It's a great way to spend a day by the beach in the winter - especially if it's sunny out so you can walk the boardwalk after. Anyways, back to the aquarium! My kids (2.5 and 4.5) had a blast. We loved watching the seal feeding and the penguin feeding. There were so many fish and reptiles to check out, and even some land animals like little monkeys and parrots. There are some seriously impressive sharks, jellyfish, sea horses, turtles. I could go on and on. A special highlight was also seeing a real life Axolotl - my girls have been obsessed with this animal lately. We got here close to opening so it wasn't hard to find a spot. I'm sure it can be mayhem if you come on a summer beach day! The gift shop at the end was cute, but don't get lured by the low prices. I got my girls each a plastic mermaid for $5 (felt low for a gift shop) but everything cracked and broke after a few minutes of play time. Look at the terrible paint job, scuffed parts, messed up proportions, and misaligned sticker part. When I opened it, it was dirty, the bodies were thinner, and the heads popped right off. There is also no such thing as Marine series and Cat life series hippers, those figures only exist as regular standing figures according to the official Sonny Angel website. They may not have known that these were fake figures, but they could have done the right thing by refunding it to me. This is a warning to other shoppers to avoid buying these fakes!!!

Many slot machines that pay out with tickets. One of my favorites was a spinning blackjack machine but the Ticket Circus was my absolute favorite. Tokens don't pay out but if you push a plastic piece over the edge, you get the number of tickets listed on that piece and each ticket is worth 10 points. The staff was friendly and patient. They were able to help any time there was an issue before we called them over since it was pretty quiet (one machine ran out of tickets and a different kind did not register one of the cards that went over the edge). All of the machines except the spinning blackjack machine accepted swipe cards, coins and bills. I appreciate the flexibility! Sometimes you don't want to invest in a card but need a few more tickets to get the prize you want. Tons of fun for adults and kids!
