First off, I went into treatment with a good attitude and came out miserable and hopeless. I remember walking in the first day of treatment, ready to be free from my eating disorder. Some of the treatment staff (NOT ALL, some were great) made me feel as if my eating disorder will be present the rest of my life. I am a believer in full recovery so this literally crushed me! On my last day there (I went against treatment advice because I was not making any progress mentally), one of the staff members literally said, "what if you relapse again?" Really? I had been in treatment for 7-8 weeks and you waited to ask me this as I am about to walk out the door (and leave permanently)? Thanks for not giving me any relapse strategies in the 7 weeks I have been here. I know that if I relapse again, I will NEVER come back. Also, there were a lot of other issues with this program. The group size was way too big. Not a lot of individualized sessions and small groups. The food was mediocre. It was from Shoprite. Nothing special. Basically the same stuff all the time. I would not recommend this program to anyone, unless it is last resort. I have never been to any other treatment programs (so I have nothing to compare it to), however, please try something else first. I am making more progress on my own than what I was in treatment. Renfrew has such great intentions, but it needs a lot of changes.

Having no experience with any of this we put our trust in the treatment facility to guide him in the right direction. Humble Beginnings is very client focused. They helped my son with finding his root issues and have given him the guidance to be able to correct his behavior. The care of the staff is unbelievable, they are kind, knowledgeable, caring and definitely can relate to their patients. From the moment I stepped into their office I knew my son was in the right hands. They genuinely want to help. If you read nothing else in this review, please understand this - Dr. Cohen is THE reason I am still married today. Now, if you have stayed around for the rest of the story, here it goes. My wife and I have been married 20 years and have hot a very rough patch for the last few years. In my ignorance, I was just chugging along thinking everything was fine in life while my wife was suffering alone. I just chalked up her outbursts and "resting bitch voice" to hormones, or emotions, or just plain evilness (you name it and I assigned it as a reason for her being at fault). Our life had become one of casual interaction. A constant cycle of valleys and peaks where I just tried to get from one argument to the next with some happiness sprinkled in where I could find it. I never realized that I was emotionally neglecting my wife and that her actions were a cry for my attention rather than just nagging at me. I spent so much time seeking praise for my cooking, cleaning and laundry skills that I neglected the most important thing in my life - her. After the cycle finally erupted in "The Big One" last fall, it became apparent we needed outside help. My wife had heard of the Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) method of marriage counseling and wanted to specifically seek out a therapist that specialized in that technique. After searching through lists upon lists of names, we settled on Dr. Cohen. And since that first meeting in January, our lives and our perceptions have changed. She provided a warm, inviting setting and put us both at ease from the start. She is patient with us when we have trouble expressing what we are feeling inside. She celebrates our successes and helps us get back on track after any stumbles. Her level of caring and professionalism is above reproach. She was especially helpful when we had a major bump in the road recently as she squeezed me in on short-notice and helped me walk-through an incident that had occurred and threatened to derail our progress. She led me down the path of "guided discovery" to allow me to see how I could have better approached the situation and to see it from my wife's perspective. I cannot imagine having anyone else helping us rediscover our love for each other and teaching me specifically that we all deserve more in life than just "fine" and how to reach new heights in our relationship. Without a doubt, she has brought our marriage from the brink of divorce to a stable platform where my wife and I both feel real change has occurred. Arguments and distrust have become the exception instead of the norm, and no more words (if I only had a nickel for every time I said I'm sorry without really meaning it) and empty promises to try harder next time, but real change that you can see and feel. I will be the first to admit that I thought therapy and counseling was a waste of money and just a bunch of touchy, feely, uncomfortable conversations about "daddy issues" - boy was I wrong. I look forward to our meetings every other week. My wife and I have learned what we are really saying and meaning underneath our defenses. We have learned how to approach conversations and situations in ways that result in productive, honest conversations instead of immediate arguments. And as a bonus, the things she has taught us have not only strengthened our relationship but the one with our daughters as well. We highly recommend her to all of our family and friends...she is the absolute best in our book and if she can get make me admit I have feelings than she can work wonders with anyone!

Steer clear of this company!!!! My therapist and psychiatrist are wonderful! They are not, (guess I should say were not) the problem. Why the past tense? I can't see them anymore because of "insurance issues." Uh, issues...? I provided Array with my updated insurance info in January 2026 (with images of primary and secondary insurance cards in an email), when my insurance changed at the start of the year. Heard nothing back from them, but I figured that the billing department would contact me if there were any problems. Several weeks go by. Crickets. Overtime, I forget all about insurance because my life was chaos. But then...Yesterday (Feb 26th 2026) and today (Feb 27th 2026) after some irritating back and forth with the billing department via email, I called the billing department, hoping someone would answer the phone. To my surprise they answered the phone. I was informed that Array doesn't take my primary insurance. M'kay... Gee, I wish they had told me this in January, before I went to all those once-a-week therapy appointments.... but from my experience, secondary covers whatever primary doesn't. Then they said they tried to bill my secondary insurance, but the claims got denied. Huh. And they told me that I have a $1540 bill for services dating back to January. You know, JANUARY: the month when they should have informed me that my insurance wasn't working! But I got no communication until last night (Feb. 26th 2026) when I got an email saying that there was an "insurance issue". Horrified, I called my secondary insurance company to ask why they were denying the claims. And they had no idea what I was talking about, because they never received even a single, solitary claim from Array. I got a verbal shrug from my secondary insurance, and they told me to contact my primary insurance. I got a sense of "I don't wanna deal with your problem, go over there" from the customer service rep. So, I spoke with the primary insurance company, who of course didn't know anything about anything. Basically, they told me, "Send us the bill and we might pay it". Might. Great. So I guess that either Array lied about sending claims, or there's some sort of administrational muddle...somehow. But if there has been a muddle, the clinic should have figured that out, before sending me a bill that's $200 more than my monthly income! I'm obviously poor, living on disability... and savings? What's that? Friends and family were unanimous: "Don't pay that bill! Fight it. Maybe find a lawyer." I hate that Array put me through all this. We could have avoided all of it if they communicated with me in January. The stress has made all my health issues worse, not just mental health. I sure could use a therapist but oop! I no longer have one.

Was able to confirm that Array sent my claim 11 months late. They had 90 days. I no longer have the…read moreinsurance now, that I had then, so they told Array that my coverage lapsed so they denied payment. The nice woman at Array who was trying to get my bill for the February dropped, said her supervisor said no, that I had not checked in (despite my being in the waiting room). I am now going to file an appeal with my insurance company. I'm also looking into getting Array formally investigated.

Oh, and he's unbelievably attentive. If he knows you're going through a crisis, he'll actually call you sometimes. I didn't have a day without crippling anxiety and it drive me to depression. Doctor Perilstein, with a large dose on genuine care and a small dose of comedy, began treating me. She quickly began focusing on cognitive behavioral therapy as a means to train myself on how to be "my old happy self" again.
