Sunday well spent with the fam at Barrett-Jackson! This was my first time attending the iconic car show and I gotta say - it was pretty cool! Even a car novice like myself could appreciate the thousands of brands and models on display. There are styles for everyone, my personal favorites being the land rovers, from vintage models to the newest ones. The space is HUGE and packed with cars as far as the eyes can see. What I wasn't expecting was all the other random stuff being sold. Clothing, furniture, art, you name it! There was a little bit of everything, so it was fun to wander around and check out the different booths. We even saw a few helicopters! My favorite part of the day had to be the foot long corn dog. We go to Barrett Jackson every year. They have lots of interesting vendors, food(local eats and carney style) and things to do. My favorite adventure was getting in with a professional driver and drifting in the new Toyota Supra. They also offer rides in a Corvette , Mustang GT, Dodge Challenger and new this year the Mach E. There's and off road course if you want to get jiggled about. These are all included in the price you pay for general admission. Ford, Chevy and Dodge give away a free shirt with email sign up. They have thousands of cars on display from some of the largest brands such as Ford, Chevy, Cadillac, Lexus, BMW Toyota as well as all of the cars up for auction. This is one of those after holiday events I occasionally go to. Barrett-Jackson goes on for a week in January and is held at WestWorld in Scottsdale. Despite how much of a pain the ticket, parking, and security process can be, I do enjoy watching people bid on cars and walking around the vendor area. The showcase room always has some beautiful cars to look at. There is also food and drink options if you get hungry. The number of people in attendance and ticket prices increase during the weekend when the more valuable cars go up for auction. Barrett-Jackson is a American collector car auction company that started in 1971 and is headquartered in Scottsdale. These auctions take place in other cities like Las Vegas, Palm Beach, and Houston and are televised. It's not unusual to see celebrities attending Barrett-Jackson. Some of them even put up their own cars for auction. Barrett-Jackson is also known for their philanthropic efforts as they raise money for many charities through the sale of their vehicles. read more

They had food vendors and others selling a range of items from jewelry to bullion silver coins. I would absolutely love to attend if it comes back again. There was something for everyone. I would give them zero stars if I could. These guys don't care about their customers at all. We spent 250k at it's auction, had a problem and not only would Mike McCullough not help us, he told the consignors not to help us. He, and the rest of the staff are pieces of s***. If you want to go to a great auction, go to Mecum. Barrett used to care but not anymore and they lie about what they promise. And they can't afford to have the trash picked up. My wife and I bought a car at the recent west palm beach auction in April 22. The car I won at auction was a 1970 Camaro SS that undergone a full rotisserie restoration. Gorgeous car, on the outside and even under the hood. Once I bought it, that's when it all began. We walked out of the building to see the car, hood up, trying to start it. Would not start and after numerous failed attempts it was towed to a holding area for sold cars. We followed and were inquisitive about what the problem might be, no details, as a matter of fact I asked for the battery to be charged since I would be back the next day to pick it up. That was the first time I met Mike mccoulxxxx or whatever his name was, he is the director of consignments. I asked to have the battery charged and you swear I was asking for a date with his wife, ignorant personality. Whatever just charge the battery. Next day car would not start, pushed to an outdoor area under a tent. After waiting for wires to clear and to get the keys, they brought me car to me and it coasted t a stop, assuming it was running. The person at the key tent was once again a total ass, get this car out of here I need the real estate, was his direction. I said I will need some help to start it and load it to a car trailer, he said I needed to figure that out, you own it now, it's your problem... what a great impression of the Barrett Jackson employees, I cannot say asshole enough times. One guy, I wish I knew his name, helped me to get it running and helped me get it on a trailer, it was even further downhill from there. Got home, car needed to be pushed off the trailer and into a garage. Towed the car to a local mechanic, replaced the starter and battery and started the car and it sounded like a lawn mower, no power to move, no reverse gear, tie rods were loose, front springs were not seated correctly in the a-frames, the exhaust was welded by a 10 year old ( no offense to 10 year olds) bondo in the frame and the list goes on. So now I contact the auction house I get the you bought this as is, it's your problem, but here is a grievance letter you can fill out and the seller will get copied in an attempt to get this worked out. I completed the report with photos, documents, and pleads to resolve the issue amicably since I did spend a lot of cash on this car. So as I now write this, I sent yet another email to Mike mcxxxz whatever his name is, copied who I think to be the actual leaders of the auction, Craig, Steven and the coo but I am not expecting much since I have been ignored for this long. The car is in a garage, not enough power from the 350sb to climb a ramp to a car trailer, and not a squeak from the original owner or the auction house. Buyer beware of the bullshit you will go through if you ever decide to purchase a car at one of these events. If I can give this place a negative 5 stars I would. read more

