Nice barnes&noble. The mall is kinda empty and this is the only place that I could walk and looked around. The second floor is nice and quiet. My baby napped really well. There were seats next to the windows, so I sat there looking out. The cafe downstairs serves starbucks but doesn't take the app scan. It was fine though, the lady working there was nice and coffee was decent. read more

This is a really nice Barnes and Nobles located within Brookfield Square shopping mall. Like many of the Barnes and Nobles inside malls, this one also has an upstairs. They have a nice book selection for kids, a café upstairs to sit back and relax at while enjoying some coffee and a pumpkin scone. Those who come here can either enter through the front of the store or from the side inside the mall. While visiting here, the staff was nice, so no complains here. Just your regular cookie cutter B&N. TIP: Free WiFi and for those who come here with a Nook, they can read one book for free for the first hour. Not bad. Love this B&N -- it's one of the better ones. There's something about a two-story bookstore that that makes me feel breathless (in a good way) before I even walk in. This despite inherently knowing it's not really any bigger than a one story. I just know there are potential awesome discoveries within and that when I'm done with one floor I still have another to go. This B&N has the usual stuff including story times for the kids to keep them occupied while you roam the stacks, or shop in the mall. There's even the requisite Starbucks. There's not a lot to say about a B&N that hasn't already been said, it is a chain after all; but if you're looking for a bookstore in a location where they'll be something for everyone nearby, this is an ideal location. read more

The bookstore itself is wonderful. However I went to the cafe in Barnes and Noble today and the staff member helping me seemed annoyed. The chip reader did not read my card correctly even after I put my pin in, and the staff member proceeded to say that the transaction didn't go through. I ended up paying in cash only to look at my bank account later to realize I had been charged on my card for the order as well. I have misplaced the receipt since. I am very unhappy with the service I received from this member. read more

Barnes & Noble is my favorite bookstore ever. There is a wide selection of books (and games which my husband is usually looking at) as well as DVDs & CDs. Staff are always helpful in answering questions and helping me locate things. It's nice that there is a nook recharging station as well as a Starbucks in the bookstore. If I could set up a cot in the store and live there forever, I would. It would make me a happy person :) read more

This a great place for my boys and I to hang out while my wife shops at the mall. The cafe is very comfortable with a good selection of snacks and drinks. A bit pricey for the snack but well worth it over the constant whining of two boys (and their dad) being dragged from store to store. I would not buy books here unless you can't wait for an online retailer to ship it to you. But I have to admit we have given in to the occasional kid demand that "they need the book now!" read more

Is this a bookstore or a bar?? The music is SO LOUD I can't even think, much less browse for books. Plus it's this totally random mix of old standards next to irritating pop music. It's bad enough they've razed whole sections to make room for games and toys and home goods. But now they are forcing readers out by .... by... well I have a good word for it but I can't think of it because I'm still in the store and there's a female pop star screaming KISSIN YOU MISSIN YOU OOH!!!! in my ear. read more

I was a little early for dinner up there so I perused the store to find a great layout. The store is wide open and is in such neat order. The employees were extremely friendly, the washroom was clean, and most importantly - there is a Starbucks here! read more

It saddens me to see a bookstore with about 4 rows of Christian Life books but a small corner of Science books. Try picking up a book with facts rather than silly fairytales that you nit-pick through anyway. read more

I don't have a complaint as far as books goes. My complaint is with their cafe. I got a coupon for buy one get one cookie. Even with that the cookies are $2.50 each (a little pricey in my book) but thought I'd get some. NOT WORTH IT! I got the peanut cup one, which in the case, it has several peanut butter cups sitting on the top. Mine did not even resemble what was in the case. I also asked for a salted sea salt caramel. Got home, had a sugar cookie. Didn't know it was that hard to tell them apart. So overall, don't waste your money. I did write to corporate and received a reply basically saying we are sorry that happened. I would have preferred a refund. This wouldn't stop me from buying a book there, but for a snack I will go to the food court. read more

I love books-there is just something about holding a book and turning the pages that is magical for me, I can never picture myself on the e reader bandwagon ! I can come here to B&N and lose myself for an hour finding books I want to buy and read. The cafe is nice, great place to take a break while looking for new reads. My only complaint about this B&N is that the women's restrooms always smell terrible, I don't know what it is but it seems people like to do their #2's here -kinda gross! read more

Barnes is always an experience! They are well stocked and have lots of variety. There are plenty of staff members to help locate items if there is any need. I always see people sitting and enjoying browsing through books. The music is soft unlike other mall stores. It is a pleasure shopping there! read more

Barnes and noble has some quality books, however their brooks are overpriced and i think that it smells weird.

When I moved to the UK, I swore one of the things I would miss was Barnes & Noble, particularly my usual store in the 'ville. When I moved back to the U.S. B&N was unfamiliar territory for me. It was like a long lost friend that I was trying to become reacquainted with. Problem is that I don't know if I want to be reacquainted. There is something about those independent, small book stores with quirky owners, and limited selections of books, but willing to order exactly what you want with no extra charge. That said, I will never lose the love of book stores in general, but this B&N is not at the top of my list. I find it far too noisy, busy, and crowded. Not enough seating and I find the layout of the store confusing. I like reading the first few pages of a book to see if I will like it and it is hard to do that when it is loud and people bumping into you in the aisles. As book stores go, it will do, but I will keep searching. read more

This is not meant for this specific store but for the online store. Do not buy form the online store. They screw up orders and have terrible tech support. I ordered 2 text books but only got one. When I called about the other they assured my it would be there the following day. It did not show up. The next day I got an email notification saying "Thanks for returning your book." I called and the guy told me they would refund my money for the book but that they couldn't give me a replacement. Instead I was supposed to order the book and then when I got it I would have to call and I could get a refund for the book that didn't show and for the extra shipping charge I had to pay for the extra shipment. So I ordered the book. and Waited a week for it to come (keep in mind I'm now two weeks into my class.) When the book arrives it's not my text book but a book about growing and harvesting marijuana. I call again and the guy says sorry and then tells me that the book is out of stock. He sends me a shipping label to return it but informs me that I will need to call back again after 24 hours to get my money back. I call the store in Bay Shore and the girl was very nice but informs me that they don't have the book in stock, however, notes that I can buy it online.. and that they have plenty of copies available at "the warehouse" I realize mistakes happen. But so many mistakes over one book with so much misinformation being fed to me. They owe me $70 for a book I never got and I have a feeling it's gonna be a huge pain in the ass to get it back. read more
