Great selection of books, dvds, mixed media, organized really well. They have so much product, their shelves flow into stacks of books on the floor. They put care into their displays and what figurines or other trinkets are placed with which books. Their prices aren't as cheap as books when you thrift, but the effort that goes into curating and organizing a collection this big - almost makes it worth the retail prices on some of these books. I also noticed they had some Disney tsum tsum? Figurines that must be slight after and collectible because the retail was 5.95 and the written price for the store was $10. read more

Wow, this store has a LOT of books, almost too many. There are so many that they have overflowed to the floor in some areas taking up part of the walkway. They also have a lot of CDs, VCR tapes, magazines, and many more items I was unable to explore on this visit. We were on our way to a concert and I had about 30 minutes to look for a few music books, which I found with the staff's help. I have to say that the staff were great and knew exactly where they kept the music books, good job! It's good to know this store has a variety of music books to choose from and for the most part they are organized well, except the ones on the floor. You just have to dig a little. I chose two Faber level III piano books and a Bastien level III piano technique book. The Bastien book was only $2 but it has a lot of notes from previous students. The two Faber books were $6 each and virtually untouched, excellent! Some of the books are on the pricey side, especially some of these old music books, they are asking $20 when the covers are missing and music score is illegible. I just don't see myself spending that much when I can put that $20 towards a brand new book series or Henle Album of exceptional quality. Regardless, I want to support local, and have been very happy with my purchase. I will return again to see what I missed on my previous visit. If you love book stores, this is a good one and definitely worth the stop. read more

The selection, especially for non-fiction, is great--I've discovered some gems! But the prices are really high compared to other similar stores, and honestly, the place could use a little more organization, particularly in the music and some book section. This spot is PACKED with used books! You could browse these shelves for an entire day and not see all of the books. They have books from all genres: sci-fi, horror, romance, religion, geography, children's books, biographies, and more. Some were heavily used, but there was also a great selection of like-new books too! The books were priced well under retail. The majority of the books I was looking at were between $8 and $12. Some were hardcover and some paperback. I didn't interact with the staff until checkout. The cashier was nice and friendly. I have been looking for a good used book store. 'When I entered Best Used Books' I was greeted with a pleasant welcome. It is a good place to trade used books. I love reading fantasy and SciFi novels especially in hardback. The store does take trade ins of the books I have finished but do not want to read again. The trade in value I can apply to half of the cost of new purchases. I enjoy doing business with them. read more

They do have a large selection of books and music, but much of it is in terrible condition. They should probably take better care of things, perhaps store LP's properly. Their pricing policy is also ridiculous in that you bring your selections to the counter, and then the clerk starts looking each one up online to decide how much to charge you. I was told about this place from a co-worker so I decided to finally check it out. If you are a bookworm and enjoy holding a book (vs electronic), then this place is for you! It's like Barnes and Nobles mixed with a Harry Potter vibe. The store has a HUGE selection of books and it has a very antique feeling to it. And there's just piles and piles of books! And I double checked the prices and most of the books I saw here were cheaper than Amazon. And most of the books were in really great condition. The book I snagged didn't even look like it was used! If you walk around, there are signs that tell you what genres are where. They also have magazines, board games, CDs, DVDs, comics, toys, etc. I almost snagged a retro/old version of Monopoly! They do have a trade program where if you bring in used books, you get a credit to use on your next purchase. The credit is saved under your name and is valid for up to 1 year. What a pretty cool way to return books and buy more. The staff at this store are super nice, friendly, and helpful. If you are doing vision boards or crafting, they sell some vision board boxes with random magazines at a special price. I also recommend that you give yourself plenty of time to walk around. What more could you want from a used book store? The prices aren't necessarily the cheapest but when I think about number of customers they receive in a day multiplied by the amount of money they typically spend, the fact that their sales cover their overhead let alone gives the owner a profit is pretty surprising. They've got a big selection, and it's a good place to wander around exploring the different genres. There's really a good chance they have the book you're looking for. Went shopping in there cause it was recommended to me however it was a clutter everywhere in there. I knew this going in but still very overwhelming. Prices were ridiculous and not a deal at all. Pocket books that were old or in bad condition were still being priced for $5. For having so many books they must not want to make a profit, further when leaving the employees working were very rude. They asked multiple times on our way out for assistance with books or authors after we politely declined. Then after we declined and still chose to leave a woman huffed and rolled her eyes. Later when the rest of my party left they were eyeing them as if they stole and outraged nothing was found in the bookstore. I will never return nor recommend. The staff was super nice and helpful, but unfortunately the inventory was SUPER overpriced and way higher than the value of the books. For instance a good bit of the books I was looking at were from the early 2000's or late 90's and the price of it at best used books was the same or 99cents less than the original value of the book. It doesn't make sense why it would be that expensive 15+ years later. They also weren't in great condition. You could tell they were extremely used (most of the books in the store were) and even then the prices were the same. I honestly am extremely surprised and disappointed. We are from out of town and at home only have one used bookstore (amazing with great prices) so we drove 45 mins from where we were staying after finding this store online and seeing the yelp reviews were amazing. It's super cute and I LOVE supporting small businesses, especially small book stores. But I just can't justify buying a very used book for no less than $4 when the original price was $4.99(up to 6.99), which was the case with the section I was so excited to see. It just doesn't make sense to have so much overstocked inventory that you have to keep books on the floor (which I have no problem with and didn't think twice about) and have your inventory so overpriced. Had those books been around $2.50 I guarantee I would've spent a minimum of $80 like I do at my bookstore at home everytime I go (weekly). We were hoping to find some books we hadn't seen at our home store and we did! And we were super excited but the prices are just outrageous and don't make sense considering the amount of inventory, and the condition and ages of the books. Unfortunately we couldn't justify buying a single thing. Even on thrift books the books in the store are about 50% cheaper just getting them on thrift books which I don't like to do since I like supporting small store front businesses. read more

