This is a fairly new Barnes and it was my first time coming in. The space is huge! Really clean, and has that modern and minimalist feel that most of the new B&Ns have. It was pretty easy to navigate the store. Each genre was in sections versus being in a column like other stores. It made the shopping a little confusing, because some of those sections wrapped around each other. But not too hard to figure out. Came to scope out the romance section and the newly released books. Kind of small as far as selection goes, but there are a lot of focus tables that house popular books. Might just be their choice of displays and arrangement that makes it feel like there are less options. Still, there is so much product, and you will definitely find books, trinkets, or gifts to take home with you! I left with Red Rising since I've had my eye on it for a while. There were a few BOGO tables that had a couple books I was eyeing, but I opted against grabbing those. Value is overall the same as other Barnes & Nobles. Their book annex was really well organized and not too cluttered. Good price options for notebooks, cookbooks, and other sale items in that section! Will be back to shop here again! read more

I haven't been here since opening week and that was hectic! Came in Tuesday morning and the cafe had quite a few people there. I decided to walk around the store and window shop. It was nice and clean, very well kept. No one was really around the floor. There's a nice big selection on children's book and toys. There's anime section too. A lot of journals and deals on books. There's records and CD's. Seen some DVD's as well. Nice place to pick up a book and kill some time. I walked past the registers, but just got some looks, no one really greeted me. This B&N is immaculate! I was so impressed when we first walked in. It's so spacious and super clean. They had a huge game section and their kids area had so so much. Bathrooms are super clean and the cafe is so cute! There's a lot of seating throughout the store too. 10/10! read more

I am so happy that they are here. This Barnes & Noble is HUGE and the staff is so amazing!!! Every time I have come in to pick up a book I walk out with at least two other books because the staff hype them up. I also genuinely like that they are always so helpful when you can't find the book you're looking for and if they don't have it in stock they always recommend a similar book that you might need to add to your TBR shelf. Will def always be my go to for books. read more

Clean, organized, and still one of the few places where wandering around quietly feels socially acceptable

Never going back to this Barnes and noble again. During our first visit, we were excited to take our toddler to show her all the books but the kids area was hard to go through because everything is so close together. At one point our toddler made it through between a table and a book tower that we couldn't fit through so when we went around the table, she had tripped and fell and hit her face on the edge of a book shelf. I ran to get some ice and we immediately took her to the ER due to a large bump that formed minutes after the fall. read more

The move of Barnes & Noble from Slatten Ranch to Streets of Brentwood seems to be a good one; B&N at the Streets of Brentwood looks so much nicer. Being an ex-REI store means high and spacious ceilings, which is a welcome site. Books are seamlessly organized, good kids and toy section, and favorites up front is really nice. Their cafe featuring Starbucks have ample space to enjoy a sip of coffee. B&N is a great addition to the Streets of Brentwood. read more

First time coming in after the move. I agree with everyone you can definitely smell the new book smell when you come in. Great customer service for the staff in greeting. Everyone that comes in the selection of books and book related items are very organized and well kept. Great value, great place to bring your friends and family. Love that this Barnes and Noble is so close to us now! The location they chose is so easy to access and park in. And the store itself is HUGE. I saw another review state they don't have a children's section, but they actually do in the back of the store? Tons of toys and children's books there. They also have a Young Adult Section as well located right next to it with a bunch of books for teens/pre teens. I would say 75% of the store is general adult/fiction/other categories. Also tried the cafe here and it's awesome. So much space to sit and relax or read. I love this store, I definitely come here too much since it opened but I'm so glad we have a bookstore so close to home. read more

I've been coming to this Barnes & Noble to get some remote work done while my kids are in school, and it's been such a treat! The space is very spacious with ample tables and seating areas, complete with charging plugs--perfect for settling in for a few hours of work. Strong WiFi also! The coffee stand is fantastic too, with friendly staff and great options from Cheesecake Factory and Starbucks. Every interaction with the employees here has been kind and welcoming, which makes the whole experience even better. (Also the best chai latte is from here lol) I love how peaceful it is in every aisle. My daughter even found a cozy little nook to read her favorite books, which makes this a spot we both enjoy. Everyone working here is genuinely a treat and makes visiting such a pleasure. Highly recommend! read more

