides and longer top but Sunny blended it perfectly. Managed like a car wreck. Made appointment, showed up early, never called, asked and told to wait. Left after 30 minutes and got a great haircut down in the other end of the complex. Don't waste your time making appointments unless it is a Saturday and they are swamped. read more

Walked through the door and was immediately transported back to the corner barber shop that I would go to with my dad when I was a little kid. I was in desperate need of a shave, and got a great one. The shop is gorgeous and traditional with quality products and fast cuts. The services offered are amazingly priced and are always well done. As I had mentioned earlier, Samantha is my favorite Barber there. She's always friendly, nice and happy to help. She gives amazing advice on your cut and is always happy to make sure you get exactly what you want. I'd never dream of going to anyone else!
