My Sister's Attic has been a huge find for my new home! With most of our belongings having been destroyed in our first home , when we decided to buy a new home in N. Scottsdale we found that getting new furniture to replace our destroyed furniture wasn't what it once was .. ahh , COVID strikes again! Everything had to be ordered and that meant we may be sitting on the floor!!! We popped into My Sister's Closet one morning while out grabbing coffee and to our surprise we found several beautiful pieces .. THAT I actually didn't need!! That's just the way! One was a solid wood antique buffet for less than $400. The other was a Picasso .. I didn't buy that as I have lots of art and some actually survived the 'flood' . I did buy the very large buffet & now I don't know where to put it!! I have been in many days to purchase a chandelier replacing the rather boring one that was in the home we bought for a more spectacular one and it was a steal! I found a Tommy Bahama solid wood end table that was on back order at Thomasville Gallery to go with my formal Lexington couches ALSO CURRENTLY on back order , ( don't get me started !). A beautiful baroque floor mirror that replaced my destroyed $1000 Pottery Barn one for my bedroom and this one has mucho personality. My Sister's Closet likely thinks I am obsessed but... we need things & well some of the things that come in to this store are very , VERY nice ! In fact, I have things to consign & I have nice things that I've meant to unload for years ! We have found that Todd is very kind & very helpful. I do hate that we purchased a large coffee table that ended up being delivered to our first home in another part of the valley , ( Yes! They have delivery!) , Just so we can bring it back and re-consign it now but our new home doesn't call for a table like that. I agree with the other reviewers who said the staff is rude. Last year I went in with pictures to see if they would accept my Bernhardt living and dining room furniture for consignment, and a male employee barely looked at my pictures, literally laughed in my face and waved me off with his hand. I understand not wanting to accept certain items for consignment, but he didn't have to be a dismissive, unprofessional jerk. An estate auction house picked up all my furniture and it all sold for a very fair price, so there was a silver lining to that experience. Recently I was in AJ's and, despite my better judgment and how I was treated last time, I walked over here to look for tv room furniture. They were not busy. Nobody greeted me or looked up to acknowledge my existence, you could cut the tension and negativity with a knife, and there was some loud mouth female employee behind the counter practically yelling into her cellphone for the whole store (and outside) to hear. I'm never going back. This place was sooooooooo much better when Ryan was running the shop years ago. I actually looked forward to consigning, buying and working with Ryan, who was a gem. Found a chair I liked at the Pima road location and they advised me they had a 20% off sale the following day. I asked if they could hold it and the salesman said no, that wouldn't be fair to the seller. The couple next to me asked if they could leave their credit card information and not ring it up till the following day and he agreed to do it. So in effect, doing the same thing so they could take advantage of the sale. Very inconsistent policy!!! read more

I've been here 3 times and always horrible customer service. The employees act like they have no time for you and told me people just do not understand the work involved...Oh I'm sorry! Great outlet for quality consignment furniture, accessories and art. You may not find a perfect prize on every visit but you will find something irresistible and well priced on a regular basis. Their website is kept current with dimensions and helpful photography. The staff is well trained, not pushy and honest. There are additional stores throughout the valley, all are worth a visit, the stock is wildly different from one to the other. Have no fear, these are quality pieces. read more

I was really excited to check out My sisters attic, I had several friends visit and recommended I check it out. I was disappointed that when I entered there was no greeting- the employees were discussing pricing an item. I strolled about waiting for my friend to arrive, and no one inquired if I needed assistance. When my girlfriend arrived we looked at items she was looking for- several items were priced competitively with what I would purchase New. I really wasn't impressed with the inventory at the time- I'm sure it changes often. I've always been a fan of consignment stores- but, some have better deals than others. I wasn't impressed with the prices for the damaged/used items they had this visit. I will try another visit to see if my first impression changes- I know that these shops inventories can change drastically and perhaps the prices will be more in keeping with the items. I really like this place! It's fun to shop and has a great many odds and ends to accent a room. One of my recommendations would be to arrive early in the morning, which I do sometimes before work -- the previous night's new items are on the floor, so you have the first opportunity to pick and choose. The staff have been very helpful and are always very friendly. The one downside is the lack of delivery on the larger item; but there's always the U-Haul folks. read more

My Sisters Attic has some of the best employees that work in the Scottsdale and Phoenix area. They are helpful knowledgeable and there isn't anything in the store you wouldn't want to take home. They make sure the product that they sell is not only excellent, it's in good shape for previously loved furniture accessories but it's priced to move. I've gone there in the morning and later that afternoon 50% of the store has been sold and replaced with new items. You can't go wrong redoing your apartment your home your cabin or your stables. Beware! I consigned a brand new 64" round solid oak dining table, retail price $4160 unfinished and spent another $1700 to professionally finish it. It was a beautiful designer table but, unfortunately, the height did not work with my chairs. The table sold quickly and I was shocked to receive a check for $357.30. Yes, they said they sold it for just over $700. Shocking! Needless to say, I would not recommend this business. read more

