This is a lovely store with very friendly knowledgeable staff, and I really enjoy just spending time looking around. Their seasonal quiches are really delicious and I enjoy taking a break and enjoying one when I am there. I love that they sell UK magazines like Country Living (UK edition), Creative Stamping, Simply Cards and Papercraft, and Daphne's Diary which I love! Autumn, a lovely barista, is a true book reader and has great recommendations! My girlfriend is a major book worm and this is her absolute favorite Barnes and Noble (even compared to the ones we have been to in El Paso and other cities.) There is just something about this Barnes and Nobles. They always have the best selection on books and if they do not have the specific book you're looking for...the employees are super helpful on either finding the book online for you/finding it at another location or they help you find another book you may enjoy! Anytime we visit Las Cruces from El Paso, we always stop by here! read more

The best book store! My kids usually spend 3 hours here reading books! It has the nicest sitting place. The toys here are pricy but definitely worth the price. A lot of educational stuff, stem toys and books about different cultures. Highly recommended! read more

I love Barnes & Noble. I've been coming here since I was a little girl. They offer book readings on Fridays and the weekend. There's so much to offer for anyone of any age. You can find your favorite book or order it to be shipped to the store if it is out of stock. The staff is always friendly and the atmosphere is always calm and inviting. It's a great place to read or let your kids explore and get interested in reading a variety of books. read more

In reference to the Starbucks inside Barnes & Noble. Great location inside a great bookstore. Larger selection of baked and hot treats than some other locations. Sadly, couldn't find an outlet for laptop like most locations. The pizza stuffed pretzel are a keeper. Not greasy or messy, delicious pretzel crust. Heated on a panini grill so they had those nice grill marks. The tiramisu was excellent, surprisingly so for the venue. Creamy and chocolatey, it was more than could be finished. The green tea was, as always, smooth and tasty and the double chocolate chip frappuccino creamy and well blended. All in all, a nice stop after a couple of hours at the mall. It's important to note that this location DOES NOT honor Starbucks gold card, online payment or Starbucks rewards. We benefit greatly from the gold card rewards so this was disappointing. read more

This B&N is connected to the Mesilla Valley Mall, which is a convenient location if you're in town. But I must say that this B&N is not one that I am very impressed with. There are no chairs to sit and read in the book section, and the way this store is set up, I feel as though I am walking through a labyrinth. The only seats I found were the benches in the magazine section, not comfortable at all, OR the at the cafe' you will find tables but it is really noisy in that section. Customer service is OK, when you can find someone to help you . . . I find that the B&N located near the University is way nicer, although targeted mostly for student needs such as school books and supplies ... not so much for your general crowd of book readers ... but still a nice place to check out. This is my favorite bookstore in Las Cruces! I bring my kids to the storytime that they have every Friday. They get pretty busy on the weekends but if you wait at the desk in the middle the employees will spend as much time with you as needed. I hope that Las Cruces continues to support this business.....it would be a shame to lose it. read more

I love this B&N. it's connected to the mall in the middle of town so it's conveniently located. I love sitting in the Starbucks and reading books/magazines or doing homework. Its relaxing and they generally have great music playing. The Starbucks doesn't take any gift cards unless they're specifically B&N (weird I know) so keep that in mind! read more

This Barnes & Noble is great. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable about books. Finding books is easy if you go to customer service in the center of the store. The music section has a lot to offer. The Barnes & Noble cafe serves seasonal Starbucks coffee and the staff there is nice. They have events often and you can check the newsletter they have for when they are. read more

This review is for the cafe that's connected to Barnes and Noble. When I went to choose my pastry from the case, there were several large flies in it, crawling all over everything. Pretty gross. The drink I got was all right, though. The bookstore was a typical B&N, but one thing that I was annoyed at was that I wanted a To Kill a Mockingbird book bag and even though they had some, they were "saving" them for a Harper Lee event because of her new book premiere next week. I thought that was a bit unfair--if a customer is willing to pay, they shouldn't hold back merchandise. read more

The store is more focused on other things than the needs of their customers. Staff rarely asks if you need help and the cafe has only two outlets to plug in a phone or laptop. Sad to say that this chain will not last much longer with this way of operating. read more

I've really warmed up to Barnes and Noble recently because they keep impressing me by supplying the books I'm looking for which is sad really when you consider the fact that I almost always check with them last. They do a good job of having a great selection and having the books organized so that you can easily find them. Their DVD and CD prices seem to be a bit high but they have a surprisingly good selection of them considering it occupies a large corner of the store. The people are usually friendly and although I don't drink Starbucks, it is convenient to have one on hand. read more

I am hooked on Barnes and Noble stores. I try to stop at all of them. The Las Cruces store is so nice. I think the unique thing about LC's is that they tend to order more edgy books and music. It's nice to know that they probably will have the new art book you found, that no other B and N has. I also want to say they have very nice staff. Once they are available to help you, they will stick with you until you find what you want. That is 5 star service. My reason for not giving 5 over all is that the darn chairs are all bunched by the cards? Otherwise, this is by far the best B and N in 100 miles. IMHOP. read more
