This review is long overdue. I took my god-daughter here back in February and she absolutely loved it. It's right off of Carson Street across the street from the Town Center more so across from Sam's Club. It is hidden and it's a perfect hidden gem for little ones. It seems that you are able to have picnics and parties here of course with reservations ahead of time. The animals and the petting zoo were so sweet and the staff was very friendly. I smell like a barnyard? Of course, because I was feeding goats & sheep at Barnyard Buddies. For $6 admission (at the time)(Groupon deals, as well), visitors to Barnyard Buddies can feed goats & sheep, and pet various animals. Buying a medium sized container of feed was more than enough, IMHO. Visitors are required to feed only the goats & sheep from the other side of the enclosure. Without feed, visitors can enter the closure & pet/brush the animals. Besides the goats & sheep, there are 2 pigs, chickens, and in a separate enclosure, emus & a cow. No access allowed to those, however. Pony rides are an option for little kids. The ride is around an oval track. There is also a playground area to burn up some energy. A few handwashing stations on premises to stay hygienic during your visit. Barnyard Buddies is an accessible nearby barnyard experience. I was lucky enough to grow up around chickens, so I'm not new to livestock. It's my firm belief kids should be around animals, and know where their food comes from, whether it be eggs, milk and/or meat. While not a place I'd recommend traveling large distances to visit, for those nearby or whom happen to be in the area, Barnyard Buddies is a wonderful opportunity to feed enthusiastically hungry goats & sheep, and brush plump piggies. Pretty cool to see the animals here. Had fun taking my nieces here where they were able to touch the animals and brush their hairs. Parking is easy and plenty of space. So I will definitely come back. Only issue I have is that drivers drive a bit fast where the parking become dusty so be prepared for that or make sure the kiddies have mask or face cover. read more

For about $4, this is a pretty good deal (find it on Groupon). It's a small barn with a petting zoo with chickens, ducks, pigs and goats which were a hit with the littles. appreciated the outdoor handwashing area and little toy play area. Definitely a great place to bring a blanket to have a little picnic in their open area perfect for little kiddos to run around. Also several tables if you wanna do that. No food purchase onsite aside from little snacks. You can also pay to feed the petting zoo animal. Extra cost for horse or pony rides. Make sure to wear sunscreen n bug repellant spray. Our son had his birthday here and he and the other kids had so much fun!! There were so many different things to do, the kids were playing the whole time. Came here with my grandson and he had the time of his life. We went to the petting zoo, and there were so many sheep and goats and chickens for him to pet. Then off to ride the little pony. His first pony ride and it was amazing. So much fun. They also have a place for you to wash and sanitize your hands afterwards. read more

My BFF and I took our little ones. Oh my goodness! Even the ones that didn't want to go had such a fun time. You can feed the goats from outside the enclosure, trust me, that's the safest way to feed them, (based of seeing some guy that didn't pay attention). Once the food is gone, you can walk into the spacious enclosure where the goats and the chickens are roaming. Wear old shoes. Maybe bring a brush or different shoes to wear when you get back in the car. Not pricey at all. Good fun for little ones. They all want to go back. read more

We had the best time celebrating my daughter's bday. Randi the owner of Barnyard buddies and her staff were amazing! Randi was on top of all my emails and answering all my questions and the staff the day of were super helpful not just with me but with checking in my party of about 80! I would 100% recommend booking them for your parties! A few helpful tips for large parties and if you want to have a larger setup like did I would recommend booking both time slots for your event, that way you have time to set up and not be rushed. I would also rec spending the extra $35 on the private pony for your party. It's not much extra and makes a HUGE difference! They get busy on the weekends and with the short window you don't want your guests spending unnecessary time waiting in line with everyone to ride the pony. The only con I can think of is that they close so early. My family is never on time so 5pm was a pretty quick window for us after all that planning. If there was a way to extend the party hours I would love to know. I've seen they have hosted a night time event per their IG so maybe it's something to investigate if you are looking to book. Came here as a kid a lot. So I guess nostalgia was a big part of why we came back. I was a kid but I don't remember the old ownership charging just to enter. I get times have changed but there's plenty of places to go that don't charge just to see animals. Was about $6 a person. A pony ride which I think is two laps was I believe $8 a ride. Now, we did chose a hot day to go but at about $70 it wasn't much of a day. Not much shade. The pony ride was one at a time. And animals were cute but the food to feed them is expensive. Overall I'm sure a birthday party or school trip would be fun. And it was fun to see the animals. But not bringing the fam back any time soon. I have started bringing my daughter here for lessons and let me say, she loves it! We are a Spanish speaking household, and her trainer Marilyn was able to help us in that aspect. She has been with her these past few weeks and has helped her improve her riding skills greatly. The petting zoo is included with each lesson and is a great place to come and spend time. Everyone here is very helpful and friendly. We will be taking a break during the hot months, but will be back in the fall. 10/10 recommend. read more

