It's also a perfect spot to occupy little ones with their selection of children's books in order for mom/dad to browse in relative peace. Welcome to our little neighborhood Sparkle! Prices vary, but I did notice a lot of clearance sections during my last visit. You'll surely score something to take home. The location is also great. Big shopping center, plenty of parking and even manageable on weekends. The line funnels everyone into a single line with next customer called to a register when free. While standing around on line, you can browse more stuff you stock on both sides of the line.

While it is a smaller footprint and several items were sold out during my visit, it's clearly because this is a highly popular spot for local crafters! The online order pickup process was incredibly organized and smooth with their self-serve setup, and I'm so excited to dive into my next craft project today. What really stood out was the staff. I crossed paths with an employee in the aisle who was incredibly helpful with all of my questions. When I was leaving, that same gentleman made it a point to say goodbye, which was such a warm, personal touch. The only downside for me is the shift toward so many self-checkout kiosks. I personally prefer interacting with a real person and supporting local jobs rather than using automated machines, so I definitely encourage other shoppers to head to a real cashier lane if they can! There's currently two other stores with similar stock, but each one has different items as well. There's a good selection of displayable items, shirts, bags, blu rays/DVDS (which is always a good thing), and plenty of other items. Any staff I interacted with were friendly. When I came in one of their local book clubs was running - it was so fun to listen in on the conversations and community. During this visit I found a great graduation gift and one of the booksellers helped connect me to some upcoming events related to some recent reads and interests I shared. They have an expansive section for spanish speakers and the large used books shelf highlights their commitment to bringing books to members of the community. I was delighted I ended up spending more time in the store than I planned to. This is a great spot if you're looking for a book, a gift for a book lover or want to get involved in your community!

The staff is very friendly and more than willing to assist. During the short time that we visited, I saw a walking tour explaining the history of the bookstore/area and a few people discussing the topic of the day. I enjoyed perusing old editions of Life magazine and enjoyed the plenty of seating that was available. If you're ever in Ossining, don't hesitate to stop into Hudson Valley Books. I'm sure, that you'll find something worth purchasing.
