As the name suggests they are famous for selling fantastic pies and perfectly conditioned award winning ales. Their ales are brewed 8miles from the Borough market at Fullers Griffin Brewery in Chiswick, London's last remaining family brewery. It's a very Londonish pub atmosphere and runs busy all the time. Whoa!! This place was crazy off the hook!! Music pumping, the drinks were flowing, the packed elbow to elbow floor space was ridiculous.... ridiculously awesome! We had so much fun celebrating with all the other "12s", represented by so many different countries! It was insane. Bought a few ciders, some beers, danced, mingled, took some pictures with some former Seahawk pro bowlers.... you know, like Walter Jones and Jacob Greene. Talk about a bad ass time! I absolutely recommend this place for fun celebrations! The food here was tasty and great. Awesome door prizes!! All in all, incredible fun and lasting memories of a lifetime! This place was alive with energy last night! My family and I are on holiday from the states and we exited the #greyline hop on hop off bus tour and "hopped" into this awesome spot! We sat in the dining area above the scene since we had two minors with us and we enjoyed our traditional fare and view of the 6 deep happy hour crowd! My son and I shared the pie flight.....well, only the pie part.....I drank all 3 of the beers! My favorite was the chicken tikka masala pie and my sons favorite was the steak. We both liked the mushroom but agreed it wasn't our fav. The kids father had the fish and chips. The fish was light and melted in your mouth and of course, the chips were so good we ordered another plate after we finished the first. Finally, my oldest had the burger. It was loaded with big pieces of bacon and cheese and he said the flavor was great. The music was a great mix of older songs and my kids still can't believe I know all the words to the Sugarhill Gang Rapper's Delight from the 80's! A friend & I went here last night to grab a glass of wine. We didn't stay too long. I ordered the Chardonnay, L'Artista and my friend ordered a glass of Merlot. The bar staff was attentive for such a packed Friday night & with minimal staff. Cheers to them. We waited approx 1 minute to be helped. The crowd was a bit rowdy lol. The table next to us featured a group of friends with - one guy jokingly trying to pull out his sausage - one friend smacking the other and then storming off to the restroom - one too tipsy to make a toast & spilled an entire bottle of booze on someone. As pub experiences are so varied depending why you're there... I'll just be clear that I'm rating this pub for it's food mainly during the daytime. Met my mother dearest here for a quick catch up and it's an excellent location for these sorts of things as it's right by London bridge station. Nice selection of pies and pub grub. I had already eaten.. so opted for a beetroot, goats cheese and walnut salad - it was perfect. I also tried some of my mom's pie and chips which were as you'd expect from a classic British pub - Yum! We also had a couple pots of tea (I had apple crumble tea - it smelled like it sounds:) ) It's a lively pub and I think the 'footie' was on so lots of business men drinking pints/grabbed a bite while talking about sports or business. Love the atmosphere in this pub. Great space, friendly service, TV screens here and there... Fantastic location - right near London Bridge and it was very busy with local executives enjoying a brew (and some tourists....), :) Great tap beer, good traditional fish and chips (big portion!). They did run out of tartar sauce, which was a little weird, but we enjoyed the overall experience. We ordered one of the meat pies - the original pie was not available, so we tried the venison (not a fan o' deer meat) - none of us cared for that particular choice. I'd definitely go back next time I'm in London - even if it's just for the ale and atmosphere! read more

A nice pub really close to London Bridge. I stopped in here while taking a walk along the Thames river for quick 1/2 pint of beer. Service was ok since I did not stay very long. The interior is nicely decorated. Considering its location, it was crowded with office workers I guess getting a pint before catching the tube or train at the nearby London Bridge station. read more

The location of this pub is simply stunning. It sits next to the breathtaking Southwark Cathedral, right on London Bridge (so if you have a few too many, you can briskly walk over the bridge with the wind in our hair and appreciate the view). The interior is really beautiful with impressive columns everywhere. They have a full selection of Fullers beers, and serve amazing food, particularly pies. They are hosting the Bears fans for the Bears vs Raiders game. About the bar- large bar with lots of bartenders, took only a few minutes to get a cider. The music was great and perfect volume to enjoy it but also talk. The door guy was fun, informative, and attentive to everything going on. I really enjoyed standing out front and chatting with others and engaging the passerbys. I didn't eat here due to long long but it's right next to Borough Market which I highly suggest you visit while you're in the area. Just an average London pub to be honest. I've ended up at this pub a few times as it's right by the London Bridge tube station. It's a pretty big pub, and has that cool London vibe to it when it's clocking off time and all the city workers are grabbing a drink before heading home. Now it takes a lot and I mean a lot to get 4 or 5 stars from me so please don't be put off with this 3 star review. I really really like this place. I have to admit though, I really really like pubs. Traditional, busy carpets, shiny brass, leather seats, full of men with red noses, pretty bar maid pubs! This pub is huge, meaning that even on it's busiest nights, you'll always get a seat and can soak up the atmosphere. The interior, like Leanne says is grand and you do feel like you are stepping back in time when you walk in, even though you'll still have all the conveniences of modern life, like nice loos and fresh cold beer on tap. It's just a fantastic spot to have a pint in after work, snuggle with the other half an people watch or even kill some time on your own rather than waiting in the cold at London Bridge Station. read more

