I was SO happy to have found this place! My Toyota car key was at the breaking point and I needed to get a copy quickly as I had to work that day. Driving here, I went inside and was greeted by a lovely gentleman, Brian, I believe, and we got to chatting about my needs. I showed him the original key and he matched it perfectly - and asked if I needed an extra backup as I used to copy to check if it worked on ALL my locks (and it did!). I got a copy too. Two keys for less than $10 was a great deal and if you need a key for your car or house, he'll do you right! I was VERY impressed and will go back if I have a need for keys and locks. I hope to score an RV this year and the one I wish to get has NO key so I will definitely go to Barney and ask for his help to get two or three keys made and to examine the locks and see if any other keys/locks are needed for my RV. I recently ran into a problem with a cylinder lock for my truck's bed cover, I did not have a key to properly lock it. I had searched everywhere including the internet to replace it to no avail, no luck, so I decided to try and have it re-keyed, so I looked for a locksmith near my area in covina and I came to findout that there are hardly any real locksmiths with a shop around, all are mobile, they come to you and they really charge you for it, it is expensive. Well I found Barney's locksmith on arrow hwy and he did have a shop. I took the lock off my truck and took it to Barney, not really hopping for much because it is a real old cylinder lock, not available anymore. You can tell Barney is well experienced, he's got some time under his belt doing this, I figured if he can't do it, thats it. He told me leave it here with me a couple of hours and let me see what I can do. I couple of hours went by and so I decided to call him, expecting to hear the worst, to my surprise Barney answered and he told me I was just about to call you to tell you it's done and ready for pickup. I could not be happier, it was a great relief to hear that and at a very reasonable price a lot better than all the other mobile locksmiths. There is no problem that these guys can't solve! If they don't know the answer, they will figure it out or make a phone call in their network. I have had motorcycle key issues which they solved. I have gotten new FOB controllers which they programmed for way cheaper than the dealer. If you need a locksmith, these guys can do it for you. read more

I have found getting motorcycle keys replaced can be expensive and very hard to find someone who has them in stock. Your search is over barney has them in stock and unlike most motorcycle shops he can actually cut the keys as well, for about 1/2 the price. read more

Went there today and Jim or Tim not sure what his name is but an older gentleman cut two transponder keys (not a cheap key )for my Chevy truck , after cutting them he stated normally we don't cut these because it's tricky with the tip that wears out ( would have been nice to know before he cut them) i don't live in the area and was just passing by , called the shop and the owner asked to take it back to see but at this point I've lost faith in them. Beware and use them at your own risk I'm out 50 dollars and have to buy new keys and take them somewhere more reputable I guess . read more

Barney's Locksmith Service is really excellent! I lost the keys to my front door and gated door which included 3 different set of locks. I contacted Barney's Locksmith Service and the manager gave me terrific advice on unscrewing the locks to my door and bringing them to his store to save me money of having him come to my home. After I did this, the manager helped me change all my locks to one set of keys, which was extremely helpful and convenient. He also charged me such a terrific price that is so amazing for all the work he did to help me with these locks and creating the new set of keys. He also provided me with terrific suggestions on how to screw the locks and knobs back into my doors. His suggestions were so helpful! I was able to successfully put everything back together based on the information he shared with me. I like it when Techs give you advice on what brands or equipment to buy and can give solid reasons why one is better than another. I visited this shop today. Had an issue with my key not opening my driver side door. I always thought the key was just worn down and needed to be replaced. He took some time to investigate the problem, found out the key cylinder was old and overused. He recommended that I visit a Toyota dealer and replace the cylinder. He refused any payment, so a YELP is the best I can do at this time to show my appreciation for his help. read more

Taking the time to write a review for one of the "stand out" businesses I have been to. I was having problems with a worn out key on a vehicle I had just recently purchased. The locksmith came out to my car, worked in the parking lot with my key, lubricating all the locks, brought the key back in and cut me a brand new "machine cut" key for my vehicle, then went back out and worked on it some more. Key was now working great in 3 of the 4 locks. They then found some internal linkage that was "sticky". Once it was lubricated internally, all 4 locks were working great with my nice new machine cut key. I took another vehicle there the following weekend, they pulled my ignition apart in the parking lot and advised me that it was not a lock/cylinder problem and pointed me in the right direction to get this problem fixed by referring me to a local auto-repair facility. NO CHARGE and they spent a good 15-25 minutes working on my vehicle. I go there for all my key and locksmith needs now. Prices are incredibly fair and the workers I have dealt with have been top notch. read more
