I cannot say enough wonderful things about this horseback riding school. My grandson is autistic…read moreand intellectually disabled, and he does not learn quickly. From the very beginning, the owners Ellen and the instructors Bri, Lorraine, and Charlotte have shown incredible patience, kindness, and understanding. They truly take the time to work with him at his own pace, never rushing him and always encouraging him. Because of their dedication, he has gained confidence, skills, and joy through horseback riding that we never thought possible. It is rare to find people who are not only skilled instructors but also genuinely caring and compassionate. We are beyond grateful for everything they have done for my grandson. I highly recommend this school to any family, especially those with children who need extra patience and support.

At almost $100 a lesson it's quite expensive but since the school covers it we wanted to let my daughter try it. it took a few days and a few phone calls to get someone to call us back. Once we spoke with the owner the rest went smooth until starting. On our first and second lesson the instructor was rude and harsh to my daughter. She basically called her stupid and had little patience. We missed her next 2 lessons because my daughter refused to go with out me there to say something if the instructor was rude to her again. This week we messaged the instructor that we would be there and we had been taken off the schedule with error communication. We will not be going back to this facility.

I was able to come here in the middle of the week around noon. The GPS made this place easy to find. There is plenty of parking here at pena adobe park and lagoon valley park. The hike is located at lagoon valley park, so don't mix those up. You do have to pay $5 for parking, and the machine kiosk was broken when I went, but you can still pay through the park mobile app, which is what I did. The hike is listed as moderate, but felt borderline difficult to me (maybe I'm just out of shape). There is a lot of up hill when you first start, and because there wasn't a lot of shade combined with me going on the hottest day of the week (low 80 degrees), it did make it feel more difficult. After I parked, I was a bit confused on where to go so had to ask someone finishing up their hike for the direction. I was instructed to go up the main trail past the gate for the main trail to the lighthouse at the top. There are lots of trails here, but the one to the top of the hill is the most popular, and probably the most difficult). Once you park in the lot by the lake/pond, you cross the road to the grassy side and follow that trail to the gate that keeps the cows inside. There is another easier hike/walk your can take around the lake/pond, which is mostly flat. The views on this hike are great. Despite it being a little warmer, the breeze helped a lot. I liked the views and made it to the top after about 1 and a half hours. In total, it took me about 2 hours to finish the hike. And that's with a 20 minute break halfway going uphill. Going downhill is a lot faster. I'll be back for one of the other trails and how to bring family and friends to join.

Nice walk on a dry day. Would be super muddy in the rain. Seems like a place that's only good during a particular weather/season. Parking is $5+. Lots of picnic tables, some bathrooms and a playground available. We'll probably be back if we find ourselves in the area.

I am allowed to bring in and store my own food (orchard grass from Higby's) with the standard stall rate and have arranged for fan service for a fee (Matt graciously installed the fan in my mare's stall) so my mare gets TLC when it is hot. The stalls (x-small wood chips covered + matted paddock) are kept very clean, with someone coming to remove manure at least twice a day. It is a busy barn with some boarded horses and a many lesson horses, so it is easy to arrange for someone to help blanket and provide grain to my mare, daily. The owners live at the barn so there is someone keeping an eye on horses 24/7. I have learned so much from my trainer CeCe who has a background in eventing. I feel safe during our sessions, and she takes the fitness level and soundness of my horse into consideration. Pine Trails offers large number of lessons weekdays after school and weekend mornings, so it can become a very busy during these times, but my mare enjoys the higher level of activity at this barn and would be bored otherwise! I generally ride during the late evenings and there are usually at least one or two people out and about for company. During the hot days of summer, there is the option of riding your own horse at the coolest hours of the day. As mentioned before I truly appreciate the flexibility Michelle, the owner, offers. Arena lights are on until 10PM. The footing in the four arenas is sand, crushed walnut shells, or a combination of both, watered once a day and dragged a few times a week. Ivan, a local farrier, is wonderful and comes to the barn every week, so arranging appointments is easy. The barn-cats, dog, geese, ducks, and many other animals are a fun bonus to the experience.

I absolutely recommend Cloverleaf Ranch to any family considering horseback lessons for themselves…read moreor their children. We've been at their ranch since September 2024, and every single staff member we've encountered (including office, groundskeeping, and instructional staff) has presented themselves with the utmost professionalism, kindness, and enthusiasm. They've taught our boys how to ride and care for horses in a safe and skilled manner, all while exhibiting patience, dignity, and grace. They are friendly and welcoming at all times, and I feel no hesitation to trust our instructors with the safety of my children. The safety of their students and horses are of primary concern here--as it should be. I must offer an extra special thank you to Mia and Izzy, who have always made it their goal to teach my kids everything they possibly can about riding and equestrian care. It has been a blessing and a joy to work with them, and we love them both dearly! Thank you, ladies, for your dedicated work, and for always bringing upbeat smiles, wisdom, and positive attitudes to your students. I'd be remiss if I didn't also give honorable mention to Carley, who is not our instructor, but who is often on the training grounds during our appointment time. She makes us feel welcome, and goes out of her way to be friendly and encouraging while we are there. Thank you, Cloverleaf. Your pursuit of excellence in your craft has been of great benefit to our family. Keep up the good work!

A group of 10-12 girls and boys appearing to range in age from 10-14 are cussing and hitting each other. It is clear this behavior is acceptable and allowed as nothing has been addressed. They are speaking loud enough for me to hear across the room. The staff look bored, with one ignoring the obstacle course zone while talking to staff in the next one. The unattended zone, with the climbing and obstacles, has zero staff looking at it or within it (she has her back to it talking to staff in the dodgeball area). Kids in the obstacle course area are hitting and pushing each other, knocking down a child as they run throughout the zone. Staff, for the most part, are attentive or at least looking in the direction of the zone they are within. Our daughter is enjoying herself and that definitely counts. We traveled the distance for her to enjoy the glow hour experience. She greatly enjoyed the glow experience in Tahoe and the safety of the kids were the only focus of the staff. The play structures and zones were well maintained and clearly seen soap of recent. This location and experience is definitely not that. It is unlikely she will return with me, this space does not allow me to feel comfortable.
