Today I went there for the annual Broadway Heights community organization breakfast. Comfortable with good food (mid-April each year). The Recreation Center has BIG front desk, weight room, exercise room, restrooms/locker rooms, Gym, Teen Center, meeting rooms too. All well kept. Great view of mountains outside of back of gym during your break. Nice modern design and architecture. Across the street is Mountain View Park with a small rec. center building. The park is pleasant on the north side, but a little rough on in the center. There is a baseball diamond with bleachers on the southwest corner. With rough grassy area on the southeast corner. The tennis courts have no nets that I saw and in very rough shape?? The basketball courts are in the center of the park and looked playable. There are a few picnic tables and some shade trees. A Brand New children's Playground is being constructed to be open in a couple of months directly across from the community center, but there is no street parking on Boundary Street, which is a one-way going north. You MUST use 40th Street via T st. to get to Mountain View Community Center. There is another park, Southcrest Community Park, that is just a few blocks south on 41st St. which is what Boundary St. turns into going south of Mountain View Community Center. Main entrance off South 40th Street.

What a mess! I…read moreregistered, and was confirmed for a free turkey to be picked up on November 15, and they were going to start giving them out at 10am. I got there at 9am, the line was over a mile long, there was no end to it, t their staff didn't know it was, and people were also waiting in line on foot. I kept circling around looking for the end of the line, and every time I thought that I found it, it was another line, so I decided that I wasn't going to keep looking for, so I went home. Even if I had found the end of the line, I wasn't going to wait 3 hours to get a free turkey. I was sent me a text at around 2:30 saying that it was last call to get a turkey, but since I'm not "glued" to my phone, I didn't see it until the next day. They need to take lessons from the Joan Kroc Center, they're much more organized.

I had a very disappointing and upsetting experience with this organization…read more The supervisor, Ebony Jones, was extremely disrespectful and, in my experience, enrolled my child in a school without my permission or authorization. I believe parents should have the right to make decisions regarding where their children attend school. This situation has seriously damaged my trust in this organization. If my child could be enrolled without my authorization, I have serious concerns about whether similar situations may have happened to other families. I strongly believe this matter should be investigated and that the organization should be held accountable for how enrollment decisions are made and who has the authority to make them.

I was truly amazed and enlightened. The willingness of the volunteers to answer my questions was so warm and great. They have a full menu of food and beverages for visitors that they have for purchase, such as great way to experience the Palestinian culture here. Today, we visited for the House of Palestine Lawn Program. It was an amazing experience. Palestine Lawn Program Event: There were many food, beverage, merchandise, natural products, and many more vendors present. There was a water and boats scenic backdrop, plus a Photo Booth setup to take photos in front of the scene, awesome. There was a man dressed in traditional Palestinian attire walking around to give drinks of Tamarind juice to guests; this was awesome. The food vendor that I loved was Tahini the restaurant. They made shawarma sandwiches, chicken shawarma, beef shawarma, and falafel were the sandwich choices. THE WERE DELICIOUS! Also, fresh made falafel and dolma was available, and THEY WERE ALSO DELICIOUS! The star of the show was Knafe (Kin-Ahhfah), which was a cheesy, pistachio nutty, special syrup drizzled dessert...AMAZING!! The lawn program included children ages 5-17 performing cultural dances, singing cultural songs, performing cultural poetry and spoken word, and painting a beautiful oil painting on canvas on stage. There were also great cultural adult performances as well. The program is ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS! We met the President, Past President, and VP of the House of Palestine. They were all so passionate about the house and the lawn program. We were honored to attend. We plan to attend every year now, thanks to this wonderful experience.

Once we'd get there though they'd be out of new boxes and we'd have to take an old one which would take a dive on us a few weeks down the line as well. Our cable didn't work the first week we were here and the woman and the phone at least started our account off from the date that the cable actually worked. Thats the only good thing I can say about the company. The WORST company out there today as far as communications and cable. I wouldn't recommend them to someone I strongly disliked. So if you're looking for cable/internet providers please don't use them. Save yourself some time.
