After one session, the entire right side of my face became un-clenched (and "unlocked" -- those with TMJ will know what I'm talking about). I cannot believe the huge improvement. I will definitely be going back to Wildwood Medicine (continued treatment is recommended, at least for a few weeks) for both this issue and other issues as well. Also, there are several things I really love about this clinic: -- EXTREMELY professional staff; I work in the healthcare industry, and I can say with confidence that the patient care and facilities here are top-notch -- They take credit/debit cards (unlike many other acupuncture places) -- They allow walk-ins! -- Sliding scale from $20-40 for each regular visit ($30-50 the first visit). I have had jaw pain for 10 months and in just 2 visits the pain is gone and now being about 3 months later still no pain! She is also woking on me with Edema on my leg and waiting to see results on this, just started treatments on this. My biggest reason for coming here was I want to get off my blood pressure medication that I have been taking for years and between her treatments and the Chinese medicine my readings are SO much better so I know it will still take time but hoping next year I can throw those pills away for good! OA of Maine uses a percutaneous release with ultrasound leaving a tiny scar, very short recovery, and no need for physical therapy (PT). Obviously each case is different. My previous surgery was a mini-open release which required considerable PT. But bear in mind that the orthopedic surgeon will advise the best procedure for your particular anatomy and issue.
