You know, I really don't like negative reviews. But I'm having a hard time with this one. I tried to contact barnacle bill but they never got back to me. Completely ignored me. In the past I tried to contact them to find out how many kilojoules are in their meals (a fact that I believe should be clearly labelled but isn't) and had the same result. Just ignored.
So anyway...
My wife ordered a spoiler for 3 treasure chest over the phone. We had just picked up our Coles online shopping order and they forgot the salmon steaks we ordered. Which, unfortunately, was going to be our dinner. So I was hungry for seafood but couldn't bring myself to get greasy fish and chips. So we opted for barnacle bill.
I drove over to pick it up. Went to the counter and said I'm here to pick up an order for Annie. The girl behind the counter was just like "no order for Annie" with a blank stare. I asked her to check again. She asked what I ordered and I said a treasure chest. Nup, nothing. She ushered me along and out the way so she could serve others. I felt totally stupid. Maybe my wife accidentally ordered at another store. I know google can be a bit odd at times. So I called up all the stores around, noone had the order. Seriously what was going on?
I drove home. No food in hand. Got in the door and told my wife she has to call them. She checks the number. Yep definitely the Hallett Cove store. She calls them back. "oh yes, we have your order here, it's under anne-mary".
Ahhhh, now we get it! But seriously instead of eating cold, stale and greasy barnacle bill it would have been a whole lot easier it the staff member worked with me. Instead of dismissing me and ushering me along. The whole ordeal could have been avoided.
With that said the quality of the food was the same as normal and I remembered why we don't go there. Cardboard tasting scallops and squid just aren't my thing.
Still would be curious as to how many kilojoules are in their meals. They claim to be healthy but the excess grease on the packaging says otherwise. read more
