This means that she can file the initial paperwork, etc for an eviction but if your case goes to court she has an attorney she works with that handles that leg. When I first spoke with her she gave me fairly unrealistic timelines about how quickly my case could be resolved which was disappointing but unfortunately not the worst of it. Even though I sent her an email, detailing exactly how much my tenant owed. The wrong amount ended up on the paperwork. This mistake wasn't caught until months later when we finally had our first court date. It was my deadbeat tenant who pointed out the error because she knew we'd have to start the process all over again. And we did. We literally have to start all over. Months in the process was lost and Lawanda refused to take any blame. She instead blamed my property manager but he wasn't the expert who was supposed to be triple checking all the legal filings, she was, and she didn't. This was a very expensive mistake that I had to pay for as it meant dismissing the case and starting again. If I continued working with her I was going to have to pay all the court filing fees again, she didn't even offer to waive those. I would've looked for other representation either way but accountability does actually count for something. But she took none. I hired Lawanda to pay attention to the details , she didn't and for that I paid dearly. Would not recommend her after my experience.

I'll give you the pros and cons before giving you my overall recommendation…read more Pros: He seemed like a nice guy He knows the laws and can rattle them off to you in your consultation which will put you at ease. He has an admin which is helpful so that there is always someone who will get back to you when Zak is unavailable. Cons: He's only been a lawyer for a little over 4 years. He snapped at me because he was having a hard day, presumably, with a different case and then proceeded to become impatient with me after rattling off more legal jargon that I was trying to process into layman's terms. To the point where I had to snap back and tell him NOT to get testy with me. He doesn't know how to explain the legal terminology into plain language. Instead he'll just keep repeating the legal terms and you'll have to look them up later even if you ask him what that means. His flat fee for me and my case with the "discount" was $4200. So he's a quite pricey compared to more experienced lawyers that I had called. You can NEVER go to his office because you have to be "buzzed in" or have an appointment in order for them to let you in. Either way there's ALWAYS a reason given as to why you cannot go to his office. Which made me wonder if the address location was even real or just for website purposes. The biggest CON: Was that my case ended in a wash. Obviously not the legal term, but despite there being no winner or loser, I felt as though I had lost because I had spent a lot of money ($4200) on a lawyer, only for my landlords lawyer to voluntarily dismiss the case because Zak let him know why he was going to lose, leaving me open to my landlord serving me AGAIN. And for me having to spend MORE MONEY on another lawyer. So Zak gets to keep my $4200, gets to go back east on vacation, and my case is "technically" resolved.... Even though it's NOT because I now have the same problem as I did before hiring him! Learn from my very costly lesson: Find yourself a lawyer with more years of experience under their belt. If you do go with Zak, do NOT do a flat fee. Pay by the hour and make sure he gives you an itemized listing of everything he's done with all his time accounted for. Remember: You're hiring a lawyer so you don't have to go to law school just to get justice you deserve.

NOW they want another $3,500 to basically change the pages of beneficiaries with the pages that I emailed to them. On a computer this would not take more than TEN minutes. It only took me 20 minutes to type it up myself from scratch using the original document as a template. I don't see ANY OTHER reviews of what happens a few years down the road. So, let me warn you - That is when you get treated like trash! I had to make several calls to get them to correct a clerical error THEY had made in my original document. (They had put the name of another client instead of mine upon whose death my charitable donation should be made.) I left numerous messages before anyone called me back. Something that should have been handled quickly required way too much effort on my part. NOW, I see what I did wrong. I should have charged them $3,000 for making the error that was CLEARLY just sloppy work on their part. Then there was the Email that that I kept getting from them with the title "No Time to Wait? Learn How to Update Your Trust in Our Free On-Demand Webinar". I got this email at least six times. When I clicked on it, there was absolutely NOTHING to do with updating your trust. I called the office to find out "what's up?" No reply. I sent an email. When I finally got a response to my email about this seminar, I got a reply from them saying there is no such video available - yet. When I got the same email about a week later - alerted the them and they assured me that I WOULD be REMOVED FROM THE LIST. Nothing was mentioned about removing this inaccurate email completely from others. I recently asked "Is it done yet?". I was told It is coming soon!
