Improper electrical wiring in the garage for the lights . The door of the garage had been repaired by the previous owner by drilling bolts in it to hold it together No mention/ discovery of any these issues and appliances were not tested. Last but not least we discovered that the basement had previously seen water damage.. Do not trust this inspection team .. They did not measure up to their Business statements on the web site. "We strive for excellence with each and every inspection we do so as not to miss anything which would impact upon your peace and enjoyment of your home" This did not happen.. I had the house re inspected and found this was not a quality report. Signed Mr Grumpy Pants

The inspections are non-evasive and we look at the exterior siding, roof, plumbing/electrical systems, and the interior finishing. We also go into the attics and into basements/crawlspaces. We will also come across smaller fixes that we will let our clients know about. When you buy a condo, there are a few things in it that you would be expecting to use on an almost daily basis. Things like the washer, the dryer or the dishwasher. One would think that when you hire a company to do a $500 "Ultimate Condo Inspection", they would take these things into consideration, and spend a few minutes during their inspection to test. Well, not so with Pillar to Posts.  My mom used them to check out a condo that she was getting ready to buy. After closing the deal and moving into her new condo, she ran the first load of dishes. Within a few minutes, a noticeable amount of water began leaking from the bottom of the dishwasher and into the kitchen.  It immediately freaked her out, so she called me for assistance. Best case scenario, around $500-$1,000 to replace the dishwasher. Worst case scenario, tens of thousands of dollars in potential water damage to the unit or the units below over the last number of years. When you hire a professional to perform a home inspection, especially an "Ultimate Home Inspection", you'd expect them to stand behind their work, wouldn't you? With Pillar to Posts, this was not the case. We waited days between responses regarding the issue - even though it could have been a mistake indicating tens of thousands of dollars of damage. Even after multiple back and forths clearly stating that we wanted them to rectify the issue, they would not accept any responsibility for it. Their responses to this issue varied from "We only do a quick on/off test as a courtesy to you", "It's in the fine print that we're not required to test them", "Our inspection is not a warranty of any kind" to it was outside the scope of my inspection and even if I had checked it it may not have leaked for me". To the business, I would suggest updating your guidelines to spending an extra 10 minutes to test any water-connected appliances. To conclude, I would think twice before trusting this company with the inspection of your new home. If they miss a crucial part of the inspection, it could cost you tens of thousands of dollars without recourse from them.

At the recommendation of our friends who had just had a home inspection done by them, we called Pillar to Post We received excellent friendly service, they had the right tools, were knowledgeable, thorough and went the extra mile for us, and it looks like they have been able to discern the problem and now we can go ahead getting the right people to fix it. What a relief! Thank you Marty and your team, you certainly went above and beyond to help us rectify this ongoing problem. A very grateful customer and I highly recommend them.