This was the third pub for us on this particular Saturday night pub crawl and it is a decent enough pub. Old fashioned bar in the middle of the room. Lovely staircase up to the first floor dining area, plus big TV screens and loads of nooks and crannies to sit in and have a chat. The main brass chandelier overlooking all this is just amazing. Prices are decent, range of beers and wines as well and the atmosphere is friendly. It definitely makes the best out of its location right next to London Bridge and caters towards the tourist expectations of a proper English pub...but why not? Some random guy come in and started asking everyone if they had any spare change, which should have been spotted by the bar staff and sorted out, but he was in there for half an hour before i let them know and they moved him on. This is a decent, large and very conveniently located pub. Here were my ups and downs to decided if it is for you. Location - 3-4 stars: Right next to London Station, Borough Market and a good stop off if you are on your way over London Bridge. Ambiance: 3 stars Set in what feels like a large converted bank, high ceilings and traditional wood and leather pub feel. Food: Didn't eat - the selection is traditional pub food. Service: 2-3 stars - In fairness to them, because of the location they get a pretty good crowd and don't really have the staff to keep up with a place that size. Value: Prices on the upper end of pub prices. Bottom Line: For my personal preferences, I'd head on down to one of the many pubs by Borough market for better ambiance and value --- unless I was with four or more folks, where I'd be more likely to be able to grab seats or a table here. read more

For 3 stars, it's a good place. Bog standard - anywhere else and it'd be an old man pub. Massive. Nice people. Decent ales. Just all a bit... unimaginative. You could imagine that nothing's changed (including the carpets or the dust in the corner) since the Coronation. And that's all right. A kind of blah pub with not much to distinguish it. It's not terrible and it has a decent beer selection. It just feels kind of anonymous and transient - the sort of place that I doubt has real regulars. Well-located for London Bridge station, though, so might be suitable if in a rush or looking for somewhere easy - otherwise make the small walk to Bermondsey Street for a nicer selection. read more

This place has such a busy but fun atmosphere. Very busy and would encourage reserving a table ahead of time. We had a good handful of beers and most were great but of course it's up to each individual's palette. My wife had the fish and chips and she really enjoyed her meal. We shared a plate of pita bread and hummus and that was really nice as well. I had the spicy chicken meat pie and honestly...it may have been the best thing I've ever had. So simple yet absolutely delicious. We have traveled all over the world and we sat at the table trying to think of a better dish we've had. Couldn't come up with one. I'd come here again and again for the pie alone. I give 4 stars out of 5 because the server was a bit cold and not very welcoming and warm towards us. I'd give a 4.5 if it was an option because it wasn't a huge deal but noticeably different than other establishments throughout London we've been too. Other than that...spot freaking on! It's a big tourist hotspot, but aside from that, it's a pretty decent pub, if you can get in. A well stocked bar, some lovely food and lots of televisions to watch the football on. I came here for the first time after living in this neighborhood for over 2.5 years and I will say, it's a pretty nice atmosphere and conveniently located. It's quite spacious and I would recommend it for big groups. However, I think there are far more exceptional bars in that area (especially around Borough Market and on Bermondsey Street. Also, they close pretty early on a Friday night, so I was not thrilled about that. I don't know if I'd go again unless other bars around were too busy or I had a big group. read more

Even though the dining room was upstairs and the pub was quite noisy this did not put me off in enjoying my food and the banter of the happy waiter that served us. The food was piping hot and the pie was heavenly, I had the steak and ESB gravy and it just melted in the mouth. Also the pie had a nice shine and was just the right size. A beautiful building (formerly a bank) right at the base of the London Bridge, which is very convenient if you are touristing around and need a pint or a place to eat. I was pleasantly surprised to find it full of noisy Brits watching football on the large TV's in the bar downstairs, instead of a bunch of tourists. We were there for some pub food--not beer--and were taken up stairs to the loft area were the food is served. I was again surprised to find no waiting on a Sat night in a busy area. The service was good, the menu standard pub fare, so no disappointment there. We wanted fish and chips and a meat pie (they have vegetarian options). They also have a meat pie sampling option for the curious. The food was good but average, but I'm not sure pub food gets much better than that. The price was reasonable. The service was good. I enjoyed the noise and clatter of the bar downstairs. This is a comfortable place for non-locals. read more

The Barrow Boy and Banker is just over the road from London Bridge station and just south of the city over the bridge. As such it is extremely popular for after work drinks and benefits from a never ceasing traffic of commuters on their way home. The place is obviously very busy (I was there on a Thursday from 6pm - prime time). The pub is a converted bank (they're not all made into wine bars), inside the decor is traditional pub meets modern re-fit. That means there's alot of wood and a big plasma screen. This is a Fullers pub so serves the mighty London Pride which I was drinking and can recommend as well as other Fullers Ales such as Chiswick and Organic Honey Dew. Lagers included Nastro Azzurro. I give this place a 3 as there's nothing wrong with it but it suffers from the fact that it's probably too big to be considered a local and is full of drinkers on their way home basically it's great for a drink on the way home but you're unlilely to want to be there more than once a week. read more

A beautiful pub located in an old Banking Hall by London Bridge. I stopped here some time ago to have a good dig into a Steak & Ale pie which was good fare. Unfortunately the beers are run of the mill (can't say I'm the biggest fan of Fullers) and the clientele is geared towards the city folk crowd.
