When I say customer service I'm not asking for extraordinary white glove treatment. I walked and the gentleman behind the counter looked up but couldn't be so much as bothered to greet me and carried on reading his own book. My friend and I were the only people in the store so he wasn't helping anyone and we made legit eye contact so he definitely saw us. I saw a few interesting titles that I purchased on Amazon. I would have much rather given my money to a local small business but in this case they didn't earn it. The whole interaction just left a bad taste in my mouth.

It's been awhile since I've gone. I love this unique, one of a kind bookstore! It has a homey feel to it. It feels like grandma's or tia's (aunt's) house when you're there. Chicana author Denise Chavez owns it with her husband. Can you believe I actually had the opportunity to take a writing workshop with her? It was such a great opportunity! She's an award-winning writer and there I was in her presence! Thanks to a great aunt, I had the opportunity to take her workshop. My poor aunt is still waiting for me to write a book! Maybe it will happen someday! Anyway... Mrs. Chavez's bookstore has all kinds of books! There was even books in the bathroom! There were lots of children's and non-fiction books, along with many others. I'm not sure what the hours of operation are so I recommend calling before showing up. Mrs. Chavez also sells books online at: abebooks.com She has over 1,000 books for sale there. Copies of her books are sold on Amazon and pretty much anywhere else books are sold. Check this gem out if you're in Las Cruces sometime. There is something for everyone.

This is a…read morelovely small church environment with positive people and inspirational, non-judgmental speakers. This Sunday was no exception. The speaker was dynamic and compelling. That says it clearly. Now the bookstore. I small, interesting collection of metaphysical and inspirational books. The bookstore manager was very helpful in locating something for me. Additionally there is a small selection of gifts and jewelry items. I love these small stores. Parking is available in front and in back too!
