MURRIETA: There are several Barron's markets in the Temecula/San Diego area. I stopped at this one off Clinton Keith & 15 Frwy. Very nice selection of fruits and vegetables, organic goods and all else somewhat like a Sprouts /Trader Joe's only bit more pricey. Hence 4 stars. Julian pies in their freezer section. Good selection of Wine & beer. There's a hot soup bar with about 6 or 7 different kinds. I did notice the chicken noodle was almost completely broth. I suppose most people uploaded all the goodness earlier in the day. Hot food, Fresh salad bar and Olive bar if you want a quick bite. Pay per pound. I went there mainly for their infused olive oils & vinegars. They have a balsamic fig that makes a dynamite salad dressing. It's an impressive selection and nice sampling area. I got the artichoke and garlic, which is very tasty. Easy parking. read more

This place had a wide variety of different foods, they were definitely healthier than most other stores. I do wish they had more allergy friendly options including Sabra Hummus, Columbian dark chocolate, and Liquid death. The staff at this store is very respectful and calm, they are quiet if you don't want to talk but also talkative if you are a chatter box. So... I was looking for a Sprouts that was close to Murrieta. I searched on Yelp and happened upon Barons in Wildomar. I took a chance and visited the store. The items in stock reminded me of Organic Roots in Temecula (minus the juice the bar), which was a good thing because I was looking for things that I would normally buy at Sprouts or Roots (but can't find in the more mainstream stores). The staff are friendly, which added to the pleasant shopping experience. I recommend this store highly, though be prepared to pay Roots/Sprouts-type prices. That's what you can expect from organic or non-GMO items (sadly). read more

This place is so clean! I love a good clean market! All the produce is beautifully organized and fresh. My trip was the first I found not so good produce. I wanted to get the white strawberries but every container that had left was full of mold. Everything else was great. No issues waiting in line. I LOVE this store. Not too original of me, but the truth, I LOVE this store! Gads! I reviewed it again after one month. I thought I missed it. Oh well! Here's an updated version I guess. LOL! I shop Baron's in Murrieta because it's closer to me. The Wildomar store is larger though and as I write this, I'm reminded how much I love this store too. While Baron's might be compared to Trader Joe's and maybe that's a somewhat true analysis, Baron's is unique unto itself. Both stores have their own charisma. Baron's Wildomar and the Murrieta store are more spread out. Trader Joe's has tight isles and it takes some maneuvering to get through it. I honestly don't mean this as a negative for either store. There is a certain charm to each. I just feel fortunate to have them all in our neighborhood. Both Baron's, and I'm sure their other locations, have a wonderful soup and salad bar. I buy from both whenever I go. Another marvelous thing are their olive oils! Darn cool! Oh! And fresh squeezed orange juice, made on the spot. Ummm... I can smell it now, as I imagine it. They both have a vast wine selection as well as other libations. Employees have always been major helpful and thoughtful of any questions I've had. Always polite. I've got to get back over there. Went in looking for the soup and salad bar. Since it was my first time ever at a Barons Market I asked a friendly employee from the store who was super helpful and walked me over to it! He showed me where to get the cups and told me some recommendations of what soups were good and popular. There were a lot of different soups! I couldn't decide what to get but I ended up getting the chicken and noodle soup with some bread on the side. I really liked how affordable the soups were because you buy them by ounces depending on the size cup and it starts at $2.50ish to $7. The soup was good and light, it was great for a quick lunch break. Overall great first time visit and the customer service was amazing I wish I would have gotten that young man's name. The soup was good and I saw they sell a lot of organic foods so I will definitely be back to check it out and buy some groceries there! i was at the hot bar putting food in my bowl and was wondering where the mac and cheese was because i recently that their mac and cheese was great i looked over and it was at the soup bar? didn't think it would be such a problem if i added literally less then a whole scoop to my container. a employee walks over sarcastically saying i need to put it in a soup contaioner because it would need to be payed separately but then she added or i think it would be okay because it was less than a scoop let me ask. as i wait feeling self consious a employee comes over to tell me again that the manager said to put it in a soup bowl that cost 3.99 i was not gonna pay 3.99 for half scoop that i only wanted it was literally a bite size scoop. I was in the area with my sister to look for Julian pies on a Sunday morning in September. It is similar to Bristol farms in Los Angeles which carries speciality items, such as olive oil. They also sell to go sandwiches and side items around $5. Next I noticed frozen Julian pies $14.99 in variety of flavors. My favorite is apple crumb pie over regular apple pie. The price is cheaper than at near by Market. I didn't wait very long to pay for my pie. read more

I've been going to the Baron's in Temecula for some time and when I found out there was one closer to me, I started coming here. I come here at least once a week for groceries. The fruits and veggies are grown locally and there's amples selection of organic fruits and vegetables for not a lot more. Most of the produce are organic, it's just not certified organic, but the certified organic section cost a little bit more, but not by much. I spend hours in here picking out fruits and vegetables for my infant's baby food, since I make my own and they have to be organic. However, there are organic baby food jars for sale here as well. It's also nice to be able to buy hard-to-find grains, types of flours, trail mix, etc., you can choose the amount you want by scooping it up and putting them into bags and writing the sku number on it for the cashier to ring you up, very easy. I buy gluten-free flour here and there's a wide variety of gluten-free stuff in the back. I also get the grass-fed beef here, a nice selection of them, whenever I miss going to the farmer's market to get some grass-fed beef or lamb, I come here to grab a few packages of it. Makes a huge difference and tastes so much better. You can also get organic chicken and delicious sausages here. The wines here are also a great selection, you can get local wines from the local wineries for so much cheaper. I may not sign up to be a member of anymore wineries after this. The selection of beers are great as well, it's a beer lover's haven! Don't feel like cooking? Barons have a section of pre-cooked foods that you can help yourself to, from soups, roasted chickens to rolled grape leaves, I always grab a container of grape leaves and olives to go. This place makes me feel better about eating healthy and organic without breaking the bank. It's also nice to see that they charge you more for the unhealthy cereals than the healthy ones. It encourages you to eat better. For high quality foods, environmentally friendly products and wonderful customer service, come here. Never again, am I stepping into a Ralph's. read more

