Let me set the scene: it is Tuesday at 6pm and a full moon; my 7 year-old-son is getting dropped…read moreoff by my exhusband. I know my son has ringworm but he/his dad began treatment on Monday so approximately 36 hours. Ringworm is highly contagious and needs precaution for minimum 48 hours. I read the instructions from urgent care and immediately I'm concerned; the Doctor prescribed 2 creams for treatment: one prescription cream (which he had) and one over-the-counter... I called my exhusband thinking my son forgot it in the car... instead I was reminded why we are divorced in the first place... so I head to MY CVS (this one) to seek help. With my son's urgent care instructions in hand, I was invited to the CVS Pharmacy consultation counter. The pharmacy technicians that night were beyond kind, patient and helpful. Now for clarity, when I asked my exhusband where the second cream was, I did not realize it was over-the-counter. If I had, I wouldn't had bothered contacting him first. Since the other cream was over-the-counter, the pharmacy technician with brown scrubs walked us over to find it. He provided more clarity to the discharge instructions like he was predicting the future questions I would have once I was home. I wish I would have gotten his name because I will never forget his help, knowledge and kindness he showed this last Tuesday.

It's perfect for those days when getting out of the car feels like climbing Everest. The wait times can be lenghty, but there is the option to park and jump inside if the last resort is needed. The pharmacists are friendly and still manage to answer all your questions through a window, which feels a bit like talking to a medication guru at a drive-thru confessional. Overall, it's a speedy, safe, and a way to handle your pharmacy needs without ever leaving your car. P.S. Greenfield road is currently under major construction, but they are still open.

If you call at any other time especially during the daytime you are looking at the least an hour wait to get through to talk to anyone. I kid you not. If you go to pick something up at any time other than the middle of the night you are looking at long lines of tired and frustrated people ahead of you and long wait times. I don't know how any place can be so incompetent other than they have a huge workload and only limited staff to take care of it. I have also had the experience of being told via text that my medication was ready to pick up only to go there and find they did not even have it, and had no idea what happened to it. This has happened more than once. Another time they refused to fill a medicati on without speaking to my Dr first. I was told if a call was from a Drs office it would go directly to the pharmacist's personal line so there would be no wait time. Lie. My Dr tried to call them however after waiting for 15 minutes with no one picking up he had to go. The pharmacy refused to take any responsibility or offer any solutions and continued to refused to fill the prescription even though it was a med I had been taking for years and getting from them and had terrible withdrawal symptoms as seizures and up to death if it was suddenly stopped without tapering off. I advised them of this as I had been out of the med for several days and was experiencing withdrawal symptoms however they still refused to fill it before speaking to my Dr.who tried but was unable to reach them. Totally uncaring, nasty, unhelpful attitudes. Some of the staff are like a joke for instance the night pharmacist Nick who refused to fill that prescription without first talking to my Dr and even though I wasn't asking him to do that at that moment I was asking him to explain why since it was one of my regualar meds I'd been taking for years. I was at the drive through window and there he stood at the window wearing a mask and yelling at me so loudly that the speaker was totally distorted and I could not understand a word he was saying, other than that it was something about refusing to fill my script. When I told him I could not understand a word he was saying he put his hands on his hips and said "I'm not taking the mask off!!!" Lol I wasn't even asking him to take the mask off just telling him I could not understand him with the speaker all distorted. I wish I would have taken a video of him he was a total joke. Like a little boy throwing a temper tantrum not a professional pharmacist. Enough said. Don't go there.

Example, I ordered a refill on one of my prescriptions, my doc called it in. RMP changed it to a short acting instead of the long acting she called in. I called my doc and she said she did not change it. Doc called pharmacy. They still say she changed it and that its what she always called in. Mind you, I have photo of the actual prescription bottle with the prescription on it from their pharmacy showing she had called in the long acting they say she didn't call in. I don't know about you, but I want the pharmacy to dispense what my doc prescribes NOT what the pharmacist (who doesn't know me, my medical history nor has practiced medicine a day in their lives thinks is best). Really? Your going to argue with the Doctor? Yeah. NOT impressed. Bad way to gain my confidence and terrible way to business.

She quickly went to give the vaccine to our daughter without giving us instructions like the other times she got vaccines. She acted like our daughter is an adult and knew what to expect. When the provider went so quickly, without the usual instructions to hold her it caught me off guard. My daughter punched the needle away causing the needle to bend and left a significant scratch on my 2 year old's leg. When she did the vaccine again there was a similar awkward action as my daughter squirmed. To the point, this provider doesn't seem to be skilled with young children. She also lacked compassion for the painful scratch my daughter has. We will never use CVS again as a result.
