I love this place! BaseCamp provides an opportunity for both children and adults to exercise in a unique way via "adventure fitness". This is a warehouse type unit with various obstacles including: monkey bars, cargo nets, ropes to climb and swing, rings, mini trampolines, ladders, rock walls, peg walls, foam pyramids, balance beams, ramps and four different "warp walls" (ninja warrior style). Each week, the instructor changes the "obstacles" and helps students learn the proper techniques by which to conquer them. There is a focus on cardio, agility, balance, upper and lower body strength, and coordination. Various "parkour" techniques are taught which I feel is a huge attraction for kids. I have noticed significant progress in my children in a little over a month. They have better balance, coordination, and are building strength. Each class ends with them sweaty and tired!
Classes run about 45 minutes and includes "open gym" time which gives a chance for students to work on whatever they want. The Membership package is monthly and includes two classes and one open gym session per week.
The Owner Operator and main Instructor Chad, is knowledgeable and keeps the students engaged and focused on the workout. There are also one, two or three junior assistants (older teens/early twenties) who are stationed throughout the room to assist the kids through the workout. The facility is always very clean and well kept. There are two clean bathrooms and a water fountain as well.
This is also a veteran owned and operated business.
I highly recommend trying BaseCamp Adventure Fitness! read more