Terrible security check point the right hand didn't know what the left was doing. The signs they had posted above each line didn't mean squat. The purchasing of tickets was slow and you had to fight the congestion to get away from ticket window and enter the auction area. I purchased a ticket to attend the Barret Jackson event in Scottsdale, AZ. Upon arriving to the event, the gate was closed and I was unable to attend. I have attended the event in previous years and had no issues getting into the event for the last few hours. The website does not provide a specific time to close doors. The Barret Jackson rep explained she could not assist and provided me with the number to AXS. I spoke with a rep at AXS, she explained she would put in a ticket and have the situation looked in to for further review. I called a few days later to follow up. My ticket was denied because the rep said that all sales were final. I asked to speak with leadership, the rep stated they are a call center and do not have leadership. She was also very rude and dismissive when it came to the customer experience. Biggest issues: The situation is fluid as there is no stated closing time for the event on the website. I purchased a ticket for an event I could not attend to no fault of my own. The lack of discovery or attempt to find a resolution is concerning and I will make sure my money is spent with another ticket vendor outside of AXS. I will leave several more reviews as my situation was not resolved. read more

BUYER BEWARE!!!!! After our experience with Barrett-Jackson I felt compelled to leave this review to warn others about what we feel is a business model that is set up to enable bad actors to benefit from consumers. We attended our first (and last) Barrett-Jackson auction in October 2023 in New Orleans. We'd seen the auction on TV and thought it would be fun to attend one in person. We had a goal of purchasing a vehicle for our son if the right opportunity presented itself. We spent time going over the auction lot information and found a few vehicles of interest. One was a 2010 Mercedes Benz GL450. We were able to view the vehicle but there were signs at the auction telling attendees that they're supposed to look but not touch any of the auction vehicles. Now we know why. We bid for the GL450 and won with a $13,500 offer. This seemed in line with what the vehicle, with about 60K miles, would cost on the retail market. We paid an additional $2K to have the SUV shipped from New Orleans to our home in Texas. Once we took delivery, the problems started immediately. When I got in the car I quickly found that the AC didn't work. I drove it home and found many other issues. The automatic liftgate didn't work and both turn signals blinked fast revealing that there was a problem. Turned out that both side mirror turns signals needed replacing. Once home the alarm triggered randomly and I found that the windshield washer tube had a leak. I also found several cut wire connectors in the ashtray. The car needed new tires, brakes, and wipers - but we expected this. Because we knew the AC needed to be fixed we took it to our local Mercedes Benz dealership and discovered the magnitude of problems the vehicle had. Here is a list of those problems: Needed a new battery Sticking thermostat needed replacing Collapsed transmission mount needed replacing Crankshaft pulley was damaged and needed repair along with a new belt AC compressor needed replaced and several cut wires associated needed to be reconnected Several cut wires (presumably from a bad attempt at installing an aftermarket stereo) caused issues such as the fuel gauge not working and the liftgate not working. Electrical controller module inop We had some normal servicing done but aside from that the repair bill came out to over $8,000! And that was before the cost of new tires and brakes which we knew we'd have to replace. In addition, we were told that much of the damage seems to have been a result of the car being flooded. This probably should have been a salvage vehicle. It is fairly simple to ascertain that Barrett-Jackson doesn't even do a cursory inspection of the vehicles they sell for consignors. A simple look in the engine compartment, a flip of the AC switch, or a look in the ashtray containing cut wire ends would have revealed that this vehicle had many costly maintenance issues. But rather than do this the company falls back on an iron clad "as-is" selling policy so they can just get their 10% reseller fee. Of course, this legal tactic (which should be illegal) indemnifies them and places all of the risk on the buyer - requiring them to act with zero integrity. It is suggested that bidders interested in a vehicle contact the consignor to find out information on any vehicle of interest before bidding. However, consignors for vehicles on the lower end of the price range do not show up to the auctions. They realize answering questions would only reduce the amount they could receive for their lot. It's quite clear that the Barrett-Jackson business model places bidders/buyers at a severe disadvantage. Because bidders aren't allowed to touch the vehicles, they can only look inside (if the windows are down, which is not always the case). They cannot get under the hood, inspect the condition of the interior, or test to see which features operate correctly. They have no way of knowing what problems might be hidden. And because of Barrett-Jackson's sold "as-is" policy there is no method for recourse if a vehicle is misrepresented. Consignors who know this can take advantage and sell problematic cars for higher prices than they could at a proper dealership because Barrett-Jackson obviously does not require vehicles to meet any standard other than being able to make it to the auction block. Our Barrett-Jackson experience was beyond disappointing. The company, reflecting its horrible ethical stance, didn't even respond to my BBB complaint. I'm sure they receive these often. All I can do now is post my experience on as many review sites as possible -- and it seems I'm not the only victim. I will never attend this, or any other auction like it and I will warn everyone I know, every chance I get, to avoid them as well. If you want to watch or attend to see cool cars, great. But if you're thinking about buying a car at one of these auctions I HIGHLY DISCOURAGE IT. Avoid making a purchase at all costs because this is essentially a legal way to scam people. read more