I've been to many used bookstores and I have to say this is one of the worst ones I've ever been to. Their prices for some titles are outrageous!! Why would I pay $6.00 for a book used when it only sold for $6.99 brand new?! If you want any movies skip this story. That want $14.00 for a used blue ray when you can buy the same movie for $5 at Walmart. The only thing they had going for themselves is that the staff are very nice and helpful. But their prices are crazy!! Reply to store: the book was a goosebumps book and those only sell for $6.99 I've recently purchased those for my daughter. Lots of selections of used paperback books. They have plenty of old DVDs, comic books, and games too, but I'm strictly a vintage paperback reader. That being said, if you too are interested in buying vintage paperbacks with really cool illustrated covers from the 50's-80's then be prepared to pay $7 to $15 per paperback for them. And that's WITH store credit. I understand that they have to charge what they do to keep the lights on. Especially considering their location. Just be prepared to to $hell out more than you're used to for a used book (regardless of the condition). Their staff is friendly as long as you don't complain about the prices, so keep that in mind. read more

A whole heap of books I'm not sure if these are the best used books but they sure do manage to cram a whole lot in a small area. Of course being a used book store you never know what you are going to find and just kind of take you change. Always something interesting. We found some maps that were have been looking for and unable to find in new books stores as well as some cool books on the local trails and flora of Florida. The two people working there were very friendly and more than willing were they thought the books we were looking for were. Also talked about just about anything else you wanted. Not the largest used bookstore around and certainly not the neatest but a store with a whole heap of used books on just about any subject you could want. read more

The inventory at this place is mind blowing! There's so much to look at it can be overwhelming (in a good way). You will get lost in the mass amounts of books and other cool gadgets they have. There are a few downsides and one of those is they can be on the pricey side especially for being a used bookstore. You won't really find any GREAT deals but it's definitely worth the visit. My only other "complaint" is how messy the floors are. If you don't mind clutter then you will LOVE this place like I did. I made my first visit a few days ago and was more impressed than not. I will be returning when I have more time to sift through all of the shelving. They also have a great selection of board games and other retro collectibles! I was thoroughly impressed. If you are on the hunt for used books this is a good place to come. Considering the area (south Florida) where used bookstores are rare you aren't going to find too much better, however the owners unfortunately for me know their inventory and books aren't priced HIGH but you probably won't find any amazing deals either. It's impossible to leave here without a handful of books. They have a ton to choose from, and the store is organized well. I have to dock a star because the books are very expensive for used books, but the secret is to bring trade-ins and get store credit to apply to your purchase. My husband and I used to love this place. Not so much anymore. Overpriced used books and movies. They used to give 50% credit towards purchase of same type items. So we would trade in what we already read or watched for something else. We also got a puzzle that was marked as no pieces missing but in fact had several pieces missing. On our last visit we spent double because they apparently don't give 50% off for trade ins anymore. Spent $100 when we normally spend about half of that. After many years of shopping there we won't be going back anytime soon if ever. I can get new for same price or a few dollars more. Compared to other bookstores I been to this place seems a bit overpriced. I went in looking for 3 books, which I couldn't find either one of them. One was an anne rice book, and the others were most likely rare finds. Staff: Super awesome! Super friendly! Great to help! They probably are the best book staff I ever met in a book store. Prices: They are over priced, I found many books priced for 6-8 dollars for which I could find for less than a dollar in the same condition in other stores! Selection: Tremendous! Some books are on the floor and double stacked! Buyback System: They will give you in-store credit towards another purchase more like a trade program than buyback! I got it into my mind to go to used book store in my area. I found this one after a short Google search. I have to say, I like. I got some books that I've wanted to read, and the attendant even discounted one of them for me to match the prices on Amazon+shipping on the exact same edition. Both attendants were very friendly, looked up info for me without me having to ask, gave me recommendations on books I might like according to watch genre I like. Pleasant classical music playing, clear walkways and just pleasant all around. I would definitely recommend coming here if you're in the mood for a book but you're not quite sure what book. It is packed from floor to ceiling, double stacked shelves, and the prices aren't half bad. You'll need at least 1-2 hours if you're just browsing, because there are a lot and I mean a lot of books to go through. I ended up with a copy of Slaughterhouse-Five by Kurt Vonnegut, Interview With a Vampire by Anne Rice, and Maximum Ride: Angel Experiment by James Patterson, all of which I wanted to read at one time or another. read more

I used to frequent this bookstore several times a month. I will say that, overall, the staff is friendly and welcoming. The store is, however, a mess and their buyback system isn't fantastic... but works for a true bookworm. Mess: many books in stacks on floor and/or in boxes. The vinyl albums are not priced (they check online to get a current price) and are too disorganized to enjoy browsing. Buyback: you turn in books for "credit" based on book quality. Then you get $ off on your purchases. So, if you are just crazy about books and like to recycle them... this is the way to go. Little odd about cell phone usage in the store... and seem a bit uptight about kids. read more
