Barnes & Noble has become a regular outing for us as a family since my son loves books and gets so excited to run around the children's section. The Waterford location is not as large as others and has a smaller kids area, but it was still well-organized and enjoyable. We let him pick out a few books and then we sit and read them together and tend to buy the one that he gravitates to the most. He's in his Elmo-loving phase right now, and there was no shortage of Sesame Street options. This last time, he loved an Elmo sing-along book that came with a little music player and "CDs" with the song lyrics you can read as the songs play. It's very cute and we ended up purchasing it. They also have some really great children's toys at B&N, but you might not think to shop here for those. read more

I was surprised at the size of this Barnes and Noble! It's in a strip mall next to the Target and it is spacious and filled with the value and seasonal items you come to expect from any location. There is no coffee shop inside this location. The selection is plentiful to be sure! I really like this location and will most definitely stop here again when I'm in the area. I wasn't able to find anyone working here for questions when I was deep in the store and they only had one cashier working but she was nice during check out. read more

This Barnes & Noble Rocks! It's been a year or two since I've visited a Barnes & Noble store in person, as I usually purchase books online for school and pleasure. My last visit was to the Altamonte Mall location, and I have to say, the transformation of this store is incredible! I'm not sure if all Barnes & Noble stores have undergone a similar update, but the new look, layout, and expanded product offerings at this particular location really impressed me. During my visit, I was on the hunt for a few classic novels. Typically, these books can run about $35 each, but I discovered an "Amazing Values" & "Great Savings" section that offered many of these classics for just $10-$15--what a deal! I ended up picking out three books, with my total bill coming to $37.28. I bought two hardcover books, Edgar Allan Poe Illustrated Tales and Grimm's Fairy Tales, each for just $10. The third book, The Adventures of Tom Sawyer, was $15 and had a lovely almost leathery or rubberized cover that seems quite durable--fingers crossed it holds up better than my leather Lazy Boy chair, which sadly disintegrated after only two years! While browsing, I noticed a fantastic variety of other items. From Lego sets and kids' toys to electronic Nooks and reading accessories, there's something for everyone. The store also had a unique selection of stationery items, including envelopes, letter openers, scented oil lamps, desk and wall calendars, bookends, wrapping paper, gift sets, and so much more. If you're an Audiophile they have a decent selection of vinyl's available and if your in the market for a new turntable they have them too. Staff were really friendly. The lovely cashier set up my member rewards account, which I appreciate. All in all, this Barnes & Noble is definitely worth a visit--even if you're not an avid reader. They've really done a great job revamping the space, and I highly recommend checking it out if you're in the area. read more

Excellent new location for the chain. They closed the larger location in Waterford about three years ago and moved to this smaller spot just down from Target. It has a very boutique type of feel to it and the sections are well laid out and easy to navigate through to find what you like; I especially liked the Lego and puzzle sections. Staff was around and answering questions from customers, and it was easy to spot the cash registers when you're ready to head out with a purchase. There is a sale / discount section towards the front of the store if you are looking to snag a deal. Overall: A+ Love the new location and layout. read more

Barnes & Noble have finally returned to the Waterford Lakes Town Center and this is great news for the residents of this area. Barnes & Noble was a long-standing business in the Waterford Lakes Town Center, but for whatever reason, they left a few years back and were replaced by a Nike location. I heard the reason was that the Waterford Lakes Town Center management made the decision. They probably wanted something more "hip" to offer their customers, but after a few years, Barnes & Noble has made a triumphant return to an albeit smaller location. The store kind of reminded me of a literary labyrinth. I wandered these aisles and was impressed of the selection of books. They still had their specially priced items, which was good. These are a cool way to create stocking staffers for the holiday and give the gift of books and hopefully inspire a love of great literature within those you give these literary gifts. Again, it is great to see Barnes & Noble back on the east side of town and saves me a trip to the one on East Colonial Drive over by the Milk District and the downtown Orlando area. I'm so excited that Barnes and Noble is back at Waterford Lakes! It now is located between Target and Tillys. It is nicely laid out. All genres seem to be represented. Toys, games and magazines are also available. The line moves fast, quick service. Employees are knowledgeable and approachable. Membership has its perks. They offer free membership and also one with a price for more perks. read more

I haven't been in any Barnes & Noble that looked like this location. The layout consists of a bunch of smaller, taller bookshelves on islands that require you wander around not entirely sure where you are until you get back to the front window again. That's not the worst way to hunt for a new book, game, record or movie. The selection in fantasy and science fiction was good and a table was stacked with four hardcover Dungeon Crawler Carl novels from a series by Matt Dinniman I recently started as an audiobook. My one knock on the store was that I missed the cafe, whether to order a cup of coffee or just enjoy the smell at no cost. read more

A fantastic new addition to the Waterford area! Barnes and Noble's new design has a more modern feel with higher bookcases and different wood aesthetics. The staff provided great recommendations when I asked for a new board game suggestion. The different is that there is not as much space to sit and read compared to other locations. There are chairs in the back. Overall it is great for browsing not as much as lounging. read more

I love this new location in Waterford lakes, it's not as big as the last one but it doesn't lack anything! It's bigger than you expect on the inside but somehow gives a more intimate feel with the books and media at the same time. They moved! They used to be in the front of the complex (it's now a sneaker shop). They moved to the back near Target (I think this used to be Tilly's). The location seems a bit larger with a set up closer to the location on E Colonial. They haven't changed anything about their service style. Walk around the store and get lost in the endless hours or reading entertainment! They've always been a fair price in my opinion. You can't place a monetary value on knowledge! read more

So glad to see Barnes & Noble return to Waterford Lakes, now in a slightly smaller location next to Target. While the space is more compact, they've thoughtfully laid it out, and I love the tall bookshelves, which give it a cozy library feel. The only downside is the lack of a café or much dedicated reading space--just a few chairs scattered throughout. Given its proximity to UCF, this feels like an odd choice and havign grown up in the area I remember spending a lot of time hanging out and buying books in the old location. That said, the staff is incredibly friendly and helpful, making every visit enjoyable. It's great to have a bookstore back in the area, and I'll definitely be stopping by often! Especially since B&N have been doing book release parties lately. read more

I finally got the chance to visit this new location in the Waterford Lakes Towncenter. I was initially worried given the smaller store size but it is very well organized. The way the shelves and displays are set up reminds me of an old school or indie bookstore, not a chain. I feel like I could get pleasantly lost in the maze of aisles, they also have a couple of nice sitting areas. There's no cafe here but it's not needed since e there's tons of coffee options nearby. read more

B&N is back at Waterford and couldn't be more excited! The store is smaller than your usual but it is just perfect for our area. The smell of brand new books hits you as soon as those doors open. I really enjoyed my visit! The staff was very helpful. read more

I picked up a reserved book today. the register person bagged it up quick and gave it to me. I foolishly didn't Get a receipt When I opened it up in the car I realized the book was damaged. I brought it back in immediately for a return and was told I could only get store credit. I had been in there less than a minute before. Damaged books, crappy staff. Really happy to see this location open again in Waterford lakes, albeit at a different spot than its original building. The store is well lit, things are well organized/placed, and there are comfortable chairs/benches/seating throughout for customers to sit and look through their book selections. Service is also efficient and polite at the counter - the staff seem like they're pretty busy but they will still make time for you to find things if you need help. Decent value on the wide selection of books - would definitely come here if you are trying to find nicely priced gifts for children or adults. read more
