Excellent care. Office staff friendly and helpful. Doctor Edison and Dr. Bauza are very caring, kind and extremely professional.

So the day Dr. Senft saw me for my regular eye appoint (Dec 2019), he saw that my left optic nerve was swollen and he immediately sent me to Dr. Edison the same afternoon. Dr. Edison and his staff were so understanding, professional and got right to the business of diagnosing what the problem was with my eye. I really don't want to go into details, because there were a lot of variables--mostly me, being just me!! but it eventually required a A spinal tap (not something I would want to repeat- ever) and seeing a neurologist. Dr. Edison is understanding and compassionate he made sure I was okay, because I was scared-- eyes problems are nothing to mess around with or take for granted, calmed my nerves by discussing results of tests and go over the new tests I would be having and to assure me that he and his staff were there for me. Basically he broke it down for me Barney style, cuz I am no Dr.... I cannot stress enough the difference in patient care, when you actually have a Dr that cares about you and listens. When your Dr cares about you, like Dr Edison does, I don't know about you, but I sit up- and all joking aside- I follow directions, I take the med's, I do the tests and I GO TO my follow up appointments. I like my eyes and I love looking at this world and Dr. Edison is making sure that my sight improves and I darn well better listen to him, he knows what he talking about. I've been going to this practice since moving to the shore full-time 5 years ago. I've received consistently great care from a physician who invests in technology and has great processes in place that keep the practice running really efficiently. I typically have to wait about 30 minutes, but who doesn't need to slow down and just have some quiet time every now and then? I work full-time and multitask constantly, so I appreciate waiting time as treasured time. And there are always new frames to look at.... Today I returned for some additional testing Dr Edison ordered, to be done 6 weeks after my annual check-up. Chris, the tech assigned to me, was outstanding. His attention to detail, with impeccable safety measures (during the pandemic) and non-rushed testing, was very impressive and I appreciated his knowledgeable explanations. This was not someone going through the paces. He was a delight. If I was an ophthalmologist, I would have recruited him to my practice! Dr Edison is always incredibly thorough and funny and I have complete confidence in his diagnostic conclusions. Beware of them doing tests and then sticking you with a bill. He's a good doctor. His staff takes you in the back, does all these tests and do not disclose why or if there are extra costs. They should let you know in advance and not blindside you. read more

Dr. Edison and his staff are the most caring and professional staff in Monmouth County. I called his office about suddenly appearing flashes and floaters in my right eye. The office immediately arranged an appointment and I was seen that same day. Dr Edison is a persistent and thorough diagnostician. I highly recommend him. read more

I've been going to Dr Edison for the past 10 years and have never had a negative experience. Through routine appointments and more serious, potentially vision-threatening issues, Dr Edison and his staff have always been exceptionally professional, friendly, and helpful. I'm not sure what the other review is taking about in reference to what they perceived as incompetence, but am assuming that there was a lack of communication there--the nurses and administrative staff all seem very committed to doing their jobs thoroughly, with smiles on their faces. I would recommend this office to anyone looking to try out/go to a new eye doctor. read more

If I could post a -1 I would! Appalling!! I made an appointment for both my husband and myself at his Brick NJ office. When I first called and inquired if they took my insurance I was informed that the girl would have to call me back and that would be done before day's end. It wasn't, it took a few days, but hey, I can understand, the office gets busy, etc. I went online and printed out the paperwork, filled it out and had everything ready for my appointment. I showed up at the Brick office and they couldn't find my appointment. Eventually she found it but it was for the Eatontown office, ('Why would I make an appointment at that office when I live 5 minutes down the road from the Brick office?"). I believe you she said, (quote) "It happens all the time!" Um, if that's the case might I suggest two things....first, don't openly admit to it and secondly, hire someone who is competent to do the job!!! Then she say's "Don't worry, we'll get you in, just not today. Plus, there are two other papers to fill out." "Seriously? Thought all the papers were online? By the way, can you check and see if my husband's appointment is in the computer?" "Yes he's here but for our Eatontown office." "Okay, cancel that appointment, I'll take my paperwork back. I'll be taking my business elsewhere." I was dumbfounded! No one else from the office approached me, it was business as usual. I cleared my afternoon for that appointment and did everything to save the office time to check me in. Do yourselves a favor - go, (RUN) to another Eye Doctor!!!! read more