The cutest small little barnyard! Easy to locate, plenty of parking. We visited on a Sunday morning at opening. You can pay cash or card, but they charge more for card, so BRING CASH! We paid for or group and bought a few cups of animal food. I decided to wait to buy a pony ride ticket until my daughter warmed up and was for sure going to ride. We started with feeding the goats, which were a little aggressive lol. My toddlers were a little apprehensive, so my husband and I ended up feeding them all the food hahaha. There is a cute photo backdrop for pics. You can walk into the goat area to pet the animals including pigs! There was a cow, chickens, bunnies, horses, etc! They also had a small play area with toys as well as a large grass area with picnic tables! I would definitely plan to return during lunch time or bring snacks and enjoy the picnic tables! My daughter asked to ride the pony so I purchased a ticket and we waited in a short line. The 3 kids in front of us started crying as they got up to the pony and didn't want to ride. They staff were all very patient and told the parents they could try again later. My daughter had rode horses before so she was excited! You have the option to lead the horse or let the staff lead, I chose to lead her horse. I think we circled 3 times, plenty of time. She loved it! Highly recommend visiting! The Circle LB scholars visited in February 2024. We were excited to spend all morning... visiting the petting area, take in some lessons, and have lunch. After 1 1/2 hours we're done? Now we have 3 more hours to kill? Lakewood Barnyard Buddies is the perfect activity for young children. Entry fee is about $6-$8 and the pony rides are about the same. I appreciated that the pony rides can be credited for another activity (like feeding the animals) if your child doesn't like/is afraid of the pony. Inside the barnyard is a play area with toys + sand table, which was nice because toddlers gravitate towards that area. Outside of the barnyard, is a nice sized grass area with tables. What a great way to spend the afternoon with a small child! Our granddaughter brushed a massive pig until he fell asleep, fed goats one by one like Mother Theresa, thinking they were starving (they were not), rode a pony, saw a cow, held a chicken, and played in the play area (behind the petting zoo) for almost two hours with play horses and barns. This lovely area has comfortable chairs for parents to sit in the shade and watch them play. The staff were gentle and sweet with her and had soft, kind words. This petting zoo is great for toddlers. Very affordable entertainment, with a small cup of goat/sheep feed available for $2.50 ($2 if paying with cash). Most of the goats were friendly and not aggressive, even when feeding them. There was also a small play area with plenty of farm-themed toys for young kids. They advertise sheep n rabbits (plural). We came primarily to see the rabbits. But the day we visited there were no sheep and only one rabbit. Which was UNAVAILABLE to pet (they said it was "shy"). I feel compelled to share our experience because it was honestly frightening and I want other parents to be aware. On March 23rd, we had a birthday party for my son's 5th birthday at Barn Yard Buddies. He was on a pony ride, but the "pony" was actually a full-sized horse. The way the rides were run were unsafe. The handlers had two horses walking side by side instead of one in front of the other, and the horse my son was on clearly did not like being next to the other one. The horse bucked him off and he hit the ground head-first. We were terrified. I am so grateful he's okay, but we still ended up in the ER because he was in pain and was complaining of a headache. What has really stuck with me is how the owner reacted afterward. They refused to take responsibility or help with any of the medical costs after something that should not have happened in the first place. I'm sharing this because safety should come first, and I'd hate for another child to go through what ours did. read more

My son sings "Old Mac Donald Has a Farm" 24/7, literally. Needless to say, I spend a lot of time taking him to farm-like places to see animals. Barnyard Buddies is our go-to spot, and we love it there. We feed the goats, brush the goats, chase the chickens, and ride ponies. We try to go every week, but if not, we're there a couple times a month at least. They also have a bunch of farm toys that we have at home that no one ever plays with. However, they play with them here, so that also makes it worth it. We can easily spent 2-3 hours here without getting bored. read more

Went to a birthday party here today and really loved it! They seemed well-run and organized despite it being somewhat crowded. I liked how there were signs everywhere and people just.. followed the rules. They didn't need to be overly rigid or hover over guests, if that makes sense!
