What an awesome workout! In just 50 minutes, I got one of the most engaging, challenging (in the…read morebest way), and effective workouts I've had in a long time. I walked in a little nervous -- okay, very nervous -- since it was my first class and my first time ever doing Pilates, but I immediately felt so welcomed. Kristin was incredibly warm and kind from the start. She checked in with me throughout class, made thoughtful adjustments when I needed them, and made sure I felt comfortable and confident the whole time. That kind of attention makes such a difference! The entire class had such a supportive, positive vibe -- no intimidation, just encouragement. I woke up today definitely feeling yesterday's workout (hello, muscles I didn't know I had!) but already feeling stronger and so proud of myself for trying something new. I'm officially hooked and can't wait for my next class!

My first experience at Sweat House San Clemente was mixed. The actual class was great, and Allison…read morewas fantastic. She was welcoming, motivating, and made the workout enjoyable. The Megaformer class itself was challenging and well worth taking. Unfortunately, what happened afterward completely changed my impression of the studio. About 16 hours later, I received a "missed class" email that was surprisingly harsh and off putting, especially as a first time client. I was never aware that I needed to check in on the iPad, and as a new guest, I assumed my attendance was already accounted for. Had I known there was a separate check in process, I would have happily completed it. While I understand the need for attendance and cancellation policies, the tone of the email felt accusatory and unwelcoming. Instead of reaching out to verify what happened, the message immediately focused on strict policies, penalties, and waivers. As someone trying the studio for the first time, it left me feeling more like a problem than a valued customer. Allison deserves recognition for providing an excellent class experience, but the studio's follow-up communication left such a negative impression that it overshadowed what was otherwise a great workout. I hope the studio considers a more welcoming approach for first time clients, especially when attendance issues may simply be the result of confusion about the check in process. **EDIT TO ADD- Was just charged a late cancellation fee, I do not recommend this studio.

I have spent the…read morepast month (literally no joke) trying to get in touch with the San Clemente studio because they charged me an extra month even though I had moved 7 hours away and was assured my account would be terminated on July 29th. Immediately after seeing a faulty charge hit my credit card on July 29th, over the past 30 days alone I have called 14 times, physically drove into the studio and spoke to the front desk associate who was unable to assist because she wasn't a manager, and then emailed 7 times. The management team here is completely unresponsive. When I was able to get ahold of a front desk associate, they assured me multiple times that Ashlie, the manager at the time, would call me back same-day which never once happened. Such a disappointment after being a client for several months. I've lived in a few cities different cities over the past five years for work so had the chance to try out Pure Barre studios elsewhere - I can confidently say the San Clemente studio is the least responsive and most disorganized which is disappointing because the clients and instructors are fantastic. I am hoping by leaving this review that Ashlie or someone else in management will finally get in touch with me. I spoke to a couple friends who use the studio and they too (even as active clients) struggle to get their phone calls returned so it doesn't sound like this is a one-off occurrence ... at this point it's a matter of principle and customer service 101 -- return calls and when you say you're going to cancel a customer's account actually do it (in this case, an irresponsible person didn't follow through and now I'm out $200).

I had meetings in the area so I used my classpass app to book a Barre3 class. When I arrived to the studio, their front desk and day care staff were both waiting outside since one of them had forgotten their key. We were unable to get into the studio until the instructor came in. This means less time to settle in before class. Per the first timer usual, there was a waiver to sign for the studio. This waiver was on paper and lengthier than standard. I prefer the more efficient digital waivers and it would be more efficient to fill this out prior to class, like other studios on classpass can do. They have lockers but I'm not a fan on the size of their lockers. It was tall but not wide. Not good for fitting my purse. I had to rearrange my belongings. For all the parents out here, you would love that they have a child care area which services you can reserve ahead of time. I don't have kids so I don't care too much for this feature. Also their parents had to take them to the restrooms before class started so I was unable to use the restroom before class. The studio was cutely decorated. These extra touches... I also don't care too much for but I imagine some folks enjoy it. I like that the studio space was wide at first but upon entering the studio I immediately felt the graininess of their floor. It was a cork like tile that might be old or not placed down well to begin with because you can feel the transition between tiles. Not smooth like the wood flooring or carpet. Also my feet were clean when I came in but all dirty upon my exit. Our instructor for the class was Jessica and she was nice, positive spirited, high energy throughout the class. She kept shouting out instructions and motivating us throughout class. Props to her for being able to speak the whole time while mostly doing the work out with us also. Unfortunately I didn't feel like the work out was intense enough. The Barre3 classes combine barre, pilates and yoga concepts but most of their classes are 45 minute formats with a few 60 minute classes. The 45 minute class was not intense enough for me and I felt like a lot of that time was the warm up and end of work out stretch. The one nice thing is that after class Jessica asked us to set aside our equipment to the front and that the studio would take care of cleaning it. That saved me a bit of time to finally be able to use the restroom and run off to my next meeting for the day. Even if Barre3 was more local to me, I would still choose other work outs over this one.

The check in process was very easy and the front desk staff was very welcoming. The class itself used a mat, ball, light hand weights (5lbs) a booty band and the ballet barre. Every move was shown with a modification for the complete newb to the advanced. As I looked around the room, I noticed so many different types of women were taking the class and I think that is so cool. It's easy on the joints and yet you will still sweat and feel the burn.

If you're in the area and thinking about trying it, I really recommend giving it a shot.