I had a 2000 Corvette auctioned off at Barrett Jackson in June 2023. Now CityWide towing is harassing me because they want $2300.00 for the car at their place. They state the title is in my name. I contacted Barrett Jackson and was told that is my issue. I will have to email Citywide and the DMV. I can be sued. The car obviously was wrecked and abandoned. It isn't worth anything. It should not be my problem. How do I get Barrett Jackson to correct this? Maybe that is why they continue to lose business. They do not change titles of cars. read more

I have to say that the annual Barrett-Jackson Auto Auction would be well worth a cross-country, if not an international journey, to attend. We are lucky to live nearby in recent years. This is a must-do event if you have ever once in your life been enticed by the beauty of a body on four wheels. Like an old song, what better than a car to spark an old memory and feeling that you thought you had forgotten? If there is one word for this event it is: "Dazzling." The many vendors here such as Ford, Dodge, racing driving schools, Pennzoil, Cohiba cigats, craft breweries, and many, many others, make this an interactive experience, not just a spectator event. If you don't spontaneously and pleasantly gasp at least once at this event, well, you're probably not alive. It is that amazing. There are many sparkling vehicles from many eras (including yours) accessible inside and outside the main arena tents. This event is well worth the reasonable admission fees. By no means is this a little event. Security appears alert, engaged and ready to respond, which I find reassuring at any event in our current world. Check scheduled days for specific admission prices on specific auction days as they can vary and buy online to save some dollars and time spent in line at the event. Reduced fees for seniors and, I believe, children. There are wonderfully organized free parking areas a few miles away from the event with beautiful and clean transport buses that require little wait from here to there (free to ride, but note that drivers do it for tips only for this event, so play fair). Not even about the cars being junk and as-is. the staff are all horribly rude and "important." Getting a bidder number is like pulling teeth and when you do buy vehicles, we did at Houston 2022, it's a nightmare to check out. I just bought this car from Barrett Jackson. I was so excited to get this car because always one of the 1941 Cadillac and this one look like it was in perfect condition. It looks like it is brand-new. However shortly after taking off the car locked in third gear! Luckily it could take off, slowly. The car died and barely would start making me think the generator must not be working. Also the car barely has breaks. I was able to limp to an auto repair shop but unfortunately they do not work on old cars. So now I am waiting for a tow truck. I am surprised at Barrett Jackson doesn't test these cars at least to make sure they're safe to drive before letting them go. Also how dishonest must the owner of this car be to make that look cosmetically perfect but be a mechanical nightmare? I'm sure if you're a seller this is a great place to sell a car especially if you're hiding mechanical problems! It is also a pretty fun place to go to hang out and see all these beautiful cars. I'm sure many of the cars are exceptional mechanically as well as look cosmetically but obviously there is no way to be absolutely sure. I did speak to Barrett Jackson and they do have a grievance process so maybe they will make it right! I'll definitely do an update and rating will go up depending on the outcome. I may never buy a car from Barrett Jackson but I probably will come back to an even as a bidder because of the extra perks you get. I will vouch that this truly is one of the "worlds greatest collector car auctions." The variety of vehicles that this auction carries is just mind blowing. I had the opportunity to attend the Opening Night Gala, that provides hosted cocktails and culinary treats from an array of restaurants. I can't really describe the vehicles other than they were absolutely gorgeous. If you have the opportunity to attend the Gala (which is invitation only) you will be able to view all the vehicles before they go to auction. Aside from all the entertainment, drinks, treats and amazing cars...I'll say my one complaint would be the parking for the event this year, which was a tad inconvenient. They drastically separated the Valet lot from the public lot, which in turned made for a LONG walk from the public lot in heels, when there was plenty of open area they could have had for public near the valet. Especially with the weather being drizzly/sprinkling- it just made for a non pleasant hike to the "Garage" for the event. read more