My Sisters Attic- Todd, Brie, Billy and Ash welcomed us like family into the State of Arizona and into their AMAZING CONSIGNMENT STORE!! We just bought a house here and moved with way too much stuff. They welcomed all of my stuff that I was reluctant to get rid of lol and were so complimentary of my taste! They always came outside in 110*temp and helped us unload. They explained the entire process and showed me how to check sales, etc. I have always been a firm believer that a business is only as good as who and what you see as when you walk in the door! My Sisters Attic deserves a million stars from start to finish. Excellent customer service, efficient, intelligent and the store is absolutely gorgeous! Items are up to date, priced well and stocked full! There were lots and lots of happy customers which says a lot. We brought several SUV full of stuff at different times. They were always so happy to take our stuff in. I likely am leaving out another employee and imagine he/she are equally as magnificent! What I do know is these four are diamonds in the rough these days! A fine oiled machine at this place...for sure!! We will be back ALWAYS TO DROP OFF AND TO SHOP! Horrible experience consigning a JD Challenger print. The print was framed with a quadruple mat including a name plate, signed by the artist and had a Certificate of Authenticity. When I brought the print to the store, the employee (Marc) asked what the purchase price was. I explained it was being consigned on behalf of an animal sanctuary and this piece was donated. The sanctuary has volunteers who research items before it's determined which consignment shop to use. The researcher found, based on the framing etc. the piece was valued between $600 and $750. This information was shared with Marc during the intake process. He indicated that seemed reasonable. I was quite surprised to learn the piece sold 3 days after consigning for $144! While I didn't expect the sale price to be the retail price I certainly didn't expect it to be approximately 80% of the retail value! I expressed my displeasure with the Manager who said she would follow up with the Operations Director. After a week of emails not being returned I finally heard from Ryan. In essence he stated the sale price of $144 was appropriate and sent copies of 'similar' items sold on eBay for much less. The only problem with this was the examples Ryan sent were just the print ... no framing, etc. So not a true comparison. The very interesting thing is the intake employee no longer works for the store. Hmmm, could it be he is now the owner of this JD Challenger print that he brought for a very low ball price? Bottom line ... be very cautious when consigning art. UPDATE: unfortunately the response written by Maggie H is simply not true and there are emails to substantiate everything I have written. Also I have never had any conversation, phone call, email or anything to do with the owner of this business. I stand by my comment ... be very cautious when consigning with this business. read more

I actually have gotten many items here- lighting, chests, knickknacks and love all of them. What I DON'T like is the unfriendly staff. When the new manager took over, I commented to her that the place seemed friendlier. But the next time, and every time since, no one speaks to me when I walk in. Today, 4-5 staff were at the front counter discussing something and not ONE of them looked at me and said welcome! I hope someone who can rectify this will read this. I will continue to shop there but NOT happy with the customer service. read more

BUYER BEWARE!!!! Bought 1 picture (John Stewart. 1944 Ship) and a Silk Oriental Rug. The tag for the rug read "Silk Persian Rug $1,395". I took for granted that the Hispanic guy who said he's one of the buyers knew what he was talking about. He said he's been buying for years. He went on to tell us that it's hand knotted. That they sell super fast. The rug was quite large and folded over. I wanted to see it open. It was really busy and he had people waiting For him, so he was nice and excused himself. While he went to assist those people, we called another consignment store called Switch. Last month we bought a large one that we showed to Kristen at Azadi Rugs. She said the price of 750 was excellent and was in excellent condition. So I called and asked the owner at Switch what she looks for in rugs. She said they open them, make sure that there are no dry marks. If they have been stored they ask how they stored them. She said 75% of rugs that come in are damaged in some way or another. When the buyer came back over I told him what she said. He was very polite but said, "oh I know what to look for. I've done this awhile and this rug is fine quality. You could take this to any rug store and they would sell this for $3500 easy". We took his word and bought it. I also asked him about the painting. He said he compares them to websites and found da the exact items and prices them accordingly. The painting was $325. After we left MSAttic we drove to Azadi. I love these people! We ended up buying a small rug there to place underneath our piano bench. The colors blended well with the silk rug we bought at MSAttic. I asked if they would look at the MSAttic rug. They are so wonderful, they had 2 gentlemen go out to our car and get the rug. When they brought it in, they immediately began pointing out and talking about something. When they opened it they flipped it to the backside then the front. We were told that one particular area had mold at one time. But the main issue at hand was dry rot. They see it a lot. They took the rug, lifted it and let it fall to the floor. Then they rolled back a corner and it looked like fine dark powder. And, a lot of it. But on top of that, when they took the rug and bent it slightly, it was very bare in spots. Mainly on one end They asked where we got it. He said they definitely should see this right away! Also, they saw one recently that My Sisters Attic sold. They told the client the reason it was darker in one area is natural when they start or stop and sometimes it's the vegetable dye. Either way it's natural. They said that is absolutely NOT THE CASE HERE! They told me in Arizona it's obviously very hot in our summer. Whether rugs are stored or used, they require proper care. Vacuuming and washing. If they are stored, which 90% that are consigned are, they are not stored properly. Here is the proper way; It's recommended if you put them in storage, it's air conditioned. More importantly, when it's rolled, IT MUST BE WRAPPED IN PAPER ONLY! Not plastic or seran wrap. If it's wrapped in plastic, it will grow mildew! That is what happened with the one we bought. That is the reason for the discoloration. The way they wrap a rug is by placing paper Down. Then put the rug on top. Then put another paper on top of the rug then roll it. We've basically thrown our money away. My Sister's Closet will not return it. Just alone in this past year I've spent well over 18,000 we bought several pieces of used furniture for our boys. I cannot believe your willing to lose customers like this. Well, obviously those decisions come straight from Ann Siner, one of the owners. What a way to run a business. Place a buyer who knows how to buy. And, I must say...when Ryan (or Brian?? Was there, you had better looking furniture. The gal and guy now do not have good taste. They certainly don't check things out well. That's for sure. Good luck! read more

