It's such a comfy place to be in the wee hours!!I love sitting here with a cup of coffee and browsing through all the magazines I would love to read but not buy! The staff is friendly. Ever since exploring more local bookshops B&N feels a bit "blah" to me now. It's more of a find what you are looking for and get out vibe now. They got rid of the seating (probably years ago, I hear theories on why) but it makes it less inviting. The staff do usually greet/ask if you need help, which is nice. They do always have a decent clearance/sale area with a bit of everything. Prices vary from store to store, I do find that this location has better pricing than some of the other locations. I'll still browse around B&N but typically all I do. read more

Has anyone else noticed a lack of customer service at this Barnes and noble? The last 2 times I have been there the employees are more interested in talking to each other than helping customers and there is a complete absence of smiles or thank your. The most recent visit the cashier was looking up a book for a customer while 2 employees at customer service gossiped with each other. Disappointing for people who still prefer to shop in store. read more

I want to give the store 5 stars and the only thing that prevents me from doing so is that book prices are so high unless on clearance. This is not Barnes & Noble's fault but it does mean tgat I cannot honestly award perfect marks. The staff at this store was personable, genuinely caring, outgoing and attentive. Every staff person stopped to ask if I needed assistance. Each person asked not only what I needed but also what else I found of interest so that they could provide suggestions. The cafe provides a great place to sit and figure out which books you want or read the ones that you have bought. It was clean, well maintained , well stocked and enough seating for all of the patrons there on a rainy Saturday. I have always liked B&N and I am so happy to see that they are stepping in keeping stock on hand and offering so much personalized attention to each patron. They are doing exactly what they need to do to continue to exist in the Amazon online world. read more

I really enjoy this location. It's quiet, has a nice Starbucks setup, and the staff here is always nice and helpful. The self-help section is much larger than I'm used to. There are lots of board games and toy options for kids to browse. read more

Barnes and Noble as a company should review quality control@ their stores... Do Not Order Online!!! They sent me a scraped up, creased and tattered used book. I Received a wonderful titled book as a gift from my lovely sister. Unfortunately B&N Monroe Township NJ sent me a used piece of garbage!!! Why would they send a used book someone clearly read and returned?! Went to return@ Burnsville B&N for credit to little sister's debit card but no card means no refund to card. So I request a refund in cash seeing as this order was paid for six days prior. Again, "No!" They'll Issue a Gift card only... I'm not ordering this book from B&N because they couldn't get it right the first time, so the gift card is Absolutely useless!!! So I let the cashier know my dismay in the disservice B&N has given me from not only the original fulfillment destination ( B&N Jersey) but the Burnsville store also... My sister was embarrassed as she was expecting a new book to be sent as a gift... I was expecting to receive a new book as a gift... If you're sending me a used book then charge the used book price... At least both parties know what to expect. I ordered the book direct from the vendor and my sister will just return the book herself. Great way to make hassle out of gift giving. Never order from B&N since they will most definitely send you used items left on their shelves!!! read more

Love having a bookstore like Barnes and Noble. They always highlight new and popular books, and have wonderful displays to browse and shop from. I always love to support book stores, and this is one of the few south of the river options for new books. I miss the days book stores were in abundance, so I do my best to shop here as much as I can to support them. Staff are helpful, and have helped me find books that aren't always on the shelves. read more

I love having a Barnes and noble up the road from me. They have a Starbucks within the store but it's owned by Barnes and Noble so you cannot buy a coffee with your Starbucks points or app. I came here a few times recently looking for gifts for holidays and to just browse and kill time. The workers are attentive but not checking in on you so often that you feel like you're being bothered. :) read more

Well, most Barnes & Nobles are pretty much alike. But for some reason, my wife likes this one just a little bit more. I think I like the Apple Valley one a bit more. Or do I? I don't know. This one does have an air of solitude about it. Then again, it is 8:30 on a Saturday night. This is a very well organized store. Customer service is very good. The cafe is neat and tidy. Yep. I like it here too! Regarding the Cafe, its like going to the library and being able to have a cup of coffee while you read books. Who could ask for better? read more

This is the best environment to shop for books within. Having a seperate children's section where there is space to sit down with the kids and read them a story (that you as a parent realize that you will be reading over and over and over again) to find out if they enjoy it prior to purchase is awesome! This location is clean, well organized and provided great service. read more

I really have a soft spot for this Barnes and Noble. Over the years, I've spent countless days and hours here studying for industry exams and working. Currently, their hours of operations run Monday - Saturday 9am - 9pm and 10am - 8pm on Sunday. This makes it great for me to come in late on Friday and Saturday nights if I need to study or work over the weekend as most libraries and a lot of coffee shops close earlier. Actually, I am pretty sure they used to close at 10pm which is why I would head over there from Starbucks since the one by my house closed at 9pm. Spending time here is nice because of the pleasant atmosphere and ability to take breaks by walking around the store and checking out the books and products. It's quite a large store and plenty to browse through. They have a large B&N cafe there where they serve Starbucks coffee but it's not part of the Starbucks franchise. That means you can't earn SB rewards or use SB cards. That was my major disappointment with the place quite honestly. I would often order food and coffee there and it would have nice if I could earn points towards my rewards account or use my gift cards! A lot of people come to this place to hang out, work or study. Oftentimes it can get pretty busy and seating may be limited. The tables and chairs in the cafe area aren't the most cozy or comfortable but it's good enough in my opinion. No matter how busy it does get, I'm always able to find a spot to sit. read more

Sorry to anyone in advance who is reading this review for the actual book store itself. But I'm writing this to review the Starbucks inside it lol. I have only had ONE bad experience here thus far. And that was because the girl was new and she was literally waiting for someone to show her how to make my drink, which I waited on for over 20 minutes. Other than that, the employees are wonderful and friendly and their service is quick! The only downside is that they don't accept the Starbucks Rewards card, which was a total bummer because I created my account solely to use it there since it's near my house. I almost always order a Green Tea Frappe and it's ALWAYS perfect!!! read more

Without a doubt the best of their stores in our Twin Cites area. Beyond excellent customer service, zero pressure to purchase anything. The three customer service associates that helped me learn what 'Peppa Pig' was and locate it were fantastic. One in particular, Emma, even turned me onto a new author and was extremely informative. read more