Sellers Beware!! My parents purchased a 1957 Chevrolet Belair Hardtop (turquoise) in October of 1957 days before their wedding and it's in our family's possession to this day! It was always my Dad's wish to sell it at Barrett-Jackson in Scottsdale and be there to see it sold. Sadly, he passed in 2021 at age 91. My 88 year old mother, my 2 brothers and I decided to see my Dad's dream come true so my brother in Phoenix contacted Barrett-Jackson. After reviewing hundreds of pictures of the '57, B-J accepted the car. We were advised to ship the car quickly from South Dakota due to weather concerns. We did so to my brother in Phoenix to be housed in his garage til the sale. We were given a sell date of Monday, January 22, 2024. B-J was doing "something new and exciting" on Monday to bring more buyer interest and we were told that our car would be perfect. I purchased airline tickets for my brother and Mom from South Dakota and me from Pennsylvania because we all wanted to be there for my Dad to see his pride and joy sold. HERE IT COMES...Then, when we asked our B-J rep approximately what time the car was slotted to be sold on the 22nd, we were informed that "maybe we could ship the car to Las Vegas to be possibly sold there at that auction." Are you kidding me!!!! When we advised the rep that, no, that was not happening....keep in mind that the car had been accepted for sale in Scottsdale, we were told to get it shipped there from South Dakota and we had a sell date of January 22, 2024, we were ignored...no phone calls or emails answered. So, unfortunately, we had no choice but to pull the car from the auction. Sadly, we could not fulfill our Dad's dream after all. So, please beware when selling a car through Barrett Jackson! I would never buy a car from Barrett! I bought a 1965 Mustang I've been trying to get it titled for over a month just got off the phone with Mike no help no assistance. You do not receive the title for at least 30 days after you buy the car I'm a month into it trying to get a title so 60 days come to find out the car was from Canada. All the original Vin numbers were taken off this car new ones from Canada was put in replaced therefore this car is not showing up as a motor vehicle department Vin number sorry Mike you were no help bud! Their customer service stinks when they're receiving money they're there but we need some assistance they're off to the next city I guarantee of Barrett Jackson had this situation he would not go back to his own auction. Buy your cars from private seller you'll get the truth and you will not have to pay the 19% above inflated value of the car I'm not complaining about the commission and the taxes I'm complaining about buying a car and Barrett Jackson's not being able to help me get a title I've talked to Rachelle many many times and I finally got a hold of Mike today like I said no help. What do these 'fat-cats' look like you ask? You'll know them when you see them, they're easy to spot. Typically, they're fat, old and white, (pasty white to be more specific), wearing Hawaiian print shirts, Chevrolet ball caps, and usually with a dizzy blonde in tow...one who's tripping balls on vodka, red bull and Xanax. And yes, they'll be the ones engaging anyone who threatens to even mildly imply they might have a little more scratch than they do by outbidding them, squashing their childhood dreams of owning that IROC Z-28 Camaro by not just a few thousand dollars, but more like a few million. Used to go every year but skipped the last 4 years and went back for the 2014 show/auction. This was fun in the past but it is just impossibly huge and expensive now. You have to park , wait for bus, wait in line at entry, walk about 3 miles to the main auction arena, push through crowds of people with huge bags of purchases, avoid golf carts, strollers and wheelchairs, then can't get near the cars or auction platform. Take a break and some fries and snacks cost $20, a small glass of wine, $10 a cup of coffee $4. Then walk, walk, walk, walk, noise, bands, drunks, kids, shoving, shouting, loud machines and games. This is so NOT a car event, just a huge circus of shopping and high priced everything. Go to free car show at Indian Bend any Saturday. That is well worth the time. read more

