Literally on the side of the road, there is limited parking beside the red barn. A beautiful spot and one of Nova Scotia's oldest wineries. Take a tour and do the tastings (3 for $5 or $8 depending on which you choose). The wine here is really good and the views are absolutely breathtaking out back. This is a nice place to pack a picnic and enjoy the incredible landscape or take a romantic walk through the vineyard and enjoy the day. Worth the trip for the view and the wine!

Tastings are free of their cider, wine and cellos and there's lots to try from dry to VERY sweet. While we prefer more dry ciders and wines, there are some interesting choices here for folks who aren't necessarily wine drinkers. If wine isn't really your thing, this is likely a good place to start your intro. Sweeter wines and ciders which will appeal to the novice. Their white wine was quite nice even though we're not white wine drinkers. It's very much like a Tidal Bay (Nova Scotia's flagship wine) and really good chilled. The rhubarb wine was surprisingly refreshing and nice on a hot summer day. The shop has lots of selection but the cider in plastic bottles was quite a turn off and in poor taste so we opted to have a glass each on the patio which has a great view but could use some work. Classier furniture and maybe some umbrellas would spruce the place up a bit. The staff was super friendly and the grounds are really peaceful. A little bonus is the owners have a decent selection of thrift items for a really great price throughout the shop. You can find some really unique dinner and glassware to bring home. Overall, this place has some really great potential but just needs a bit more attention. The yellow house on the hill is still a great spot to stop in and we'll be sure to check back again.

So I often judge places by how they treat us when we show up with our non verbal daughter in a wheelchair. I don't expect a lot in a winery too since she is a minor. EVERYONE was considerate and kind and talked directly to her and made sure we were comfortable. We did a couple of wine flights. Exceptional wines. So much so we got a case sent home to us.
