BEWARE OF UPCHARGES OUTSIDE OF YOUR INSURANCE COPAY! The receptionist told me that I have to pay an extra $30 on top of my copay because the eye doctor is a specialist, but the insurance company states that the eye doctor isn't supposed to charge more than my copay because he's in network and not listed as a specialist to charge an extra $30! Dr. Burks office refuses to complete a yearly exam if you don't agree to pay upcharges outside of your copay that aren't mandatory! Made my husband and I an appointment, they were running behind and hour. Then the tech and the new girl she was training started my eye exam and they wanted to ddeny having my eyes dilated. The tech told me I had to have it done or my insurance Davis Vision wouldn't cover my eye exam. So I went ahead and left them do it. My husband refused to have his done. I called my Insurance company after words and they told me they don't cover a dilation unless the doctor says it's medically necessary. At this time I didn't even see the doctor they just dilated my eyes. They are scamming people or should I say the insurance company to get their eyes dilated and just saying it's medically necessary.
