New favorite store! Unique, one of a kind finds found here. Carol is so personable and helpful. She not only talked to me on the phone providing me with tips and suggestions on how to begin my pre paint prep, but ALSO kept her store open after hours until I arrived and sold me on the amazing DIY chalk paint line! My project is complete and I could not be more pleased. I'll be stopping by this week to scoop up a can of top coat and show Carol my finished product pics! read more

I went into this cute store for the first time last week. The building looks like a Victorian house and is the perfect place to house such a sweet shop. I was so excited to find that my favorite author & Artist: Michael J. Kouri's books and art pieces are for sale there as well as his cards, paintings, and other unique pieces, too. Michael is a fantastic artist who works in a wide variety of mediums including miniatures, paper, textiles, etc. He's been on all kinds of TV shows with his books and his art which can be found in museums and private collections around the world and he has a huge following here in Southern California. His Disney themed "Haunted Mansion" art pieces and his clocks are some of the most sought after to collectors. Each year Michael designs and makes a piece of art inspired by his favorite attractions. He has spoken at the very exclusive, private Club 33 inside Disneyland, his pieces have sold in the parks, art galleries and private Disneyana club functions where he's lectured and where I first met him and bought his amazing art. His books are cool because when you read them you feel as though he is talking to you directly. - I love that! When the sales lady heard my excitement, she told me that Michael will be offering classes in the shop soon, too. I can hardly wait. The store features antiques, collectibles, furniture, vintage clothing, movie and TV show props, beautiful glassware, porcelain, jewelry, crystals and other neat things too. It's in the historic district of Newhall. Even though I don't live in the area, I know I'll be buying there again often. They also carry exotic food products, baby items, herbs, creams, lotions, and aromatherapy. hey also sell paints and offer classes on how to use them, but this shop is so much more than a paint store...if you love Antique/Boutiques, Barn & Charm is a shop you Have to check out. I wonder what neat Halloween and Christmas items Michael will be making and offering for sale this year? I can hardly wait. read more

Beautiful unique items, though I am not an antique expert, I find the look of most of the items to be original,authentic, and gorgeous. Except the table cloths always have stains, which is disappointing. However, I deducted 3 stars from the service I received yesterday. I went in the afternoon, if I had to guess around 12:15 or 12:30, not an unusual time for a store to be open on a Saturday, right? I open the door, and I start browsing around, only to be approached by a saleswoman who tells me they're actually closed, and they're setting up for an event that starts at 1pm. I said, umm OK, your door was unlocked, but I can leave and come back. She said no it's fine, you can look around. I said yes, but I'm here to actually buy items, will I be able to do that? I had a holiday party I was going to, and I was looking for gifts for the hosts, as well as some items for my home. She asked the store owner, who said that was fine. I browse around, pick out some items, but I felt very uncomfortable. That rubbed me the wrong way, they were all looking at me while I was shopping, I think the lady asked me once if I found everything OK, but it just felt like they wanted me out of there. I had to ask to put certain items behind their counter so I didn't have to carry everything, and I had to ask to be rung up at the counter. The lady behind the counter was the owner, she was quite rude and sarcastic, kept making snide jokes about how I snuck in there. I kept saying ma'am your door was open. She said passive aggressively well there was a sign on the door, but that's OK! Turns out the "sign" was a small piece of paper taped on the door with other signs as well, with microscopic lettering in it. Nothing anyone would have noticed, especially when the store should be open at that time with the door unlocked! LOL barely thanked me for my business, and she and the rest of the staff were more concerned with giving away free items or coupons for sales items, than with actually being kind and appreciative to someone who just spent about $200. She also laughed when I asked her if I could qualify for any of the gift bags, since I was the 1st person there and spent some money in the store, she said no because I wasn't waiting in the line I knew nothing about. I guess customers with their hands out take priority over customers actually buying ‍ I was incredibly put off by her and the staff. This is the 1st time I've met her, so little does she know that I've actually spent thousands in her store, as has my mother when she comes into town. We will not be back, and therefore she has lost 2 valuable customers. I purposely asked her if she owned Propinquities next door, she said no. Thank goodness, because I will continue shopping there. Equally gorgeous items, larger selection, and slightly better service. Everyone deserves respect whether they spend money or not, but business owners need to be careful who they are dismissive towards, just business sense alone she lost 2 customers who have spent and would have continued spending a great deal of money in her store. read more

nice place with plenty of cute knick knacks! a lot of candles and bar soaps in sustainable packaging (glass or paper) and it was nice to see a few lotions bottled in glass rather than plastic. there is a looot of stuff and it's definitely a fun place to check out. it's a bit expensive but the things they have are pretty cool. they take apple pay though which is a huge plus! read more

For us in the business last 25 years this was a let down. There were vintage items here and there. Sometimes even an antique, but the vast majority is new items from wholesalers which are produced in China. Unfortunately a lot of shops are going this direction. The first shop before B & C, was a bit better. I guess when choices are scarce, this seems better then nothing. In addition, a lot of space is taken up by chalk paint and chalk paint projects. Again us in the business see this as a fad and run from this technique. So with horrible parking and inexperienced help, I would just pass this up. Hopefully this will change. I truly topnotch shop that is worth an 45 minute ride, Agoura Antique Mart or Aubergine. Your mouth will drop. read more

Great little DIY/antique shop with a cute farmhouse feel. I'm always willing to stop by and take a peek around. I've found some really cool oil cans and other vintage knick knacks for friends from here, and pricing is pretty good too! It's very quaint but that's what gives it it's local charm :) Definitely worth stopping by from time to time. They get new items in every week. read more

Cutest store in Old Town Newhall! They offer a great selection of vintage, handmade and new items with good prices in many categories. The owner and staff are very knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. The store is clean and merchandised well, you can tell there's plenty of creativity. Where do I start! This store is so unique, it combines everything from antiques to dresses, painting classes to soaps. This little hole in the wall is the best place to find that little something you've been missing! Julie was a huge help to me! She helped us sell some of my great grandmas items after she passed that we had no room for! Also the soap. Omg. The soap. I had to agree with Julie in saying I'm primarily a liquid soap person, but she introduced me to the gardenia honeysuckle bar soap, and I'm in love! No sticky residue or dry skin! My skin stays soft and fragrant all day. The amber vanilla lotion is my new go to and made my tattoos heal in three days! This is definitely a favorite shop of mine now! read more
