The turkey leg I got at the state fair from Basil's had no such thing called seasoning! I am appalled they have a food truck. The reviews would have warned me, but I didn't know the state fair was desperate for food stand services to the point that dog food was acceptable. The Indian tacos were fire though. read more

Absolutely the worst food I have ever had at a food truck. Might possibly be the worst food I have ever had in general. My family and I came to the Water Slide Picnic in Albuquerque at the balloon fiesta ground. We ordered 2 items, the donut burger and the BBQ pulled pork sandwich. 1. The donut burger consist of cheese, green chile, and patty between 2 donuts. The donut was an old stale donut that was crap. The green chile was cold which meant it just came out of the fridge without it being warmed up. The patty, too, was on the chill side. Overall, everything was cold and old. 2. The pulled pork sandwich came with fries. The fries were not done properly and undercooked. The sandwich bun, on the way out, the top bun flew back into the kitchen. I thought that it might take a little while longer to warm up another bun, BUT NEXT THING YOU KNOW, THE SAME TOP BUN THAT FELL OFF, they just put that bun back on top of the sandwich when it had fell to the damn ground. The food was $19 dollars and it was a bad experience. The quality was awful and the food was very unsanitary. Another thing was that there were no prices listed for the overpriced food items. Never in my life will we come back here. We tried to show them that the food was cold but the lady who appeared to be the owner did not do anything to try to fix our orders. read more

My family and I have eaten frequently from Basil's Home Cooking food truck at the many events around the Albuquerque metro. Their food menu is small but constantly changing based on the demand of the thousands of satisfied customers that attend these events and frequent Basil's Home Cooking. After getting to know Mr. Basil and his wife on a first name basis I learned that cooking and serving their product is their mutual passion. Customer complaints are taken very seriously as I learned when I had a disagreement regarding an order. Not only was my order made right immediately, I was compensated by receiving at no charge, a complimentary side of ribbon fries. If you have never tasted ribbon fries....whoa...I am hooked now! This spring/summer at the upcoming athletic tournaments my family and I will definitely be seeking out Basil's food truck...and probably sample a new item or two from their delicious menu.