It is not what it's hyped up to be. It's a high class State Fair with lots of low class vendors selling sunglasses and bric-a-brac in between the airplanes and tire companies. The biggest vendor selling labeled t-shirts, hats, shot glasses and other assorted garbage was Barrett-Jackson themselves selling with their goo on the crap. Of the 1200 or so cars only maybe a hundred or so are notable and they are the ones that gets floated during prime time on Speed. The only thing they didn't have was cotton candy and a Ferris wheel. I was very disappointed as a long time attendant at Monterey CA auctions during car week in August. You want a real quality auction event go to Gooding, Russo & Steel, Bonhams. read more

What can I say? I love buying cars and this is an event that I never miss each year in Scottsdale. I have purchased 3 cars over the years and my latest is one of my favorites from my childhood. The 1967 Chevy Camaro. Now I have owned more expensive cars than this but something about this particular car gives me a feeling of exhilaration. I thank the guys at Barrett Jackson for bringing such a great variety of beautiful cars to the Valley to choose from. If you attend this event and are there to buy, be sure you know what you're looking for and what you're willing to spend. If you're there simply because you love cars be sure to bring your camera. The vehicles here are incredibly beautiful. I do wish the buying process was a little less painful, as it can be long and drawn out in my opinion, but at the end of the day I'm happy with all of my purchases. How do I give zero stars? First off their website said they opened at 8am on Sat. We got there on 8am on Sat, and they have us sitting outside in the cold waiting to get in, until 8:45am, with no explanation, other than its "on hold". Finally they let everyone in, with no apologies given, nor any kind of compensation for having everybody waste 45 mins of their lives. Secondly, it costs $62.50 per person to get in on sat morning. They charge a $2.50 convenience fee when you buy online. In no way was this experience (including the 45 min on-hold opening) worth $62.50, more like $6.50. Among the 5 or 6 big car auctions that take place every January, this is the one with the most desirable cars, but save yourself the $55 and watch it on the Speed Channel. You'll get a better view and commentary of the auction on TV, as the bidder's area has become so huge that you can't get within 100 ft of the block. If you must go, play hookie from work and go there early in the week. You'll avoid the crowds, you'll see more cars, the admission will be lower, and every Snottsdale d-bag is there on Friday night and Saturday. It actually is one of the best car shows you could ever see, with lots of vehicles from all eras to fit every taste. Also, if you are in fact interested in bidding on the cars, check out some of the other auctions first (Kruse, Russo & Steele, Silver, etc.). BJ has like 5000 bidders competing for 1200 cars and you're probably going to overpay for any lot that you win. read more

Customer Service is lacking. Paid the $500 fee to be a bidder, and came down with a nasty cold/fever the day before my flight. Contacted BJ and asked if we could exchange my bidder pass for a guest pass (non-bidder) for one of my mechanics and was told to pound sand. I'll spend my money in Monterey. read more