I have driven by this store a million times with out stopping in. One day my curiosity got the best of me, and I peeked inside. I found this store to be so interesting. As I wandered through the store, I found a couple of "treasures ". Having never shopped in a consignment store before, I was pleasantly surprised by the prices. I am now slightly embarrassed by my newly acquired treasure hunting addiction. This store carries high quality, unique items, with a high turnover! Every day is like walking into a completely different store. The staff are all super nice and greet me by my name when I come in and they always make me feel welcome and valued. My husband and I were looking for a few pieces of furniture for our second home in Pine. The store had a fantastic selection to choose from. We were provided great information on the quality and value of each piece we selected which included Drexel Heritage table & chairs and console. We made our purchase and left. A few hours later we began to second guess if the furniture would match the style of our new home. We called the store and asked if we could cancel the order because of our uncertainty. The manager let us know that she would need to check with the people who had consigned the furniture and already received the payment. Within minutes the manager called back and let us know the return was complete. The courtesy that was given to us the buyer and the seller was impressive. I highly recommend shopping at My Sister's Attic. The quality of home furnishings and excellent customer service made our experience the best ever! I used to really like these stores but lately I have been really disappointed. If you take stuff into sell they tell me it must be no older than 5 years old and worth more than $50 however, the store is like 90% stuff that is definitely OLDER than 5 years old!!! I then took in a table that i had only had for a year and they put such a low price on it that it wasn't even worth my trouble to take it over here. The same goes for the clothing stores, they act like your stuff is dirt and deny it but then you see stuff all over the store that is much cheaper brands than what you were trying to consign. They are really shady. If you want to take in Gucci that you paid $500 for and are okay in getting $50 for it, this is the place for you. read more

Good Grief...I've consigned all my life, shockingly awful service here. I did meet a super nice gentleman who appeared to be management or someone who knew what he was doing. He happened to be walking out of the store, super nice, friendly I quickly asked him which brands they took. I specifically asked about Banana Republic, and a few others, as I had dresses with tags on them and in garment bags from the original store. He said yes we take those items we chatted for a bit. Really nice guy. I went inside spoke to a girl at the front very nice, not a great listener but pointed me to the back where they take the consigned clothes. The women back there quickly looked through my items and told me they no longer as of "last week" take these brands. She was an older women personality came across very snobby. I've dealt with folks like this my whole life so it didn't bother me at all. I get Banana Republic isn't consider high end but the clothes would have sold, their loss...no big deal. The reason I gave them such a low rating was the mixed messaging from one person to another in the same store. I would not shop here, they don't seem to have their act together on what clothes they take, I wouldn't trust them with selling my items either. They need to realize that people who consign are checking out their store and rating them accordingly. In this generation of social media you would think they would have a happier face going through the consigner clothes and someone who knows how to deal with people without being patronizing. When you consign your items here, you better check up on your items from time to time. Their inventory tracking leaves something to be desired. If something still shows on your consignment report as for sale, but you cannot find it anywhere in the store, the usual response from the staff is that it must have been donated. Hmmm. Isn't that convenient. Was it broken? Did it end up on someone else's account? I have had this happen more than once. And, in the most recent case, I know darn good and well that it was not donated. It was too nice not to have sold - even at a discount. And, if it was donated, why wasn't it moved into that section of the consignment report? read more

For as much as I love shopping at My Sister's stores this one has to be the worst, many of the employees here are less than friendly and have little to no customer service skills. Don't even think about asking the ladies at the intake counter about any of the items pending pricing. The best they can do is repeatedly comment on what they don't know. No offers to take a number just again and again we don't know. How many times do they need to repeat. When I asked "is that the best she could do, couldn't you offer to take my number and call". She returned "I was getting to that. "REALY, I could hardly tell. I guess I did't present myself as someone worth giving service to. My last visit wasn't the first time I experience poor unfriendly service at this location and from the same people. Honestly they act in a manner that is unacceptable. I will not tolerate being treated in this manner. read more
