Transfer station here with multiple platforms. I tend not to like the underground stops as its disorienting and keep thinking about earthquakes when I'm down there. Everybody has likely hung around this station. If your on a longer route you might have to transfer here. You linger around wonder if your on the right platform for your transfer. Cross your fingers... hope for the best. Its too many platforms. Platform 1 platform 2 platform 3... I never had a formal education on learning how to navigate public transportation and sometimes you don't have a travel companion that you can rely on for this sort of thing. Blue tiles on the lowest level. Ads with people and a dog wearing glasses. The dog looks particularly smart. Other various ads and posters around to look at while you wait. You hear over the intercom all these different trains and platforms. Even more confusing since you can hear the intercom from other platforms on your platform. If your on a wrong platform when the train you want comes its too late. Overall Bart isn't that popular these days. Work from home or maybe fear of being in confined spaces with others might keep many away. Because of that it makes using these trains all the better.

This station is going through a modernization project, so as one would expect, there's a lot of visible work, plywood, hammering during commute, etc. That said the improvements are already showing & making a tremendous difference: - Broken ceramic tiles are being replaced - New glass railings (goodbye cement!) and fare barriers - Going all LED (stations are *so* much brighter) - Fresh coat of paint (a good contrast of yellow & white) - Public restrooms have been reopened These improvements are funded by State of California Proposition 1B funds, BART Measure RR funds, Caltrans (STIP) funds, Alameda CTC Measure BB funds, and a Federal Department of Transportation TIGER Grant, as part of the broader GO Uptown project with the City of Oakland. Also, happy 50th anniversary BART! You enable the dream of an interconnected & car-free Bay Area to be alive & well.

Supremely Located in the center of downtown Oakland. There about 4 entrance/exits that make up the huge station. Walk up the stairs through the exit and you're right in the mix of some of the best spots in Oakland. Uptown Juice Co, Donut Savant, The Paramount, Terria Mia Coffee, Oakland Community Partners, Oakland Vision Center, The Hive, Lucas, just to name a few. Get off at 19th street and you are literally at the heart of Downtown Oakland. Anything that isn't within walking distance can be reached by taken the B on Broadway (free shuttle) Unfortunately there are no bathrooms at this station and sometimes it's a hassle to find a Bart Employee when you need assistance but we all know how BART can be.

Was meeting the husband for dinner so I took BART from Union City to 19th St BART Station. It's $3.70 one way. It's the new transfer station. They have bike racks to store your bikes. Not sure how much that cost. No Public Bathrooms since it's Underground so people can't put bombs in them. Close to Paramount Theatre & the New Uptown Oakland, ArtMumur First Fridays.

Not quite as nice as the 12th station but not bad in terms of cleanliness, appearance, and working elevators, escalators, etc. Plus it's the closest station to my house so that's a big plus. Having a second station in downtown Oakland was a good idea because neither station gets too crowded during commute hours. I like that they have that Subway shop inside the station. There have been a few times when I'm running late that I've been able to grab a bite to eat while waiting for my train when i'd otherwise not've had time to stop. The Subway is almost always deserted (regardless of the time of day) and though I wonder how it affords to stay in business I love that I'm in an out so quickly. There are no station agents in this station 90% of the time I have entered or exited. Not a place to go if you need help or have questions. If there is an agent he or she will only be in the middle booth. My last couple of comments are on BART in general. The service has been really poor lately. Trains are almost constantly late, the once running behind sit for what feels like eternity at each station, falling another minute or so behind at each stop. There are always people mis behaving on the trains, sometimes mildly- listening to boom boxes super loud, creating their own raps or songs.. sometimes misbehaving BADLY- fighting, smoking pot (and once it was either crack or meth), drinking, playing with ones "part" lol, you're getting my drift.. But what annoys me most lately is all the people asking for $$ on the trains. Some flat out, some pretend to sell store bought candy, and my personal favorite "I'm collecting for my kids school" ok but where are the documents to go with that cuz you've only got a napkin written with lip liner in smudges for the previous "donations". As much as Bart now costs to ride (I spend atleast $9 a day commuting, should we really have to deal with so much? I think not. Shape up.

Getting comfy during major delay May 6, 2015.

For a room advertised as accessible and at a price of over $600 for a 4 hour ride, this level of disrepair is inexcusable. Also, the ticket was advertised as including meals, but there was no breakfast or snacks, and lunch was barely edible (reheated, stale food). Staff were kind, but the facilities and upkeep were not. For the price, this fell far short. I would not recommend booking an accessible room based on this experience. Save your money and just buy a coach ticket or better yet, just drive.

Did not use this visit. The kiosk/cafe that sells coffee/drinks was not opened, but they have vending machines for water/sodas and snacks. Did not use. The train was a little late, but we were adequately informed by the platform signage. No issues getting on the train. Coming back from Sacramento, the train was late and we didn't have time to even go into the station. It was directly to the bus to connect back to SF. Very quick boarding. And if you have larger luggage, they store it under the bus. Efficient service. Located on Horton and 59th Street.

I noticed not that many times to choose from going to Davis from Sacramento. We missed the 2 pm. We had to wait almost an hour and half until the next one. We bought our tickets then realized no one told us where we actually get onto the train. Our friend went back in..at the ticket booth the man that helped us was very nice and very helpful. He gave the kids coloring books and pins. Finally on the train it was bumper then I remembered, moved around a lot reminded me being on boat. Can not have bags or luggage out on tables or seats. I think we got called out, but we weren't sure since it was over the load speaker. We had a small bag it had food and snacks in it. We put into the over head. We went to check out the food car. So the kids could feel what it was like to walk from car to car..the food car was mostly over priced snacks. Canned, bottled drinks and packs of chips or nuts. When we arrived in Davis. They said over the loud speaker they do not stop for to long you need to get off so get ready. We couldn't open the over head to get our bag back out. It was stuck. Other passengers helped us open it, they said you really need to pull it hard. Once off the train the Davis train station and building looked so old and run down..so sad looking compared to Sacramento station. We didn't know no one would be there to buy return tickets. But they do offer more times leaving back to Sacramento. We purchased online. We had many people asking if they were in the right place while we were waiting.
