Get artsy!
This pedestrian mall in Puebla displays the local artists who are doing new and innovative works of art that are unlike the typical Mexican artisan stuff that you see in the other markets around Puebla. They are mainly doing paintings on canvas- unique and different stuff. Don't expect to see the typical stuff that you see in Mexican shops- this is all hand made, with the artists out in the alleyway doing their paintings live.
There's many different styles of art within the painting genre here. From cubist to impressionist, to knockoffs of Frida Khalao works.
It's a safe place to be, with lots of restaurants here to chill out at in the street. Musicians wander the alley, belting out songs of Mexican love and loss. It's a moving sight to behold!
There's a few public works of art to pose in front of, a large fountain, and lots of cool things to see. The art here is a bit higher end that the other markets- if you are looking for a masterpiece to take home, this is the place. If you're looking for a cheap-o souvenir to gift, this is not the place- the prices are significantly higher than the other nearby markets, but this is because the works are not mass-produced.
While you're here, be sure to check out the giant "PUEBLA" statue that you can pose in front of, or the pair of big angel wings that are perfect for a selfie.
Don't miss this spot, as it's one of the coolest spots to check out the art in Puebla! read more