Their soups are delicious. If there was any complaint at all it would be things are a little pricy. But if you want quality with anything you're gonna pay a little extra money for it. My family's go to grocery store. Healthy, friendly alternative to supermarkets. Staff is largely friendly and competent. Had some issues, but everyone is nice overall. Contrary to what they would like you to believe, their prices are not low. This is a more premium option than the Stater Brothers down the road, and there isn't any better value for money to attract a more budgeted household. Products vary from mainstream to fringe. The salad bar is a great place for a healthy lunch. read more

WARNING! Today I purchased fresh ranch from the "produce bar", was rung up at one register, and got to my car. Realized I had been charged the "Olive Bar" price so I went back inside. I was told by the girl that originally rang me up and made the error to go to another register where a girl in the black polo shirt could issue my refund. Here's the PROBLEM! My container of ranch weighed more at her register! When I brought it to her attention, she reweighed it 0.01 less. I said maybe your scale is dirty. She lifts the lid and it was absolutely filthy with Scuzz and goop and trash! I got a "sorry"! The problem is, 40% of the items at this store are SOLD BY THE POUND! And if their registers scales are not weighing accurately, either you're paying more, register to register, or you're paying less! I went on their website to notify them and got an automated "email reply"(see pics) First scale said 0.90 Second scale said 0.95 And weighed again on second scale said 0.94 The Department of Weights and Measures needs to get in there!!! Just beware, and try to use register one to pay less! read more

I use to work at a place like this! for a few years while I was in college. From a guy that knows first hand what it's like, this place is "A-OK" They don't do "Case Discounts," which to me is completely WACK, especially since I know a lot of whole food stores that do, so I was a little surprised when Denise told me that THEY don't, but I wasn't going to hold it against her. All the goods were FULLY STOCKED, all the food looked FRESH, and there was O.K CUSTOMER SERVICE. The cashier "Denise" greeted us and said all the usually nice things that cashiers usually say when they appear to care about the customer. The Double Chocolate Stout beer that I was buying DID slip out of her hands and hit the counter... now that i think about it, I don't recall hearing an apology for shaking up my beer... hmm... Overall, it's a decent store when you're looking for a more healthier option. Just make sure they don't shake up your beer!! read more

The best clam chowder! It is so tasty, rich and they dont skimp on the clams. Paired with a kombucha, it makes one of the best quick and scrumptious meals! One of my favorite on-the-go meals. Love it!! I didn't get to explore as much as I'd like to because I was on my lunch break but I loved what I saw. Their salad/pasta bar is amazing! Why four stars? I had to subtract one star for their lack of Vegetarian premade sandwiches. I'm not vegetarian but I like to have days where I cut meat out and today was one of them. I suggest to either add more vegetarian options to your premade meals to go, or maybe offer sandwiches made to order? Beyond that, A plus! read more

I love this market! I come all the time and everyone is always so helpful and kind! But today I was "helped" by Pamela at the register and she was EXTREMELY rude. She clearly wasn't happy to assist me in any way. I was trying to purchase the freshly squeezed Orange juice but I couldn't fill the whole thing because they ran out of oranges and they said they were done for the day. So I asked her, how it works since it's not full and she literally looked at me and said "I don't know" then proceeded to say "I can't give you a discount if that's what you want" and I didn't even ask for that, I just wanted to know how the price would work since it was completely full. I walked out VERY disappointed. To Pamela, please fix your attitude when speaking to customers, your behavior towards me was completely unnecessary. PLEASE GET RID OF THE HOT CURRY! I absolutely love this store. I love the selection, the interesting items in rotation, the staff, the cleanliness, the convenience, the produce, basically everything about the store. I used to come at least once a week, even if I was just driving by and had a few minutes to kill. Ever since they put in the hot bar I can't stand walking around the store. I used to go in regularly, now I go in whenever enough time has passed that I forget the store smells like curry. I know I'm the weird one, here. Most of the world loves curry but to me it smells like a diaper in a rice cooker. I'm sure I will still come to the store. But I will not come anywhere near as often as I used to. read more

Although Barons isn't as large of a selection as other health food stores, I but it has a lot of unique offerings. I also believe that Barons chooses quality products. I've always found the Wildomar store has nice employees, and today Peggy was exceptional. She was offering samples (another thing I like about Barons!) and was super friendly and really knew her stuff! A huge draw for me is the large selection of olive oils and balsamic vinegars, and Peggy gave me a great suggestion for a salad dressing mixing one of the oils with another of the vinegars. I don't typically venture into barons very often because they don't sell the majority of items I shop for on a regular basis and they're a tad pricey. However! The store is wonderful. It's clean and well kept. The employees are very nice and approachable. I was greeted at the door by a very nice woman who works here the last time I went in.