Stopped in to pick up a good summer read and was not disappointed. I still enjoy the tactile feel of a soft bound novel, no Kindle for me yet. I was pleasantly surprised how many young people were there, in front of monitors, scrolling & texting in the Cafe, as if it were the library. Anyways, so much better than ordering on Amazon. Went in to buy 3 Topps basketball and 3 Mosiac football boxes. Was told by the kind lady that the policy has changed. The limit is one box per person. I told her I just bought 6 boxes last month no issues. She said I can talk to the manager. So I did. The manager was hella rude. Didn't explain why they changed the policy. She said "well I'm not changing the policy." Okay I didn't ask you to change the policy I wanted to know rationale and told her I had no issues buying cards last month. This happened at 12:30pm on Friday 11/7/25. So I left I'm not supporting this Barnes and Noble. You're better off going to the Veranda. That manager should get investigated she probably tells her friends when cards drop. And there are no signs anywhere of the policy nor is it on the website. read more

Ok whoever made the change to the layout nice job!! Changing my review! The changes are amazing! I can see from one end to the other in places which I think is what was causing me to feel like I was in a maze and claustrophobic. The kids section has cute little seating and overall a bit more seating! There was like none previously. I don't feel like I'm in a maze anymore! There is a flow to the space and I can't really put my finger on all of it exactly but the feel is much better. Oh and the magazine section change is nice too. The area near by the registers are less crowded I think again I can't quite tell where all of the changes occurred but the space is spacing now and it's awesome !!! read more

An update since my last review: ZERO improvement. I am severely disappointed by the lack of customer service skills yet again. My return to this location was met with unfriendly and unhelpful staff. The only things that kept me coming back were my love for books and proximity to the location. This Barnes & Noble is very nice and well-kept, but I would have liked to see a change in how the staff interacted with their customers. The team members here are in desperate need of customer service training. read more

Love this place I'm there weekly even if I'm not buying anything, the workers here are literally the kindest people on earth.

LOVE the book selections everything else not so much. It's not as big as I thought the seating area is very interesting.

I walked to counter and no one was there except sales lady (Tracy). Someone came up to Tracy on left side and she walked away to help them. She left counter to show them where to find their item. When Tracy came back to counter she saw me standing there and a man walked up to her and she looked something up on her computer to help him and then rang him up on cash register. She kept looking over at me and giving me ugly looks. When she was finished she asked if I was ready. Are you kidding me, I had been standing there in the line to be helped area with all these books ($150 worth of hard backs) and she wanted to know if I was ready. She rang me up and never said thank you or anything. This store has the rudest people at the counter and it hasn't been the first time People have been snappy and shown no customer service. When the store was in Antioch the people there were the friendliest. If I don't see a change, I will shop somewhere else. Amazon has books, and no hassle. On rating a 1 was generous. read more

Bright and open new store. Laid out like a maze so purposely difficult to find what you're looking for. Finally had to ask where the hobbies and craft section was. Amazingly the employee to me to a shelf with about forty books and that's it. If you are looking for toys, games and puzzles, the selection is huge. The cafe is actually the Starbucks with a little wider selection of snack foods but no menu or made to order food. read more

The concept of the new location is very nice I'll say BUT I'm sad to see they don't have a designated children's area like they did in the previous store, I went in today with my son to participate in the reading and I asked an employee and they said they were supposed to start today but aren't because they have no one to read. Overall it seems smaller than the previous location, but I do love this location better it just seems better but I'm just sad there isn't a children's area like the seating area for children to sit and read there were only like 3 little cubes to sit on. read more

I love going to barns and noble. I spend a lot of money on books. I usually love the vibes and customer service but this location. Idk. There was a white lady, blond hair who seemed to not want to be there. I spent 80$ and you know when you get that vibe that someone just doesn't want go be there or are just judging you looking you up and down. That's how she made me feel. If she doesn't want to work... maybe put her to stock up? I will be returning and books and buying them elsewhere. I go to a library to read, buy books, get distracted from reality, so having her attitude slap me in the face and spending 80$ for her sour face is extremely displeasing. I was there on June 18, around 12:09-12:15. Maybe if yall want more service and customer... put her in the back or have a nice chat with her so she could work on her customer service. In the meantime, if this continues, I should probably take my money and service elsewhere. Any recs? read more
